13 years later and I still see Rhino's charging me in my nightmares

At 9 years old, I got angry at the rivals characters, fell in love with Mia, owned the cars I customized, had friend that cared, had a goal in life, and found my own way to play through the game. This was the best. And it'll always remain the greatest memory I have of a racing game.

Mia.... :( She never came back! She told me she'll hit me up later!

Scariest thing as a kid was coming over a hill and seeing a spike strip _right_ in front of you.

The police radio chatter was so iconic in MW, you even hear it in music videos and low budget straight to DVD movies

I can't believe he didn't mention the ungodly good soundtrack. That was half my love for the game because all of it was really, catchy and bouncy, and felt perfect for racing regardless of the genre.

I came to know that they did some dialogue by themselves And Razor dialogues were like 60% not scripted , it was by him That's why you feel why Razor is like a true villan You can search for it

after 15 years i still play this game today, that speaks leaps and bounds of how good this game is

Something I loved about this game was that if you put every upgrade you got into your starting car you could take it all the way to the end. The Cobalt SS at full power was absolutely glorious.

The "Conclusion" segment really brought back memories. As he was talking about it, I was getting flashbacks of what was like back then, how life was, but mostly how much I was enjoying this game. Really got nostalgic. A well done review sir.

I very recently played through this game and since I'm in quarantine, I plowed through it quickly. This game was one of my favourites titles as a child. I remember it taking months to complete and it was hard and unforgiving. I remember the pure excitement to unlock the Murciélago (pronounced mursi-yEHlaggo by the way) as a 10 year old. I realised how easy this game is as an adult and I wonder if people that weren't 10 in 2005 thought the same as I did now? After beating Ming and hopefully getting his Gallardo, the game is piece of cake from that moment. That car is way too good for being unlocked after half the game progress. The funny part is that it is fully maximised (only nitrous isn't ultimate iirc) and most ultimate parts need Ronnie to be defeated in order to unlock them (blacklist member #3). The rubberbanding is ridicilous. It is most noticeable when you play with a fully upgrades McLaren SLR and next to you is an Audi A3 and it outdrives you without any issue. On the other hand, once you get a hold of how the game works and how to drive efficiently, it's almost impossible to lose. And while the tollbooth and speedtrap races are insanely easy, the dragrace is so unforgiving it's laughable. I sometimes retried the same race 15 - 20 times before giving up and choosing another race instead. The police chases are as thrilling and fun as I remembered them. The feeling of getting millions of bounty after a hectic chase is great. Though, spending 15+ minutes on a crazy pursuit and getting busted for some ridicilous reason and therefore lose all your bounty is pretty annoying. That is the pinnacle of wasted time. Once I reached a certain amount of time played in pursuit, I avoided roadblocks because of the pure disappointment I'd feel if I crashed into a car but got flipped upside down instead and being forced to reset my car and getting busted. After a couple of failed attempts and wasted time, I installed a trainer just to be able to turn on "no busted" in extreme cases. The fact that resetting your car means busted instantly is the biggest flaw of this game in my opinion. It fulfills zero to me and is solely really annoying if anything. I never cared about the game's repeating pattern. The races are fun and so is the pursuit. I still think the graphics are good and I could feel the excitement inside of me while being chased by 10+ police Corvettes and Rhino SUVs. The soundtrack is great and memorable. I like how all vehicles can be fully upgraded. In theory, you can beat the game with the first car you purchase (which might be possible anyway due to rubberbanding?), unlike Carbon for example that categorises each car in a certain tier. Since some upgrade parts are unlocked after beating a specific blacklist member, and some cars only have one upgrade, you're forced to drive the car stock for a longer time than you might think. I bought the Viper as soon as I upgraded it, just to realise almost all upgrade parts needed 2 more blacklist members beaten in order to upgrade them. That means you cannot change the performance settings at all which is also a little frustrating. In conclusion, the game is great and I had a really good time playing it. I will play through Carbon now!

NFS MW and GTA San Andreas they will never lose their spots doesn't matter how bad their graphics are compaired with today's game graphics they will still be the games in terms of gameplay and very good stories

I remember getting hella bounty by going in circles around the baseball stadium, over and over and over again Good times 😭

I remember the intense ecstasy of escaping a 20+ minute chase. Few games have matched that feeling since.

There's just never going to be a better Need For Speed than Most Wanted or Carbon. Those were the golden years.

The intros you make for your video are insane, especially this one. The way Shapeshifter by Celldweller and Styles of Beyond plays while we see the M3 GTR racing away from the cops is so cool. Your editing and animating is of really high quality, best gaming channel I’ve come across in years!

1:25 - 1:50 the transition you did and the way you showed off nfs most wanted made me literally put my phone down, pop in NFS MW and got into a pursuit with the M3 GTR, while blaring that song. This will forever be the top dog in my opinion

You should absolutely take the time you need to get a video just right. Taking the time to play the ports was definitely worth it, and I thought it was the most amusing part of the video. I would much rather wait an extra week for the sake of quality.

I think the repetitiveness of Most Wanted 2005 is why I preferred Carbon since it was a quicker with better customization options but still had the option of police chases if the player wanted to do so.

14 years later, still the best NFS and the benchmark I judge every other NFS by.

What makes MW so addictive,is the career mode with the ''Blacklist''.It keeps you motivated to beat the next ''Blacklist'' guy or girl,take his/her car and then move to the next until you get to Razor and win your BMW back.It gets more and more challenging,but there's no difficulty spike and you also unlock new cars and parts.yes,you have to actually unlock them,there's no lootboxes or microtransactions.Also,the cop chases are very well done.

One thing i remember in this game is "Nice pinstripes"

Most Wanted, San Andreas , God Of War 2 and Resident Evil 4 literally defined my childhood and shaped my personality and music taste. I still have vivid memories of me playing them after all these years, It seems like only yesterday.. Video Games used to be so powerful.

Excellent video! While I understand where you're coming from about the repetition, I think that more variety and more development time might have cleared up some of these issues you had with it. That said, I replayed it not too long ago and had an amazing time. It didn't feel repetitive in the moment, but looking back I totally see where you're coming from. Definitely still worth playing for at least a little while.

Funny how i played nfs mw 2012 like last month and cannot remember a single blacklist member while mw 2005 that I played in 2007 and I still remember all blacklist and their cars

The BMW engine failure was one of the biggest subversions in racing games at the time no other racing games on consoles did that not even simulators

NFS Underground Rivals is honestly one of my favorite racing games...not just on a handheld, but period. I put so much time into it. I loved the body kits you could get for each car. Nearly all the customizable features for cars were fantastic and plentiful. Gameplay was great too. It felt grounded and still arcade friendly. Loved it! P.s. nicely done on this edit. Great critique. Couldn't agree more. This was one of my favorite PS2 games, along with hot pursuit 2. Never played another NFS after that. I think if I replayed today, I'd notice all the frustrations you mentioned here. However, playing an 11 year old back in '05, I thought it was a perfect game.

BROOOO you mentioned ALL the things I experienced with this game as a child. The pursuits were the peak. Me and my cousins were on our toes when one of us was doing a level 6 chase to complete some milestones. The cars, the customizations were just mind blowing for a 12 year old kid me. This was and is my favorite racing game ever made. I've went back so many times. Ive played most NFS games but this feel...I dunno if anything today can replicate that. GREAT VIDEO

Still the best Need For Speed to this day. Hell, I'd wager it's the best real-world racing game of all time. Just everything about this game - the music, the mechanics, the feel, the blacklist, the heat system, the car choice... Crazy how if I feel like playing a good NFS game, I have to turn on my PS2. How the great have fallen.

I Played this game as a kid multiple times and have nothing but good memories tbh. The thrill of the chases, the Grind through the Blacklist, the tuning and the excitement when buying a new cool car. I remember seeing the lamborgini gallardo in the beginning and really wanting to have it, then beeing utterly euphoric when I finally progressed enough and had enough money to finally buy it and tune it. This game is a big gem of my childhood and one of the most played games of that childhood

I have fond memories of this game as the only Need For Speed title save the first one I actually played, and the reason being that while racing games weren't really my thing at the time, I stumbled across an unopen copy sticking out of a snow bank at the local mall that someone had lost. I took it home, tried it out, and ended up spending many hours on it.

I really liked that double circuit races because it’s basically just racing down the freeway wich was basically what I have been doing all the time in free drive. It was basically free money, wich feels very nice.

I remember playing this drunk with a steering wheel and when I'd pass another racer, I'd look back (at my room wall lol) and yell "EAT MY DUST!"

Daaamn the goosebumps when that intro hit with shape shifter playing was serotonin inducing as hell. I only ever beat this game once when it first came out. After that I've never been able to for some reason or another.
