I like the classic GSC staying - they seem substantively different to the malstrains, and there’s no reason we couldn’t also have ‘traditional’ uncorrupted GSC - you could see them being utterly repelled by the malstrains.

I think it would be cool that they have both gangs and that they hate each other. One see the other as impure and the other sees the other as inferior

I hope that they make the malstrain GSC rules are flexible enough to represent both the traditional cult and the malstrain. Im very excited in any case.

The Warcom article on the Magos Hermiatus says he can work for GSC and Malstrain gangs, so it seems like the OG GSC gang is staying around alongside the new Malstrains.

Malstrain are looking Fully Sick Wicked but i am also quite interested to see what they're doing with the implied new specialists for the house gangs

I think the Spyrers are most interesting to me. I was exposed to an anime back with a train moving through space and there was a theme of having one's body made artificial, cyborgism in other words. Later I watched both Robocop 1 & 2 so all in all cyborgs are facinating. So is the Spyre Hunters' will to throw away their humanity! That being said I do like the look of the Malstrain.

I believe that both styles of Genestealer Cult will stay, it still makes sense lore-wise. The Malstrain have been severed or ignored by the hive mind. Which means normal GSC Gangs are newer broods attempting new infiltration of the planet. Even if GW do replace them, I think I'd still keep them both in setting.

I’m curious to know what “zone necromunda game” implies?

At 1st was hoping for ways to expand my GSC gang (I just built up before this came along) and then was disappointed that Malstrain won't really 'fit' but I now realise this is infinitely better! IMHO 'Stealers are the very best fluff-wise and an intriguing counter-point to the more straightforward background of other factions: there's real pathos and depth to their motivations - really interesting themes of creation/nature, isolation, 'quest' and redemption (mother's and their offspring's a strong sub-theme in the Alien trilogy - there were only 3 alright?!). What would the indomitable hive mind be scared of? And absolutely the Malstrain should be completely fecked up and abhorrent to them - it was created by humans after all. The tragedy of a close gang of 'normal' void mining-prospectors devastated by alien infection, marooned in the wastes of 'Munda (and realising they're now pariahs), driven to survive through sub-conscious yearning to connect to some unknowable 'family' and psychically lured into the ruins of Secundus only to find something even worse than themselves is so baroque an idea I think it's already the richest expansion yet....I don't particularly care if there's a new rule set I don't like bundled in because what's to stop us playing established campaigns in this new setting? Or arbitrating Cult champs to 2 wounds?! plus the Coalescence is extra extra gnarly - super hyped for all of this !

To me Lady Haera looks like up armored Queen of Blades from Starcraft. Hermiatus is a clone, not the original one. Awesome miniature, by the way. Should be an easy kitbash for a Dark Mechnicum.

VERY much looking forward to the Spyrer gang breakdown you do. As well as all the new character, hangers on, & any others. I will admit, I Really don't like the Orrus models. Haera especially. However I Love all the others & their options. & my love for the Malcadon group has just grown ❤

Personally I hope they officially keep Malstrain and 'normal' GSC separate, but also update the gang list from Book of Ruin (mainly give that needed 2nd Wound to champs and maybe update the GSC wyrd powers list). That said, if you have the Book of Ruin, there is nothing stopping you keeping 'normal' GSC and GS infection as an option in your own campaigns, even if the devs 'declare' all GSC are Malstrain now. Cheers! :)

GSC and the malstrain will hopefully be two different entities. Malstrain is beyond corrupted and any GSC worth their salt would see them as freaks.

Its a differnt character to the hermaphage nagos this is a clone of the first guy who was experimenting on a genestealer and it got loose and infected sucundus he was executed but this is his clone

Malstrains and Genestealer Cults are two completely separate gangs. Can't wait to get my hands on the Malstrains.

Not sure what I'll be picking up this release due to finances needing to go elsewhere. But very excited, not a fan of breaking the terrain up into a separate box like they have with war cry and kill team just to get a few extra dollars. But then again I'm still salty that delaque didn't get a vehicle. 😂 I just want to see the new rules!!!

I think "gshs" are starting to look wasp-like, which I'm down for. If I get these little cupcakes I'm going to frost them in hornet colors.

Even if they replace the original rules, you can always keep the old ones active as well.

Was seduced by Genestealers back in 8th. By 9th I'd fallen out of love with the rules. By 10th, I was out of love with 40k. Necromunda always sang to me, tho...so I snagged a box of Ash Waste nomads. Not a day after I painted the first, the Malstrain were revealed. The Four Armed Emperor has welcomed me home.

I hope they just update the GSC for the current ruleset. Yea, they can get special weapons for all the normal gangers, but they lack some special rules the newer gangs have, and that makes playing with them a bit difficult, especially in a campaign.

The Necromunda rule books are, by far, the worst game manuals I've ever seen. 300+ pages of light-grey font, printed on a light-grey page background. Such a disappointment.
