It’s not only that it’s sealed, it’s also Rythmik designed and servo controlled. I bought an FV15HP and it changed my life. Welcome to the club!

@@Sloimer I don’t think so, but I’ve never heard any of their other subs and I don’t know your space requirements. But I also wouldn’t look at it as regret if you want more bass, it would just be the first step in a good multi-sub setup. 3 or 4 subs is much better than 1 big one. Have fun!

Well said, and sound quality has a great deal to do with proper implementation. I’ve not heard the Rythmik F25HP, but I would guess it sounds more similar to other brands sealed subs than ported, particularly with the servo tech.
@mwrightinsurance
@mwrightinsurance 2 года назад
@@healthynutster Thank you. I’m assuming meant my FV(vented)15hp. And yes, I believe it has the ability to exhibit the desired characteristics of sealed and/or vented enclosures with the servo and the tuning options that it has. My only gripe is the port noise, but that’s pretty tricky to combat when you achieve great sound quality above 20 Hz and high SPL down to 10 Hz.

This year I picked up two sealed Rythmik E15s replacing my SVSs and absolutely no regrets - impressed on how well they blend with my other speakers - like you said the quality of the bass is great for music and movies - no fancy app but that’s the anthem processor’s job - love these Rythmik subs

Smaller in cabinet volume BUT dual 15" vs one 13.5". The rythmik has tons more cone surface area. Also sealed subs benefit from room gain more than ported, especially in smaller to medium sized sealed rooms. They'll dig wayyyyyyyy deeper because of that :) I wouldn't be surprised if you getting near 100db around 8-10hz.

In theory the dual 15" Rythmik is the equivalent of the SVS PB16-Ultra in terms of output so it's definitely an apple to apple comparison. My preference has always been for flatter more transient bass and I'm a happy camper that Rythmik decided to introduce the dual opposed design. Although for my space two of the dual 12" Rythmik (G22) is more practical.
@deankim6687

Rythmiks ported 15” is like their sealed 15” in medium damping mode, per Rythmik. I didn’t get their ported because of size and port chuffing, which I understand all ports do at some point. Sealing a ported sub makes is slightly tighter, but not like a sealed sub, because of the size of the box, per Rythmik.

@@demonreturns4336 I've commented on some of his newer videos about them. I suppose my expectations were too high for these subs. They were cleaner than my two cheapo subs and dug deeper but I wasn't feeling what everyone described. Even got a minidsp and umik1 to calibrate them more finely. I probably should've returned them but the window passed me as I kept trying to mess with them and make them sound as best I could. Now, I've moved recently and I'm about to set them up in the new place. I'm hoping that maybe it was just the room I was in before that affected the performance. Just to clarify, they're not bad by any means. I just expected to experience things people described. For example, in an action film being able to feel bullets ring out into your chest almost as if you're the one being hit. I got these from their outlet sale and got a little more off for going dual. Even for the reduced price I don't think it was truly worth it for me. I should probably also remember that this is only tier 2 of the SVS sub line up so maybe the higher ones have more to offer... Anyway, in the next few weeks, hopefully I'll remember to let you know how they sound in the new location. My advice for you so far is to go out and find a place to test different subs. Who knows, you might find one better suited for you around the same price or cheaper.

I can either choose to have the volume displayed in negative decibels, or positive numbers. If I use positive numbers, is "reference" level considered the highest volume level? lol, maybe the sealed subs that youl istened to had underpowered amps or not enough speakers. I have 4 Definitive Technology Supercube subwoofers, each comes with 1 speaker+2 bas radiators: Home Theater room: Supercube SC6000 (by the screen) has 1500 watts and 3 speakers, Supercube SC2000 (behind my seats) has 650 watts and 3 speakers, driven by Denon AVR-X3700H receiver Family Room: Supercube SC6000 (by the screen) has 1500 watts and 3 speakers, Supercube SC2000 (behind my seats) has 650 watts and 3 speakers, driven by Denon AVR-S760H receiver

Good speakers don't need ports.

Depends on the room in my opinion, any sealed sub is going to sound anemic in a large room (20x20feet or larger) for movies when compared to an equally priced ported one. However in smaller closed off rooms I would definitely be more open to either design.

@@mrpmj00 the passive radiator subwoofer is equal to a ported subwoofer assuming you have 2x the surface area of the main woofer. Passive radiator subs are always more expensive than ported due to the fact that passive radiators are more expensive than plastic tubes and a bit extra wood to account for the loss air volume of the port taken up. Good ported subs will have low enough port velocity to not get chuffing. Personally I have 2x HSU vtf2-mk5 ported subs with 1300w peak with a 12" woofer. They came with port plugs but they just don't have the same kind of feel with them plugged up compared to the 1 port tune that gets me decent output down to 15/16hz. However the main reason I say sealed subs in a large room will sound anemic (in comparison to ported) is due to room gain which is extra output that is added based on the largest dimensions of your room. Pretty much all sealed subs will start to roll off at a certain frequencies and the hope is that the room gain starts where your subwoofer rolls off. Whereas ported (or passive radiator) naturally have the output and don't rely on room gain to make it work.

As far as subwoofers are concerned there is REL and there is RYTHMIK and if one has got good ears then one will be able to forgive me for getting everyone else. 😁

I wouldn't say small houses. My room is too small for this sub. You can get some pretty large sealed subs. Check out funk audio
