let's go, I was super hyped for this build(I'm a huge fate fan), some suggestions, I would suggest archery over thrown weapon fighting cause it does work with darts(if you want to throw weapons), also Emiya does use a longbow and it's actually his best weapon (by that I mean the one he's most comfortable with cause he did archery from a young age even before all of the 5th holy grail stuff), also increased perception isn't an innate ability of the Archer class, however Clairvoyance(Haweye at later stages) and the Mind's Eye(True) skill are personal skills of Emiya, Archers only get Magic Resistance and their unique Independent Action (which essentially let's them survive without a master for a period of time depending on how how ranked the skill is for them). Also Emiya should've been a Tiefling cause he's Actually Satan(can't wait for someone to get this reference)
My reason for choosing Thrown Weapon Fighting over Archery is that while Archery adds a +2 to hit, Thrown Weapon Fighting adds a +2 to damage, which I felt was more important since it's pretty hard to miss with a +11. And based on what I found during my research, it seemed to imply that all Archers got some level of Clairvoyance, though that may be a mistake with the wiki I was reading. It also stated that him using a bow as the Counter Force was less a matter of him having any history or attachment to a bow, and more just what he settled into using because it was more efficient. I also never saw Heaven's Feel or Atraxia, so I don't know if he uses his bow more than he does in Stay Night and UBW. I'm pretty much just used to seeing him use his blades and tried to reflect that. Also I am legitimately curious about the Actually Satan thing.
@@tabletopnephilim4633 the Actually Satan is an inside joke from Fate UBW Abridged. It's actually a really fun watch and it's not too long so you can go through it pretty fast.
If you want the pocket world aspect of UBW the best you're gonna get in 5e is probably Demiplane + Animate Objects? Which leaves you with exactly two options. Swords Bard, or Bladesinger Wizard, since there isn't really a melee sorcerer option at the moment. In Pathfinder 2e you could probably make him as a Magus of some variety, and the above combination would be possible, along with Starlit Span to have the option to spellstrike at a distance for Caladbolg... but the hard spot in the build is actually Rho Aias, I haven't exactly scoured the spell sheets but I don't know if there's a personal barrier spell like that in the game. (Shield is a cantrip in PF2e which functions like a regular physical shield lol.)
Honestly it even makes sense to make him a Warlock cause he made a deal with the Counter Force Also cause he's Actually Satan (Actually part is important)
@@tabletopnephilim4633 Actually, this is just my interpretation, but EMIYA has been like my White Whale to build in DnD. The closest I have ever gotten are two options. One with UBW and the Flavor of EMIYA and one ONLY FOCUSED IN MAKING UBW HAPPEN. The one with UBW is my favorite though. Warlock (Hexblade) + Fighter (Eldritch Knight) You can go 6 Levels Eldritch Knight and the rest Warlock Pros: +Eldritch Blast can be flavored as a volley of Magical Arrows +Deal with the Counter Force as a Patron and EMIYA himself being the Hexblade. +Weapon Bond Allow to bond to "Kansho" and "Byakuya" and being able to Summon your Pact Weapon Longbow, being able to walk around "without weapons" like EMIYA. +You can actually Overload your Projections just like EMIYA by taking Eldritch Smite (Getting a Nuclear Caladbolg is possible) and use E Knight Spell Slots as fuel. + Finally, UBW.... The best I have found to actually replicate is either Demiplane + Animate Objects (Hexblade doesn't have Animate Objects) or Demiplane + A LOT of Eldritch Blasts + Hexblade Curse Dmg. It's not perfect, but at least gets the job of an Alternate Dimension.
@@tabletopnephilim4633I like Eldritch Knight + Hexblade because, just like EMIYA, it's a terrible spellcaster even though it's made of a Caster and Half Caster. It's very specific and unique to it's own thing, and that thing is fight in Melee/Range with some magic sprinkled in.
I thought they just threw their weapons willy nilly, who knew. (Fate Stay/Night has 2 Archers and both launch Swords at their opponents so this felt like a fun joke to make)
You picked Two Weapon Fighting and Thrown Weapon Fighting as the fighting styles? Don't you know that the Archer class is actually made of archers? Seriously, it makes sense given what we see of Emiya fighting. I would like to see you make more level 20 builds. It is just as you say, I watch your videos to see how YOU would make these characters; what options you would pick is what I am interested in. It is strange to think of Priestess (from Goblin Slayer) as a level 20 character, but it is also interesting to think about how she would develop as an adventurer.
@@tabletopnephilim4633 I'd like to point out that none of Shirou's redundant lines are actually redundant in context. "People die when they are killed" is him pointing out he has been killed multiple times and didn't die because of Avalon. "Just because you are correct doesn't mean you are right" is him pointing out the difference between factually correct vs morally right. Even the Prisma Illya line to Miyu makes sense because she doesn't know what a birthday is and how else would you explain a birthday to someone who doesn't know what one is. In truth the first truly redundant line is Rin's "The Archer Class really is made up of archers"
@@tabletopnephilim4633 the first stratem was called a city but, wasn't actually a city when Nero went there the first time so, when she goes there the second time and it's an actual full-blown city she's surprised
You know what i will suggets look up at bladesinger wizard , considering ignore the prerequisite and i will agree we need 3 lvl in fighter(elderich knight)
I'll admit, I hadn't thought of that. But doing so would cost us the spells from Eldritch Knight. And while some of the Arcane Archer's abilities are cool, the fact that you only ever get two uses per short or long rest makes it a poor trade-off.
@@tabletopnephilim4633 So I'm the DM in my home game and tbh I increase the samurais number of uses of Fighting Spirit and Arcane Arrows to the proficiency bonus. Although that's just me.
@@Mario.1997 Those are pretty good to use for house rules, but I try to stay official with my videos. Also I'm pretty sure the mulsticlass does add at least 1 extra slot, but the real problem is you'd miss out on the spells themselves that Ranger doesn't get.
