I always loved how the car models look so good and shiny in-menu and very different during gameplay, leaning more toward a matte finish. Such a fresh looking UI and selection menus even after all this time.
This game formed my whole taste in cars. I got it when i was 7 and played it a ton on our old PC that was for the whole family. I loved the cars and the special paintjobs. And the voice of the guy talking is also great : 2:53 safe to say that if we had police cars like that in real life, there would be no shortage in police men anymore.
I had when i was 10 (was born in 93). First the demo, then we were borrowing for 1 week the full game (in brussels you could do that). As you, it shaped my taste of cars. Every car looked so precious and unique. Well designed. No tuning, just original cars and police cars. The best nfs game for me. You progressed step by step. Lotus, then jaguar, mercedes, BMW M5, then Z4...quite slowly as i recall.. I pursued this type of game in the PGR (project Gotham racing). Not as good as hot Pursuit 2 of course
While both versions are flawed games, but there's one thing EA Seattle did right: more police cars (we always wanted a police Diablo like in the famous opening).
I think they were originally going to make localized cars. Basically, if the game was played in the UK, it'd be the Vauxhall, but elsewhere, it'd be the Opel. The TS50 and HSV are completely unfamiliar outside of Australia, and similar cars appear in older NFS games as AU-only cars.
I completely agree, the PS2 version is far better! The Other version does have more cop cars, but only the PS2 version has the Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge!
@@stephen_lucidoPS2 version was developed by the legendary BlackBox studio, this was their first NFS game and what an introduction to a legendary era.
The EA Seattle Version only had 2 cops if you had 2 stars & higher and maybe 1 cop that chases another car, and 2 roadblock cops. Not many cop cars if you ask me & they'll only call for roadblock once, not like the PS2 version
The f1 lm go from 0-60 in 2.8s and has a top speed of 360km/h That is a big mistake..... in this game the lm version is slower, the lm is a track focused version so it should be the best version...
