He's a "nerd". So he's entitled to behave like an asshole towards anyone that has a different opinion to what social media marketing campaigns dictate he must have.
Philip Pangrac Dude like...dude i fucking love pre worn-out shirts, super heroes, bacon and zombies like...bacon and zombies.. get it ? Bacon ? Hahaha im such a nerd. God im sick of facebook culture...i need to sit down.
Philip Pangrac Agreed! Where was all this Star Wars love when I was a huge nerd about it back in the '90s? I dare all Spider-Man movie fans to read something like the Clone Saga. And lets add "cult films" and B-movies to this, in light of Sharknado 3. Making a bad movie on purpose does not make it funny. Real cult movie fans watch stuff like R.O.T.O.R. and The Eliminators.
Michael Kuzmanovski so nerds are basically hipsters? "I loved Star wars BEFORE it was mainstream!" Dont be that guy. I always thought nerd simply meant being REALLY interested in a particular subject or hobby. Science nerd, movie nerd, comic book nerd etc.
Can Nerd Talk be a regular segment!?!?? I need to know what vapid direction I can put my money towards so I cannot focus on the emptiness of existence!!
Because being a nerd implies you're not proud about it. If you're proud, you're a geek. So people who call themselves nerds either mean that ironically (probably hipsters), or are actually ashamed of their favourite pastimes.
But also a criticism of nerds at well. Most pro-nerd arguments make nerds some sort of classy savants of film knowledge and science. But they are more sort of messy weirdos with hobbies.
They should rename all cinematic universes: "The over saturation of something that was once a small idea that was thought up and produced by just a few people that now has pointless backstory and spin offs for the characters no one cares about just because no one buys into original well put together film making."
Star Wars is racist. I am a purple person and I find it fucked up they didn't cast someone like me in the film. Mother fuckers. Racist. I'll have to contact Al Sharpton and have him make a speech or w/e I can do to complain and go to the next comic-con to put Abrams or whoever it is on the spot. YEAH! oh and good video you guys
trisymphony if the superhero movies didn't die in the 90s, they won't die now. Besides, how many dumb, shitty action or horror movies have been made in the last three decades, yet nobody bitches about those. Nobody is forcing you to watch these shitty Marvel knockoffs (especially the ones from Marvel :P)
6:10 Did you guys...did you Photoshop fake Batman movie posters in the style of Batman and Robin? At long last sirs and no madams, have you no sense of decency?
I have this weird feeling that half of these movies won't actually get made and are all announced to see fan responses and to please investors who see that Avengers money. Why do half of them have such specific release dates? They know that The Inhumans will be released on Nov. 2 four years from now? What the fuck? The last time such a specific date for a superhero film was announced years in advance we got Amazing Spiderman 2. Fuck me.
What does a set release date four years in advance have to do with the failure of one movie? Also the last movie who announced their release date four years in advance was Ant Man not amazing Spider man 2.
TheEpicEricblank It means it will be a rushed and lazy production. Ant Man had the director replaced because the other one was more interested in having the film be unique and quality over getting it out in time.
But every movie gets a set release date that they have to release by a certain date. It's just the Marvel are the only ones who announce their release dates for marketing purposes. Setting a release date four years from now is not rushing.
Thanatos388 Edgar Wright got replaced because he took more than 10 years to make his movie because he kept ditching work on it to work on his other products like Scott Pilgrim. Ant-Man was in production the same time as Iron Man 1. Under Wright, Ant-Man took almost as long to make as Avatar. I know we're supposed to always root against the big evil money making empire but sometimes they have actual reasons to do what they do.
***** Marvel didn't give him all the time in the world at all. They didn't give him a deadline because they never greenlit it in the first place. He was fucking waiting around to get it made, and had to prioritize other projects because Marvel had no faith in the property. Then once they finally said yes, they gave him zero time and wanted to change a ton of shit.
I'm glad they enlarged this concept into a different show. The Nerd Crew is maybe the most to the point commentary satire on the planet. These guys understand this stupid world so well.
A part of me is upset due to the heavy amounts of crap that Hollywood is going to be burying my childhood in... But the other half of me is ecstatic for the amount of content Red Letter Media now has to riff on.
Oda Swifteye With how many Superhero films are made, and how crowded the market is, expect there to be a quite a handful of stinkers from atleast each of the studios. Its inevitable, and they will harp on it.
I would actually love it if they made an R2D2 origin movie & it's just a really boring "how its made" documentary in a factory, narrated by Werner Herzog.
It's so awesome/funny that the covers of the Christopher Nolan Batman films in this video look like the covers to Batman and Robin, Batman Forever, and Batman Returns. They even matched the fonts perfectly. It's reasons like this why I love Red Letter Media. They always go all out on their jokes; even if they're simply in the background!! XD
Personally this is one of my favorite Nerd Talk episodes. The vistas really help sell the episode. You might say they talk too much about movies, and I don't mean to sound too philosophical but you could almost say life is a movie. It takes 30 years to make.
YIKES watching this in January 2017 makes me shudder in horror at how accurately their cynicism was for the following 18 months... Also, I got here after watching their "Rogue One" episode of their "regular" show "Nerd Talk". MORE PLEASE.
this is exactly how Religions appear and why they are so ...poorly writen. someone tells a good simple story. and then someone ad´s something and then someone ads somemore and then someone tells a totaly new story but with the same characters and then someone mixes these storys. etc etc
Zombiepull yeah i'm sure some of the greatest literary icons were inspired by 'poorly written' scripture. Pull your head out of your bum ya pseudoatheist.
Right now I've convinced myself that 100% of the movies in this video are fake. I have a sickening feeling I'm wrong, but please don't correct me. Sometimes ignorance _is_ bliss...
A huge sigh of relief for this. Nice to know I'm not the only Star Wars fan in the world who doesn't want the series' length to be doubled for no given artistic reason.
Only Kind of Media I can't understand why anyone - save the producers who'll profit from it - would ever want to see Han recast. The audience who let them get away with this kind of shit are the ones who annoy me.
***** Exactly. "Ooooh, more Star Wars! I don't care about anything! As long as it's more Star Wars!" Tons of people are born everyday. Many of them will see Han Solo as some awful, generic, *AWFUL* CW teen and not even recognize Harrison Ford. Same with Indiana Jones. Fuck Disney. Fuck all of Hollywood but double fuck Disney.
Only Kind of Media I hear you but I'm optimistic about Disney. They've allowed Marvel to produce good movies, if loads of them. The Star Wars bunch might do the same. But - man, I like endings. I'm concerned that Star Wars will just go on and on forever now, and the end of 'Jedi' will be meaningless soon. We'll see, I guess. That trailer does look promising.
Is it sad that I remembered the Batman comic Rich was reading from my childhood? That was from the Knightfall saga from 1993 (issue 8 or 9 I belive)... How nerd of me...
I'm glad to see that gamers are not the only ones that are mad about people that don't know anything about the hobby they cultivated for years coming in and making it a cash cow for the masses. Hopefully stuff like this, one day, will end. Maybe
I read the title and automatically knew it was a parody of Nerdist News, SourcefedNerd, and the like just because of how out-of-character it is for RLM.
10:41 “Boba Fett is cool because he’s mysterious” well looks like Disney didn’t learn, and looks like Rich is almost right. I say almost because what if those last two episodes of Boba fett are amazing, but as of now, this show is pretty mid.
That quote pretty much sums up why SW has sucked since after ROTJ. It was an inspiring fairytale I'm space, but no one (not of the guy who started it) understood what made it good.
I actually think a Fett movie could work if they did it right, and retained the mystery the character had before AoTC. It would have to be a spaghetti western-esque movie, very similar to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. An origins movie? No. But simply a movie in which Fett is one of the major characters? I think that could work.
That line about it's OK to say you're a nerd as long as you aren't actually a nerd is about the most truthful statement I've heard in months. When I went and saw Jurassic World, I was sat behind 3 dudebrahs who literally said "Fucking sick dino bro!" when the Indominus turned up.
When you're actually in high school, read comics and sci-fi novels in my room, have an interest in science, play video games, and have arthtis. Why'd you have to do this to me guys?
It's so weird that there was a time that all these movies and spin-offs were still to come and now they are all behind us... well, except for poor Gambit and Cyborg...
Finally, another person who appreciates Ben Affleck Daredevil! My favorite part of the movie was when Bullseye pointed to the bullseye on his forehead and said, “Bullseye” I clapped because it reminded me of how important family is
