Now that’s an evil Speedster suit. Look at the detail of that thing! That is awesome! And now it makes sense. Iris’s time sickness, Dion going rogue, Armageddon. It was all part of a plan to give Thawne everything that he has wanted all along. He wanted to be the opposite of Barry, well now he has it all. He is now the avatar for the Negative Speed Force. The universe needed to be put back into balance because Barry messed with it by taking Thawne’s speed from him.

In the wake of this episode, I really hope Cavanagh-Thawne's apparent death here actually sticks. The Flash/Reverse Flash rivalry has long worn out its welcome, and i'd like to think that the moment where Barry declared that he was done fighting Thawne was - at least on some level - the writers acknowledging that. Realistically, they will probably come up with some sci-fi-babble bullshit to bring him back next season. But I really hope this is it for Thawne.
