Couldn't both of them just come back? They deserve to come back to convert all this modern, rubbish music that nobody understands into the magical music they created a matter of around eighty years ago. I feel awful being a 15 year old knowing that great music like this is dying out and people in my school don't even acknowledge music like this because they are too busy in their own modern music. I wish the children of today were like the children back then. I wish my generation could love music, style and true romance like this. However I live in hope and in dreams. These two were the dream couple and only very few at the time could reach their standard. Now it is inevitable that nobody can. Thank you for sharing this interview as well as their most famous duet at the end. If only there were people like you that were in my generation to love and sing beautiful songs like this.

They owned several houses together used only for them until she died. They had an apartment together, which Nelson Eddys widow moved in to. Some say the studio forced her to marry Raymond and be his beard. My details may be off, but I believe their unending love for eachother is pretty well established now. Would make a interesting, but very.sad limited series. It's never easy or pleasant to leave a spouse, but why these two couldn't couldn't be together is hard to grasp. At least after their movie partnership was over, and she was out from under the studio heads they could have gone public. Each of their spouses already knew or suspected. So there is much more to the story than a simple case of loving someone married to someone else or a secret affair. Then there is the story of as many as 8 pregnancies by Nelson. All miscarriages. I'm sure many of those commenting here know much more than I do. Has anyone done a screenplay ? Or even a book that tells the whole story.

My grandma (who died a long time before I was born) was a huge Nelson Eddy-Jeanette MacDonald fan. Something is still so sweet and also sappy about those movies. I used to get rather goofy about the "Indian Love Call" scene. Plus they used to have some soprano sing that song at Camp Curry when they'd do the FireFall in Yosemite.

He's so IMMEDIATELY on the defensive when he is asked about a change in their relationship. Wow. And his frequent blinking and shortness of breath are indicative of the physical toll of his most recent hours. Think about it---he was in the middle of nightclub performances with his big booming baritone voice, but he's totally short of breath in talking during this interview. He's breathing very shallow breaths. It's very strange.

I think this interview was cut short because of Nelson Eddy's emotions, which is more than understandable. He had great courage to talk about this loss which was unexpected for him. It is very enlightening how he avoided saying anything about their true relationship about which I learned a lot, thanks to the work of Sharon Rich. I am a newcomer to the joy of listening to their music and I am always touched by their obvious affection for each other. Thank you for your work to make them better known and appreciated.

I think he looks and sounds great- He aged gracefully. This is what a handsome older gentleman looks like...after the love of his life is gone forever. Grief..not gaunt. THAT is what makes us old. Not years. When your loved ones start to go , one by one, they take part of you with them. Your energy, vitality, joy - it ages you. Ive seen people age 10 years before my eyes when I had to deliver terrible news. It happens to everyone but that doesnt help and there is no way to prepare or make it easier. Theirs was a secret love everyone knew about. They married other people who must have known and were hurt by it. It takes a toll. For Mac and Eddy it must have been torture, and stressful. Like an addiction. They could not quit eachother.
