@John.strong
@John.strong Год назад
@@p24p14 considering that they were looking to turbo it and install aftermarket pistons, the cost of machining the bore is about $200 in most shops in Sydney where they are To ensure proper piston to wall clearance on a build you want to last it is recommended to install oversize pistons to ensure the bore is 100% right The deck surface is normally $100 and a light pass should be done on any engine build even if it is just to dress the surface for head gasket mating What I'm trying to say is any machine work they would of had to of done would simply be just to build it the right way anyway Also all that machine work is far cheaper than the money they were talking about for buying another engine

@@John.strong Yeah but that's the money just to do pistons, sleeves and deck. That's not factoring in the cost of the parts, new parts like bearings and gaskets, the time, etc etc. A good rebuild is easy 2000$ without even factoring in the cost of labor.

There is no thinking done, it's just: here we can hit scenario B or C, caused by event 3 or 4 respectively. The one comment on here remotely like that the guy says. "It's a shame when somthing that's had a ton of work and a lot of money spent on it at some point.
