My big hug to mami....miss my grandma mami. She is great lady. Brought up 8 children on her own after my grandpa died when the last child was a month old. She worked in government hospital and used to visit us on her holidays...after her long night shift work. 3 hours bus drive from her place...when she reaches our place she will directly go to the nearby Market and buy Crabs and cook for us. Very loving grandma to all her 27 grandchildren. Really miss her a lot. 😥. Grandma's love is always the greatest. 💓
Amma. Only during lock down,i started to watch your videos. First time I prepared one pot Rasam Sadham. Now am a big follower of you. When I hear all your stories, I remember my Ammachi amma. I love you amma. I prepared butter by storing paal yedu Amma. Now am going to prepare ghee.
Mami I have no words to express my thanks...I feel like my grandmother is standing next to me and talking to me....the stories you say are more important than the recipe. Thank you again.
Best Best Best ... video ...... Thanks a ton ....
Mami you are just bringing back some of my old memories. When I watch your video I feel like my mom is there with me. Ganesh & family thank you for sharing the video.
while making ghee add a 1/2 tsp. of turmeric and a little hing or cardamom (depending on whether you use it for sweets or for savories). it will have a great aroma and color too.
My mom prepares ghee form butter very long but I used to get it from the shop. Today I thought of making home made ghee. Though I saw this video long back while I was doing ghee, the exact wordings kept lingering on my mind " Osai adangara varaikum kaichanum" made ghee keeping this in my mind. It turned perfectly. Thanks a lot.
@@dgn7729 Divya, mine as well turned brown. But my mom does only brown ghee which usually lasts longer than the normal yellowish ghee without any odor.
Thank you Ganesh for mami's talk. For me it was very nostalgic. I too come from a big 'samsaram' & have experienced all that mami said. "Enna thechu kulikarathu" used to be a big ritual. Pashumai niraintha ninaivukal. Thank you once again Ganesh.
Such a nice and useful video. I know people add curry leaf to prepare ghee.. I assumed that's to give some flavour. But only after watching this, I understood the reason behind that.. Nice to hear Patti stories..☺️.. I never thought watching a Ghee prep video wouldn't be very interesting.. 👌
Well said and can't agree more... just to listen to her explanations, examples and stories with the scientific reasons she gives sometimes..... just feel sooo connected to her :)

When mami was talking about her grandma, I was thinking about mine 😔. Naanum paati valatha ponnuthaan. Seriously nowadays it's not like what it used to be being attached to grand parents. The stories we hear n the way we live is all so different. Seeing my grandma in Mami's roobam. Thank you mami n Ganesh.

@@Agrahararecipes thank you. You house Tour video got me thinking..That laid back peaceful Agraharam living maybe worth a experience for lot of people.. Our own brahmin agraharam house in a small village was sold of by my uncle because our entire extended family had moved to cities and abroad. It was sold at a throw away price as none of us and our cousins showed any interest. Now that house is unavailable for buyback and we regret it so much..It was a huge house with 50 teak tree and 100s of coconut tree 'thope' in the back yard etc. I was wondering if a "Agraharam AirBnB" can be a thing ? Or perhaps it would be a pandora's box to ruining whatever is left thru commercialization. It could be a double edged sword but curious what yours and mami's thoughts are on that subject ?
I’m not a fan of commercializing. My grandma, father were born in that house. I was raised there and my son’s ayushomam was celebrated there. Most of us are abroad, but that will remain a family home.
Very touching video indeed. . neiyai vida ungaloda varthaigal manathai urukki vittadhu.. Please make a video on traditional skin care and hair care maami..a humble request:-)
Neenga sonna kathai took me to my childhood days mami.. kaila urutti pottu sapadu and nila choru with all cousins.. athelam golden days.. Naan epovume readymade nei vanga maten. Vennai kachithan nei panuven at home.. we get lurpak butter in dubai which gives very very tasty ghee..
Hello, Thank you for your video, though I dont understand your language, I do follow and try your recepies with the visual understanding :-) . I made ghee, with full confidence after watching your video today. However, what to do with that material left over at the bottom, The one you filter out. Can we use in making roti's or curries or any indian cooking ? or make laddu's ?

Live long Mammi!. We need to hear all your stories. I don’t like the smell of ghee for some reason but being a Malayalee, my mom almost everyday apply the squeezed Grated coconut on my face and hands. I never got Pimple. At that time I was annoyed bec. It was sticky and now I realize of it’s goodness and I miss my mom dearly. Your son is so lucky to have you.
Mami really enjoy watching your videos..so informative and brings back wonderful memories . Could you please explain uses of vengala paatram and the maintenance.Apart from milk and rice what can be cooked in it etc. Would love to know more ..thank you mami.
