The "After the Rain" video begins with a stark scene where an abusive father confronts his 18-year-old son, calling him a "worthless dreamer." When the boy puts on his Walkman, he falls asleep and the Nelson twins appear in apparition and take him through a wormhole to see a Native American medicine man who produces a magic feather and leads him to a lair where Nelson is putting on a concert. When he wakes up, the feather is by his bedside. They had a difficult childhood which inspired this song. According to Gunnar Nelson, the song's message is encapsulated in the line, "Don't be afraid to lose what was never meant to be." Says Gunnar: "That feeling got me through those dark years in high school.

As I say in some of my videos, that music can be a healer, and a teacher. Thank you for the back story and the quotes from Gunnar. Having people bring these personal touches into the comment section of videos leads to a more personal attachment to the music and their meanings in their songs.

I loved them - there's not a bad track on the whole album After the Rain. Their other albums were really good and all different. Not the same thing every time. They really didn't get the recognition they deserved. Love your reaction - it's so good to see someone acknowledge their talent. They are both excellent musicians.

2:21 I have always enjoyed the native American Indian part of this music video since I first watched it in 1990. I am native American Indian myself but never grew up on the res. Listening to music on the 16-thousand-dollar Alpine car audio system was nice back in the day. I was really big into car audio back then like most people were.

@@Crazykid949 I won many sound competitions with it. I always looked forward to upgrading my Alpine system every year with all new equipment. My favorite heat unit I had was the 7980 the first 3D in the dash CD shuttle. I also still have all my Alpine jackets hats t shirts from the late 1980s and 1990s.

Good song, good vocals, good band behind them. Those kids went through a lot of turmoil growing up. It's quite a story about Ricky and Kristin's marriage and eventual divorce. It's amazing the talent in their 2 families, from Ozzie and Harriet to Ricky and the twins. And Kristin's family too, so much talent there. Anyway I'm rambling here and getting away from the point, this video and song really hits hard. Fantastic song, I'll just leave it at that. Have a great night, my friend, ciao......

Yes this song really hits home for a great number of people. Their story of their past is inspirational basically coming from the ashes like a phoenix and creating such meaningful music.
