Haven't used my Nespresso in about 2 weeks. It clicks and makes this noise now then flashes the white light two times, pause, two times, pause etc. Suggestions?
I just had the same thing happen to mine when I tried to use it earlier today. After some searches on the Net, I found the answer that worked for me. Unplug the machine. Remove the water reservoir and the used pod collector from the sides. You can now place the machine either on its side or upside down (they said upside down, I put it on its side). Open the top as if you were going to put in a pod. You have always heard it when you put a pod in and closed the lid and have seen the results of it when you ejected a pod, but there is a disc that has a series of small "teeth" that are used to puncture the top of the pod to get at the coffee. When you look at the "underside" / "inside" of the top of the machine, you will see the disc with its teeth on it. Careful as the teeth are sharp (not a huge surprise here since it has to puncture through the metal pod). This disc should be able to spin "freely" - that is, you should be able to use one finger to spin it around. When I checked mine, it wasn't spinning freely. That was the clicking sound because the disc was trying to spin and was slightly blocked. I applied a little pressure (not a lot at all) and the blockage went away. It turns out that, as time goes by, there is a build-up of coffee grounds on and around the disc and this creates a blockage (I think of it like plaque that builds up on your teeth). It was suggested that a wet towel used to clean the area would do the trick. As I mentioned, I applied a little pressure and the blockage on my machine was broken and the disc could spin. I then used a paper towel soaked in hot water and cleaned the disc and the side of the disc that spins and got a fair amount of coffee dust off of it. After this cleaning, the disc was spinning more easily (more freely?). I then put the machine back in the upright position let it dry for a couple of minutes. I put back the water reservoir and the used pod collector and put in a new pod and let it go. It worked just the same as before. Hopefully you have already found this solution but if not, give this a try. I had some difficulty finding the solution online, but I found this video pretty quickly, so if anyone else has this problem, hopefully they'll find this comment and this fix will work for them as well. Cheers.
Hey Nicki, You nailed it! I had the same problem and even tried going through Nespresso customer customer over the phone which was a lengthy call and they could not solve it. They ended up suggesting I buy a replacement machine. Luckily I found your instructions and this fixed it in minutes. Thanks so much for making my day! I'm keeping your instructions for the future as well since I expect this to happen again at some point. Bravo for sharing!!
A million thank yous to you. I had to run hot water over the disk after wiping it with hot water several times didnt work but now my machine is working like new. Thanks again!!!
Thank you for your video! My 5 year old machine was really gunky and it took several rounds of dislodging the spinner and soaking with a wet cloth. I finally turned it over under the faucet and rinsed it several times to get under the spinner. Happy to say, my Nespresso is back working like new!
Watched the video and said "That's exactly my problem." After a couple attempts at breaking it loose and finally holding upside down under the sink faucet and using the sprayer I have a new machine. Thank you.
Thank you for thisw video! I googled the issue and your video poppped up and was exactly what was happening to Nespresso machine. Fixed it in 2 min. Thanks, thanks, thanks!!
I washed mine in the sink and this happened. I turned it upside down for a few hours and it worked again. My feeling is i had water on the read sensor because it tried to read the pod and then it would flash, and until i unplugged it, thats all it would do with a push. Except that 3 pushes did result in a clean cycle. since it doesn't read a pod. I have a Spinn on order so tearing this down will only happen if i have an error in the next 6 months.. BTW i use an aluminum foil disk (made with a 3d printed cookie cutter), and fill the pods with whatever coffee i buy. Works fine, a little messier. You have to save the pods. Been running it this way for over 2 years.
I had the same issue. My bearing was totally seized up. No amount of cleaning would have unstuck it. I ordered a new one on Amazon and replaced it using this guy’s video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vT-6lHBTfgI.html
Thank you so much for Making this video. I just purchased a used Nespresso and it was having same issue . I had my brother watch the video And viola ! He was able to fix it ! Thanks again for sharing !!
This worked! Took a few tries...I used a tiny flat head screw driver with a wet paper towel to go around the edge of the top spinner...there was lots of dried coffee in there. THANK YOU!!!
The double white flashing with water properly flowing could mean the machine is still on the descaling/cleaning mode. Press and hold the button for 7s (maybe 10s to be safe) to exit the cleaning mode. I had descaled it; then I followed the comment above to clean the coffee grounds (my parts were spinning freely); but couldn’t make coffee because of the double flashing white light. Finally, Ifound this hint on pages 20-21 of the manual and I was able to exit clean mode and make me a fresh coffee.
After cleaning the disk area and feeling the resistance resolve I thought I was set, but on plugging in my Venturo I still got the exact behavior as shown in the video. Thought I was stuck. But THANKS to your suggestion (ytp3n) I pressed the button and held for tens seconds. Then the Venturo worked like normal, and operated more quietly than it had in a couple of years. I've only made one cup, but it appears to be in working order. So I guess I had accidentally and coincidentally entered descaling mode, that is, on top of the stuck disk. And thanks for including the reference to pp 20-21 of the manual.
When I turn on my coffee machine I see the double white flashing. I clean the disc area before and I have only problem with double blinking. Then I tried to press and hold button for 7s. The machine turned off. When I press the button one more time to turn on the machine I see the same double blinking. If I changed the mode to locked and tried to press and hold button for 7s nothing happend, the same double blinking.
I tried 3 other suggestions and this worked. I used the kitchen sprayer to loosen it up and then let it dry. Once the wheel was spinning it worked like new. Thanks so much
I am so happy!!! My Nespresso sounded like it was jammed and clicking. I unplugged it and flipped it over, and opened it- checked around the disc with the teeth and found a small 1/4 inch long of a metal cylinder was stuck, and it popped out. It is odd - and probably part of the device that dislodged, but anyway it is working now. I hope for a good long time. I have had mine for 4 years and never any trouble. I hope Nespresso reads these!
I did this just now. Turned my unit on its side and spun the wheel. It stuck at first then spun freely. I cleaned it, and made a pod of coffee. Thanks!
