OK I’m a little confused isn’t this supposed to be a moisturizer but all I keep reading is you have to put a moisturizer over it to lock in the moisture so forgive me if I’m a little confuse that I spent $25 on this to moisturize my face to only be told I have to put another moisturizer over it am I wrong?
Hi, I actually use it on damp face. I use an essence and follow with a serum and while skin is still damp from remaining water and serum it locks moisture nicely :) if lazy I use it directly on damp skin and follow with cerave cream :)
after putting it on the damped face, is it likely to disrupt any serum efficacy such as niacinamide or vitamin C serums or hyaluronic acid serum? or should i use serum first before this moisturizer?
Omg thank you for this!!!! I bought it too but I was one of those that felt like it left me dryer!!! Can’t wait to try it out again using this method!!!🤗
Thank you so much because I was so using it wrong I have dry skin and was using it as a stand alone moisturizer and my skin got so dry then I used my other moisturizer on top and my skin felt amazing!!
Oh my word😱😱 this is exactly what is happening to me. Every morning I wake up to find my skin extremely dry/pealing off. One thing I good thing I notice about it is that it is drying out my ance pimples, most probably I need to layer oil on top of it. Thank you so much for your advice. 😊😊😊
Question. 1st time using the hydro boost gel cream today. I used my Naturium niacinamide serum followed by my Naturium Retinol serum and then applied the hydro boost while my face was still kinda damped and absorbing the serums . After 5-10min my face was done absorbing all the products and my face felt so smooth! Just wondering whats your thoughts on these applications? Is this fine ? Or do you think this will run a problem? Again 1st time using this hydro boost today
Goodness so now i have to go and buy another product. I started using the face wash and the serum, and the moisturizer last night.. no issue but i guess ill add something else also
You can over use hylauronic acid and it can have reverse affects so if I use a serum with it I don’t use a cream as well I use 1 or other because at first I got really dry using cleanser serum cream and had nothing to lock it in and just layer it on but now I love hylauronic acid now I have the balance right
I know you just started tretinoin and I just started using tretinoin this week, about 4 days ago. I follow Dr. Dray's routine with slight alterations. I also have been using it every night and wanted to share what I do At night : 1. oil cleanse with avacado oil 2. Cleanse with Dr. Bronner's Castile liquid soap in lavender 3. Moisturize with Neutrogena hydro boost gel for extra dry skin on wet skin 4. Immediately after, I apply cerave moisturizing cream (let dry a few minutes) As the cream dries I add vaseline to my lips, eyelids, and under eye to keep a barrier between that skin and the tretinoin 5. Lastly I add a 1/2 fingertip (large pea size) amount of the .025% tretinoin all over my face avoiding the previously mentioned areas During the Day : 1. Steps 2,3,4 without the vaseline on the eyes 2. Apply a mineral based sunscreen And that's all, I hope that this helps with the side effects
Hey guys, u know what I do and is kind of a hidden secret is put a layer of water on your skin before applying your moisturizer, so your water is locked in. U can also do this with all moisturizers.
@Kristine Wilson I bought this cause normal moisturisers are shiny and oily. So are you saying I cannot use the Hydro Boost water gel as a moisturiser on its own? Are u saying to put a normal moisturiser on after it? Wont this make my face shiny and oily then?
Heyy. I wanted to know if I can use this cream like this. 1. Cleanser Cera ve / Neutrogena Hydro boost cleanser 2. Salycil acid 3. Niacimide 4. Neutrogena Hydro boost gel cream 5. Garnier botanical cream with green tea / Alverde with bio grapefruit & bio sanddorn Thank you for answer
I just bought this today and am going to try it tomorrow. Thanks for the information. I wish Neutrogena would let people know that they may need to put a moisturizer over it. Seems like the right thing to do.
My question is if you’re supposed to have your face damp when you put this on but you’re using the vitamin C capsules or the retinol before you put this on is it OK to have your face damp when you put retinol or vitamin C on your face ?
Exactly this is how you should use any gel and water based product that's light in texture. Always apply a thicker moisturiser with occlusive agents on top of it. And spf 50+ PA++++ course
Hi! I am using Estee Lauder ANR before putting this on, and then I mostly do not put anything over it. Please suggest if using both in combination would be alright?
Well dhu it’s an HA/Hyaluronic acid. It needs to be put on damp skin, as it binds water. If on dry skin it can lead to epidermal water loss. Why most products aren’t shitty. It’s just people who doesn’t do their research beforehand to make sure they know the ingredients and how to use it properly!
No, because basically, the hyaluronic acid contained in the hydro boost penetrates the skin, and most moisturisers contain ingredients specialising in locking in moisture. So essentially, the moisturiser acts as a thick cream to layer over the hydro boost to ensure it doesn’t escape, taking extra moisture with it. Hope this helps! ❤️❤️
