Never Giving Up - Winning Through Tilt - League of Legends 

I was Gold 5 for very long time. I watched Thorins video, "You are elo hell" and I changed my mentality, and I'm now Gold 4 with 8 wins out of last 10 games (And since I'm duo queueing with my friend [who asked me to carry. wtf, he's higher rank, but he calls me a reliable person] I'm playing against Plat players, and we are equal, so I see my improvement). I stopped playing mechanically hard champions that are flashy and you can outplay people, I stopped considering myself better and I refined my basics with farming, zoning, team-fighting, peeling for adc.

This is why you don't rage at your team mates when they lose lane or something. The only reason I ever want to forfeit is if the game is going to end in a minute anyway, or everyone is raging at each other while we're behind. Especially don't get mad at them if they're playing some easy champ that can come back easily like Viegar or things with good wave clear like Yasou or Riven. Those two things make comebacks so much easier if someone back doors all their turrets or if Viegar gets fed enough to 1 hit someone. Think about how many games you ended up winning after you totally roasted someone in chat. Very few.

I was winning a game doing this, then the most annoying shit happens... I hear this from downstairs "Come eat" It is the most deadly sentence in the whole world

I've been steadily watching through your videos, and only just got to this one, but this made me think of a game I played just last night. Coincidentally, I was actually playing Yasuo myself, even though I haven't played him very much in months (if not longer), and I was facing a Gnar top lane, and while I felt I did alright at first, it didn't take long before their mid laner, Diana, started wracking up kills, and helping Gnar just shut me down. I was actually starting to tilt, and even was complaining a bit to my teammates, though not raging at them, just expressing my frustration with how poorly I was doing. But our bot laner, Talon, told me to just roam and help the team, and give up the forward top lane tower. I picked up my first kill, along with two towers by helping bot lane, and interestingly, the kill was Gnar, when he finally teleported bot lane to protect the second tower. After that, we played a bit defensively, mostly looking for openings, and our jungler, Lee Sin, suggested I farm the jungle for a bit until I could afford a few damage items. At the time, I didn't have much damage, just movement speed, crit, and a bit of tank, via Phantom Dancer. But once I got my Infinity Edge completed, along with my second BF Sword (for my bloodthirster) i started doing really well in fights. I still died a few times, but I was doing enough damage to slaughter just about anyone on their team, provided they didn't gank me 3+ to 1. In short, my team pulled together, and while I did not carry, I was able to avoid feeding, and farm until I could be useful to the team, and helped Varus get fed, and carry us to victory. This was kind of a new experience for me, and it's interesting to me that it happened before I watched this particular video, which seems to parallel my experience quite closely. Anyways, I really appreciate these kinds of videos, and I look forward to getting through more of them in the days that follow. Peace!

thanks red, this video is just what I needed. had a horrible game yesterday and I was just in complete salty rage afterwards. luckily I had enough composure to not say anything i'd regret in that game's chat (Canadian Powers GO lol). what you said during the video helped a lot and helped me remember that even the greater elo players get bad games as well and there is always hope for a win as long as you and your team just don't rage and you play to your best

this is so true! when i get people in silver and bronze and some gold asking me how to climb the first thing i say is dont rage. ONE team fight can change the whole game no matter how fed or behind someone is.

I changed my mentality towards ranked a lot. If I go 2-5 win streak and then loose I quit for the day, and come back tomorrow. If me or my teammates(s) are having a bad game, don't give up. Little scenario: I remember one game I was playing jungle shyv, we were getting stomped on, team wanted to FF. I somehow talked them into not giving up, grouping up, I knew we could come back just if we just focused on defence and farming. Eventually after what seemed like forever. we moved out of our nest and fought them we got the ace we were looking for, and ended game. This was 60+ minute game ending blue less than 40 kills (team and I) and red 50+ kills. This game I will remember as I had a lot a fun and learned a lot about shyv and myself. (Jungle main now btw)

I'm going to be truthful with you, your video of the challenge with those 5 things to try get better with helped me a lot in rankeds and even normals, because now I'm all chill when my team is feeding or I am feeding and not flaming my jungler or smth! :D So thank you a lot, because that video made me think about the game in a different and probably a better way! :)

I just played a ranked game after watching this video, just because I wanted to be positive.. and seriously, I ran into the most positive team in my 5 years of playing league of legends.. when I say not a single word of negativity, I mean NOT A SINGLE. WORD.. having fun talking to each other, copying what each other said for fun, and basically enjoying the game... even when I wanted to yell at someone for not doing something, the atmosphere and the way they talked positively made me think about what I did wrong instead of blaming teammates. This is the game League was MEANT to be.... and these are the type of games that make you want to keep playing League..

Thanks for making a type of video like this. I was 1/3 against a LeBlanc when I was playing Zed. Yet my team was also doing bad but we just stayed calm. Then just like you said, their LeBlanc got cocky and I kept out playing her then coming back easily.

Because of this video,I was on a huge winning streak in normals. Had the baddest early games but then my team picked it up

I sometimes have teammates that just rage and make the team go on tilt. Like this one time, I was playing TF mid lane (not my strongest champ) and the enemy team picked Leblanc. I die to her once from not respecting her burst and then our jungler starts flaming me every minute. He just continues to nag. The degree of flame goes up to the "get cancer and die" level. It happened in the gold elo. After that I usually always ignore the person that starts to annoy me. They say something irritating once, I let it slide. If they continue I just ignore them for the whole game and report them after. It prevents me from going on tilt.

At first when I read the title I was thinking that maybe you was talking about C9's 2 time reverse sweap. C9 FTW!

This is so true. I was playing as Jayce and getting destroyed in the midlane. I just kept pushing as far as I could, out-running the enemy mid on my way bot, throwing out what I could and helping ADC get kills. Rinse, repeat. In teamfights, I got enough assists to be well-off enough, and chunked them out to get picked off (black cleaver+the spellblade stuff=free kills for ADC). After losing all of our towers (ALL), our strategy was to just keep sending a Darius top to keep them distracted while we kept the base safe, set up, took baron, and then converged on their base (Me focusing towers and them distracting enemies). We won after 57 minutes. This would not have worked in a ranked game.

I understand your point, but please don't convey the message of "never giving up". There are times in the game where you simply can't come back (granted, it takes some knowledge of the game to identify those times) but some people will still refuse to let go. I like fighting to the bitter end too, as long as there some palpable chance of winning, not just because.

Redmercy they changed that cool zed trick u showed us where he could throw a q and cast w so the shadow would cast the q after. Damn Rito.

Wow.. i just did the same thing but with leona lol. We were losing hard early game and my teamates refused to surrender. We take all the opportunity we had and we finaly won the game ... such a great feeling

W - Living Shadow SHADOW MAGIC Fixed a bug where casting Razor Shuriken before Living Shadow would allow the shuriken to be cast from the shadow This is the patch on Zed and I think this fixes the quick shuriken techinique you showed in the last zed video. You probably already know, and this might even not affect it, but yeah just warning.

thing is u had a really well rounded team with a supreme lategame which made it easier for you although I have experienced that comebacks in lower elo happen alot due to the higher frequented mistakes

What he said about that brain chemical thing is more than true. I once played a game after a week of studying and no games at all. Thought " wtf.. I play 5 games in a row and lose like fuck. Now after a week... Let just play for fun.. " it turnt out that i played so well, everything was soo soo comfortable.

Alot of people still have to learn this. I basically quit league due to these reasons, I used to rage and blame but I am very calm and collective now. No matter how hard I try to keep the peace people still rage. I am only Gold w/ plat MMR but man. worst times to play - Summer / Holidays, kids are off.

It happened to me 2 days ago. I was playing mid with Vel'koz, not doing that great (1/2/1) my teamates were all loosing there lanes. We were like 7 kills to 25. But instead of raging and blaming them, I gank with our jungler (amumu) and got realy fed. Knowing that amumu is a real carry in teamfights, Iknew our team would be able to come back (moreover Vel'koz damages are just insane!). Finally we won the game (55/45 for us).

Yah yep....I knew about the psychology behind tilt and I do agree try to take a break and if you want try another game I play League and when I get jacked around I play WoT...which at times is way more stressful then League lol

I also have had a bad problem with tilt as well, but! I've been getting way better at it! I was in b5(yes one of those people) doing awful, but then I stopped using the chat and tried just focusing on csing getting kills snowballing lanes and now I'm b3 with 70 lP and trying to get to gold or silver. :3

This is how i feel about Vayne. Even when i lose lane, i feel like i can still contribute more than their AD when i get Botrk + PD. (Unless their AD is ridiculously fed and can just 1 shot everyone) But with the recent server changes kiting has been so sluggish for me and that's unfortunate because im trying to climb to plat before the season ends. Damn you Riot :[

The sad part about this is not that there will always be players who will rage when they or their team falls behind, regardless if it because they're 1 LP away from promos or they are IN them, whatever. What's sad is that the people who will benefit from this the most will NOT look for videos like this for help, making them incapable to advance because somehow they keep forgetting that this is a team-based game and will only look to make themselves a better -user rather than being a good teammate. And until they realize every point you made in this video, they are gonna fail to advance, keep themselves down and if they've infected their teammates with it, that's GG for everyone.

One things to note is the reason you are getting camped, if you keep getting poked they will see an easy kill so stay back and wait for your jungler to find the patters so you can make the most out of their over extensions.

One thing to do in Solo Q when this happens is to hide your chat...its WAY TOO RARE to see a team that wont rage so its better if you just hide your chat on the side , it helps ALOT in making you focus on the game regardless of you tilting or not .

some people say that winning feels good ,,,, but i think coming back from a lost game is the real feelsgoodman so that's why i never tilt in my games ,,,,, and making players like that lb Q_Q at the end of the game makes it so satisfying to try to comeback instead of tilting and crying all game

You can't just hope your team doesn't say anything bad in chat. The other day I did something me and my friend like to call a "mental carry". You might not be ahead in any way, but you try to keep the positive mindset in the team.

Idk if anyone experienced this before, but I've been on tilt more than a hour, last month, for the whole fucking entire month, I haven't been able to play well at all, for completely no reason what so ever, but now I'm able to play well and back at plat 1 :D

For me the main thing is focus, and the #1 way to lose it is having to worry about how to be playing a champ you don't know.

I played 2 ranked games after watching this video! .....I lost both times because we had a jungler that didn't do jack s**t. And on the last one we didn't have a proper comp because first three picks were squishies, and last slots were mid and ADC. :(

i had the same thing. tilting because i missplayed my ult 2 times and died. but after one good ult i got a triple kill and after that 2 more tripple kills.

Guys dont just wait for enemys to make mistakes and take an advandage for it. This prob wont happen. Try to get at least 1 lane ( adc if u can ) snowballed from early on and then peel for him on fights. Or u can do what i like to do, rotate and pressure. U and your team can avoid fights even tho u are behind. u can send like your adc at bot and your top laner at top pushing at the same time. Enemys will have to stpo both and they prob wont just send 1 person to them. Meanwhile your jungle, midlaner and support will be doing baron and the enemys wont know shit. And then u can siege mid and take a mid inhib which will put u ahead. After that just secure all inhibs without losing anything from your base, look at the map for posible tp's and never, but NEVER get cought.

Not to mention you had Skarner on your team :D

It's a well known fact in league of legends. people who get ahead dont know how to use the advantage they have so they end up losing the game cause they give enough time to the other team to farm and catch up . It happens every once in a while . Usually tilting takes over and gets those surrender votes stacking !!
