there are two different pleading animations for grunts, but there is also a plethora of other animations that are hardly ever seen. I've seen a Specter choke a grunt from behind and all sorts of unique animations. Really shows how much care respawn put into Titanfall 2
I've seen one where a spectre jumps on a grunt and tears into them. And I mean literally tears into them as in ripping out his chest and throat with its bare hands, was kinda disturbing. Edit: Typo
@ozonedepleter1672 because back in TF1, there were far more situations you'd run into Ai. In TF2, ai always spawns from pods & ships, but in TF1, they could spawn anywhere a player wasn't. Mainly inside empty buildings. And it wouldn't just be a simple ally or enemy squad. Most of the time both AI teams would spawn in the same room and immediately do those rare animations on each other.
My favourite animations is one for the stalker. Shooting the legs make them lose their legs and there’s a rare animation where one hops on one leg and continues to do so until you kill it. Another is where you kill a squad of grunts and one of those grunts will start to walk back and forth after throwing his weapon, clearly angry and yelling at your Titan. It’s so fun
one time I saw a spectre and a grunt kill each other simultaneously. The spectre killed the grunt first, then, as the grunt collapsed, he fired his gun in an arc into the air, killing the spectre.
They have a few like this. Another where they get pissed off at how hopeless they know it is, basically a “just do it!” type thing, and another where they do a slowly surrender. Not to mention other animations like different AI forces killing each other in melee and shit
In the campaign they can properly surrender instead of just shooting you again a while later. BT's auto titan also has plenty of unique animations for killing smaller enemies.
Titanfall 2 has a bunch of this kind of hidden animation, yesterday I was playing the campaign on master just for fun, I hacked a specter and there was a enemy specter close by, suddenly my hacked specter JUMPED ON THE OTHER AND BEAT IT TO DEATH, I legit got scared because ive never seen a behavior like that, the only time ive seen something like that was a ENEMY specter killing one of my hacked specters just like Revenant on one of his finishers, the one were he stabs an enemy with his hands you know
My man finally played without the blindfold on. X) But in all seriousness, the cool animations like this one are a lot tougher to spot in 2 since the attrition AI tend to be much more sparce across the map. Apparently Bounty Hunt was meant to fully replace Attrition in 2, however it was 'un-cut' later in development. Which would explain why it's.. a little more bare bones when compared to the first game. Especially with the larger, but 3 laned, maps. It used to be you'd see grunts and specters going at it all the time, just beating the f••• out of one another. OH- and the wildlife, that would literally be picking up troops and carrying them away to be eaten. Those big•ss dinosaur things and birds that were in Apex for a bit? Used to stomp around the levels in the OG Titanfall. Thinking aloud... They really lost a lot of the world building/grounding immersion elements going into Titanfall 2. They favored more of an arcade-y/comic book play style/aesthetic which.. _isn't_ what got _me_ into the series personally, but I get it. I mean they _really_ embraced it with Apex Legends. And it's what sells, given the whole 'Fortnite' thing.. But, we'll see. With Titanfall 3 around the corner probably, I'm hoping they will have gotten their sillies out, to go harder on the CoD style Mil-Sim art direction.. but we'll see. It's not a big deal if they don't.
@@Elysium4 Well that's what Respawn is doing. Unless they're planning to blueball everyone, but I'd be surprised. You know how effing miffed we'd all be?
@@ThatTallBrendan Show me one reliable source that says Titanfall 3 is planned or in development. I'm being serious, I've been waiting for close to six years now and any kind of update is welcome.
There is also animations where grunts just give up after you kill a couple of them in a titan. It can happen in campaign too. They just get to their knees and look down, accepting their fate. They cant do anything against a titan, it is over.
There’s also an animation where a grunt pulls a knife and tries to stab you, although it isn’t implemented correctly. I’ve only ever seen it in the campaign once
