Nice work, Clean. Love it. You mentioned hiding those wires, I think finger duct would work well there for your application to hide the wires between the blocks. Great video.

One thing I really dislike about this 2016 model is the uk only get the old output 6ch unit. When I opened the box and realised this I was like a disappointed child at Christmas lol. We pay more in the UK too, so a big 👎👎👎👎 from the uk. But a big 👍👍👍 to your channel. Keep up the good work.

ReefDudes I've got the 2016 model but in the UK we don't get the new upgraded output unit ( Orange and sliver) we get the old classic type but still get the new controller. www.neptunestore.eu/en/neptune-systems-apex-2016-grade-lab-kit.html

Srange! i wonder why? I would be hard to justify the upgrade if your only getting the brain, the power socket monitoring was one of the main reasons for me... Is there some weird certification issue stopping them? I wonder why.

No prob! Thats was last weekends project! ended up being alot of work due to my "thin" control space but i think it worked out well!

for the wires you probably can 3D print a cover to put over the wire part like just the part that show the wires

Great detail on the change over, overall I do like the newer apex better...I like being able to access all menus and configure modules all from Fusion

Good point! i didnt really even consider that! I do like how i can monitor power now! Like turn of skimmer when return pump in feed mode! good way to get ecotech and apex to play nice :)

Well at the moment not much, but I've got big plans once I actually get some time to work on it! I plan to run my Theiling rollermats off apex optical switches, will use a solenoid to rinse the skimmer cup with fresh water, adding flow monitoring to the drains and my Abyzz return pump...blah blah blah..the possibilities are endless with the Apex!

help please im new to the neptune systems and in trying to connect 2 Mp 40's to one outle (by using a spliter) and sinking both of the pumps to wxm. i was able to connect one pump and i see it on my dashboard now. the secomd pump is blinking white,red and blue and when i press and hold the set button to attach it nothing happens it just stays blinking the same white, red and blue. do each MP40 need their own outlet in order to attach to wxm or can i have them both pluged in the same outlet by using a spliter?

It’s been ages since I used wxm it I believe you pair each pump to the WXM as I child/slave pump

So question here I got just nano tanks and nothing fancy Would an Apex JR be a better choice? I don't dose anything? so would the extra cost be a waste since I don't plan to go larger than nano .Any input as I have a tight budget so extra money spent isnt a good thing

Our Reef Tank I use power monitoring to tell when it drops in power (aka when in feed mode ) then I can trigger stuff on apex based on that

Hey reefdude, just a quick one, upon adding my bubble magus dc9 skimmer to feed mode a, and having it turn on 5 mins after return pump turns back on.....the bubble magus turns back on but you have to physically push and hold the power button for it to actually turn back on,,,,any ideas of a way around this....appreciate your time!

If you unplug it and plug it back in it will not auto start back up on its own?

ReefDudes , no but just found on the apex forum a guy with the same problem,,,,,he zip tied the on button on permanently and the controller has no problem with this, now once powered off then on...skimmer works perfectly....the power of the zip tie.....once again appreciate you taking time to answer all questions sir....

How did you get the wires for the drivers through the small hole,,,,my mp40 is hard wired....or did you take the driver apart....

I opened the housing and unplugged the connector from the circuit board :)

I have been using classic one for 3 months and I just got the Energy bar for apex 2016. I have no idea how to connect the new energy while I am still using the classic version please

Okay I just got confirmation that the EB832 will NOT work on a classic.

How do you setup an alarm and make equipment shut off or go to a lower power when the power goes out?

you need to have the headunit on battery backup as well as your internet router in order to get alerts of power outages. Right now my ecotech pumps are all on battery backup which is a seperate thing than the apex.

ReefDudes so I need a 12v power adapter to go from he head unit to the battery backup? Then do I need to program anything or will it do it automatically?

That at all you need. It will pull power from the 12v if it goes out I also have my 12v on a trickle charger as it runs my ecotech pumps as well :)

How do you get apex.local if you're off the internet wifi when you're connected to the apexwifi , I just keep getting no internet connection

Have you joined apex to your local wifi yet? If not it should have its own wifi signal that you connect to
