Quick notice, the Nest Secure has been discontinued by Google Nest, and is no longer for sale. You can still expand your system with Tags, and Detects.

I have been researching a self monitored home security system for a week. I have watched tons of videos on different systems but this was by far the best and most useful video and has convinced me that the Nest Secure is the system I want. Thanks

I SO AGREE! While all other tech RU-vidrs focus on things like laptops and specs, he focuses on the this that we WILL actually use like the iPhone silicone and leather case.

I own the Nest system & this is by far the best instructional video I've seen for it. One for the Nest Protect (smoke & carbon monoxide) would be a great addition.

great review! one question does the motion sensors detects just heat or does it also detect "objects" that moves around? thinking of placing one on a wall facing against the front door and see if it detects movement on the door handle if someone is touching the door. or if someone tries to open the letterbox.

Hi ! Please tell me there is any interlink program or nest app works with nest thermostat with nest security system? Because nest thermostat has motion sensor and home / away signed. The thermostat motion sensor detector can also works as the one they supply with security system!

Hopefully it'l work in Canada wrt. cell alerts; one of the big 3 should offer something similar to T-Mobile. Really like the simplicity of thew whole system including the tags which can be given to say, your cleaning lady when they arrive.

Great video review. Nest products are great. I already have the Nest Thermostat and just purchased the Nest Hello Video Door Bell. If you have a bigger home with more exit and entry points, you would need more sensors. But this system is do it yourself monitoring. Is there also a way to alert the Police through the system?

Never talked about the monitoring service, nor does it have all the features my simplisafe system has. I love nest though, bought their thermostat when it first came out (was on the waiting list before release).

This sounds great and all, but if you want home or business security, wouldn't it be more effective to have a closed circuit network that directly records to a storage device with backup storage and backup power?

Can the power cable easily be pulled from the guard itself, the plug has a bracket, but does the power in port have any protection?

King Yoshi doesn’t look like it, no extra brackets in the box. I’m surprised they didn’t just put a screw hole in the part that plugs in. I was just picturing someone quickly unplugging the unit and throwing it in the toilet. Your neighbor isn’t going to bother if they only hear a brief noise so every second you can delay them from disabling it the better.

I installed these detects on all of my kids bedroom doors. Does anyone know how to bypass or ignore the open/close monitoring when in "Home mode"? My little ones will be setting off the alarm when they go use the bathroom.

Good product, just needs a way to hook up to an external alarm too. People can just shut the door to stop the sound spreading or just destroy the alarm. If there’s an external alarm at least it can’t easily be shut off.

Great video. I was curious how the newly forced upon consumers Google Assistant integration process is going ever since this video was posted. I know you've done reviews of virtually every nest product in the Google store, and would like to know if these changes have impacted how you use the devices, or how they operate between each other.
