You’re the reason I pulled the trigger on the 2012 XF 5.0 S/C & I love it so far. Not too many of them in the city I live in. 47k miles with only 2 owners. So I’ll be looking forward to head turning once I get this thing right. Unfortunately it will be going in the shop .. Not sure if the timing chain is going bad or something. The engine sounds a bit too long than usual. Thankfully it has an warranty on it.
@@MarcoTopG According to the dealership I got the car from .. They said it was the transmission because the car did go into limp mode. I told them while they have the car .. Can they look into the timing chain & make sure it’s good. Completely ignored it. 4 month laters ..This past Tuesday 8/20. Got a check engine light .. Shop said it was the timing chain. So just waiting for the parts. Other than that .. The car has been great!
Hi bud.. Quick question.. Have you ever changed the boost sensors on the 5.0 engine? The front one looks easy to get to but there is one at the rear.. Was wondering if you have changed them and how was it finding and foing the rear sensors?
@@stewarthumphreys8960 there's only one boost sensor behind the superchager manifold driver side you will need to pull the supercharger to get to that sensor. The front is just a map sensor
Hi.. I've only just come accross your channel.. I will watch your posts over the next few days.. I have the xjl Supersport with top and bottom pulleys plus remap.. I have since blocked off the intercooler and radiator connection and have a seperate 3litre alloy water tank with a more powerful intercooler water pump.. Its going back for a new remap next month.. It was at 644bhp the first time.. Standard exhaust and intercooler.. Since i had my seperate intercooler work done i can tell there is a marked improvement with throttle responce and little heat soak.. Is this something you have done to your car.. ?
Yes I've done the same I separated the engine cooling system from the supercharger and run a 3gallon ice tank in the trunk. I've added about 70 pounds in my trunk works good for weight transfer
I’m thinking about getting an 2011 xf 5.0 and doing some work to it.. coming from the Honda family.. how many miles do you have today with upgrades.. and how long these things last 170,000 to 200,000
Stock heat exchanger haven't though about running water wetter reason is I have to drain my Ice tank every time I go racing which can be expensive and honestly my I'm not worried about intake Temps yet supercharger isn't being pushed to its limit at the moment
2011 jaguar xf is been reliable I'm the second owner bought it back in 2014 and only had to replace the alternator and water pump that's it. It had the timing chains done by the 1st owner
I like using 5 quarts of valvoline 20w-50 racing oil and 3 quarts of 0w-20 of any brand sometimes I get Mobil 1, Castrol, valvoline or penzoil depends on which is on sale.
