As far and performance and dance choreography goes, Troop is up there with the best music groups of all time (Jacksons, New Edition). There are a lot of Bobby Brown influences in the song (plus Teddy Riley) and swag here of all the guys, in particular the lead. These guys never disappoint! Plus, that was really cool to see New Edition congratulating the guys on their performance.
Watching stuff like this just makes me sad. There's absolutely no performer today that gives 100% on the stage like this. This was an incredible performance.
+5milamila I agree. Janelle Monae is the real thing. I saw her in concert. To be fair though, Bruno Mars is the real thing on stage too, and even though I don't like his music much, Chris Brown, as a performer, is terrific.
When you had to be talented. Troop is so underrated. They were a compete group, singer, songwriter, dancer and producer……great entertaining. They were a hard act to follow because of the energy they put into their performances!! Miss this era!!
Between the 70s and 90s, R&B was on point in both creative and stage quality. Talent like this is still out there, but it's not being celebrated or promoted in the way that it should be. The ones who do get shine are few and far between.
Love how these lead singers could bust their moves out front and then effortlessly flow right back into the group choreography. That lead singer on “I’m Not Souped” was incredible. Style was unique. Not Michael, not Ralph Tresvant. Just his own.
I love troop!! Mamacita, Spread my wings, Sweet November, the J5 cover for All do is think of you constant rotation on my ipod. Music was so good then.
🏆 🏆 🏆Man Troop had their sh*t together when they performed on stage and that's a fact!!!!! Their showmanship, style, and stage presence comes second to none, I Promise You That!!!!!💯 The proof is in the video!!!!!👍😎👌
Oh, man! I had Troop's performance recorded on a vhs 📼 tape where I collected performances that I liked (until I lent it out, and never got it back😭). Thanks for sharing!💖
Was that the OG New Edition line-up that came out at the end of "Soupped"? I spotted Bobby with his gumby lol as well Rizzo, Rick, Ronnie and Biv - but I don't see Johnny! I wish I wasn't just a baby when this was happening. It looks so hype! Troop is a beast!
@@DDot-im3jr I dunno fam, I see all of BBD and two other cats. That gumby dude definitely wasn't Reggie, although in all fairness the guy that I'm lookiung at has way LESS of a gumby than Reggie lol. Anyway I'm referring to the guy in the brown jacket that comes out with BBD. It's definitely not Arsenio and the side of the face looks like Bobby to me. Lastly the guy with the red and black "Heart Break NE" jacket dapping up Reggie at 3:55 certainly looks like it could be Ralph, but his back is turned so I can't tell for sure who it is. It's definitely not BBD because they're dressed differently than the person I'm looking at.
@@DDot-im3jr I guess one of the guys I'm seeing could be Brooke Payne too, but it's hard to see. There's definitely two other dudes with BBD who aren't Arsenio or any of the Troop members, though.
@justanjustan9624 Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike And Ralph Showed Up Bobby Was Already There First He Called The Rest Of The Guys And Told Them Troop Is At The Arsenio Hall Show Get Here Now. Johnny Was In DC At The Time...One Love Fam.
one of my favorite groups of all time. troop was so hard working and talented. probably the greatest dance group of all time even better than new edition. they got so ripped off by the record industry; their ego's also tore them apart especially Allen McNeil who seemed to be such a pain. sad; but for 6 years though, they were on top with 10 top hits including back to back #1's. In concert, none better. One of the great groups.
I HAVE TO SAY THAT TROOP WAS/IS MORE TALENTED THAN THE R&B GROUPS OF THE 90'S. THEIR VOCALS AND CHOREOGRAPHY WAS SECOND TO NONE. THAT'S SAYING A LOT BECAUSE THERE WAS ANOTHER GROUP THAT I CONSIDERED MY FAVORITE, BUT THEY COULDN'T TOP TROOPS TALENT LEVEL. THAT'S JUST THE TRUTH.
I love and miss this era. Where it wasn't enough to just sing with auto-tune. Entertainers sang live, danced, and dressed like superstars! And you could clearly hear and comprehend every word of the song.
