Good morning Kpaceguy. It's "damping", not "dampening". Damping is an influence within or upon an oscillatory system that has the effect of reducing or preventing its oscillation. In physical systems, damping is produced by processes that dissipate the energy stored in the oscillation. Dampening is getting something wet. 🤗✊🏾 The Rythmik has quite a few controls! I'm glad you got it properly dialed in.
I subscribed because of how you took the time to explain the WHY you set your settings the way you did So much great info for people that are just getting into HT Great video 👊🏽💪🏽
Great video. I don't have this woofer. I have a much older servo type from Velodyn. 18" however that will wake up a room or two. 😊 I'll definitely have to check my little selection of options. 🥋🤛🤛🤛
Lol - I just found an issue with my settings on my Rythmik E15s and I recommend you check yours again as well - check the switch normal and dual - I also had my set to normal but if you are using LFE you will get better higher frequency response in dual - normal is for stereo so unless you are using a splitter for RCA it will reduce signal power - Normal also invoked the crossover and was rolling off highs on my subs at 80-120hz but when set to dual it is flat to 250hz - I let Anthem and ARC handle EQ work - I also recommend using quick measure in ARC G to confirm and compare - may want to check out the new ARC beta if you haven’t already - it is a big upgrade - auto phase made a huge difference for me
@@Kpaceguy it worked better in dual for me - it will remove the peq but that’s why I have the Anthem and I am all about removing things in the signal path and it should increase higher freq response - I recommend doing test runs in ARC quick measure with ARC off - one with how you have it now and one with it set to dual and see which you prefer
@@Kpaceguy I am looking at a pair of F12s or G22s for my 2 channel system. Your guidance really helped (along with suggestions from Pure Audio Project and their fans).
most of those settings are Not available on many subs in the hands of most consumers..they tend to have volume , crossover and phase if ur lucky and thats it... that rythmik has some sweet customizations!!
@@Kpaceguy I’m using a AMBEO soundbar yes I know it’s a overkill! Lol But can I use the same sittings on my? The soundbar has a room calibration if that helps.
I wanna ask, is the G25 worth the extra grand over the G22? I've read that people have said the dual opposed config minimizes the tactile output and that the G22 provides almost no tactility. Does the G25 lose out on the room tactility as well?
I'd say yes. The 15in subs get you a lot more cone area equal to a 21in subwoofer. More power is always nice. A little bigger so you dig deeper and louder. I'll link you to a demo I did with it recently. You definitely get tactile bass with this in all but the biggest rooms. Sealed subs in general lose out on tactile bass but this one impressively fools you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6liB1u5b2rk.html
I ended up getting dual E15HP2s, which is essentially the same as oneG25HP, per Rythmik. I figure I’d get more tactile response, more even bass response, and they are easier for me to place over a single larger sub. At some point I would like to get a couple more for all 4 corners for more even bass.
Low dampening allows the driver more movement for louder volume. High dampening uses more force to bring the speaker into ideal placement for a tighter more controlled sound… it’s actually easier to damage the components with high dampening at high volume. To protect the speaker, use rumble filter and limiter. Dampening is the reason to get a rythmik, but it’s adjustable if you want to go loud vs accurate.
That thumbnail pick got me weak When i postion my subs i do the butt crawl meaning i put the sub at my listening spot play the sub while i crowl on my front floor back n forth and side to side until it sounds best i will have a video on this Paul as P.S. audio wants me to post the video also lol
GR Research sells Servo Plate Amps. If I’m not mistaken he sources them from Rhythmik. I think he sells them as part of kit but I’m sure if you reach out to him he would sell you just a plate amp.
I would have thought the servo controls would stop it getting damaged either way based on what I had read of Velodyne literature, but perhaps I was mistaken.
Brian the owner of Rythmik says limiter should always be on and rumble filter should always be on. Just saying 😭😅🤣. 12hz with AVR is good and low damping for HT.
I've got dual f18s. My god they are incredible. Was also surprised how small the footprint is of the sealed versions. I thought about the FV's but completely happy with mine
