i would love to see a set of videos about what types of baits to throw for certain water conditions...I know there are quite alot of thoes videos but it is nice to hear the information from a trustworthy source. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!! KEEP SLAYING!!

It looks like a weapon that the predator would use. I love the new gun metal color too. Damn it's clean af. I've got a metanium and it still fishes like the day I got it 3 years ago. Im DEFINITELY getting the new one just because the new color is amazing.They're definitely worth the investment man. Congrats on the addition to the fam✊lol

That rod is so nice, I have a 6 gear Metanium on it for spinner and chatterbaits, I also throw heavier squarebills and crankbaits in the 3/4 to 7/8oz range on it.

The Bantam is an ounce and a half heavier, but the reel is so small that you just don’t notice the weight and I’m a guy that loves the super light weight of my Daiwa Steez reels.

Yes I’ll be buying one, the brass gear and the updated MGL spool should be amazing. Shimano had to update it cause the Bantam MGL was outperforming the 2016 Metanium lol....

I’m planning on getting the XG and HG in lefties when available. I was also planning on pairing them up with the Poison Adrena in 7’3” MH and 7’2”H but it looks like you beat me to that too. Can’t wait to hear your feedback after you spend some time with them on the water.

I have the same rod for spinner and Chatterbaits and I got a 6 speed 16 Metanium reel on it spooled with 15lb SunLine Fluoro. You will live the rod

$419!?!?!??? Wow! That’s high dollar living right there brother!! My wife would kill me!!! 😂😂. I just got the new Daiwa F/P w an 8’ Daiwa rod. It’s the most I’ve paid for a reel. I typically buy Bass Pro’s Baitcasters and Shimano Spinning reels. But I am upgrading a little at a time so maybe in the summer but I’m thinking of getting one w the micro chip in it next. Thanks for keeping us on the cutting edge Fishook!!! Love what u do jj

I saw them post those new metaniums up for sale on fb. I dunno how they got them before even the Japanese sites. I already have a new Antares but I’m a big fan of the high end Shimanos so I’ll probably end up getting one when they are available on a Japanese site.

What a combo man . Wow !!! Beautiful is a understatement . I am the guy who would rather have 2 reels for that price though . I sure wouldnt mind having that to sling around .I like to have have a set up for a spinnerbait a seperate one for a chatterbait on and on. I dont tournamentfish either so that might switch if money was on the line. Either way awesome awesome equipment man .

Very nice! Just upgraded to Curado DC’s last year. Have old one and weight doesn’t bother me. Use to mean durability. The poison rods are awesome looking and so light. Let us know! I fish left handed and for some reason in America, left hand reels always are behind on shipping.

Yeah, for some reason with the aluminum micro module gear they go geary pretty fast. I doubted tackle advisors with that, however, that was 100% true about the metanium DC going geary fast. The one weird thing is aluminum gears are technically more sensitive, but brass gears are smoother. The past metaniums do have a some slop in the retrieve, which has definitely changed with this model thankfully. Also I don’t know why Tactical bassin hasn’t said anything about that poison Adrena yet, and they had it in the Antares A video awhile ago before anyone had one...

Because the poison adrena isn't nothing special they want 350 for a rod with a new butt end on it I just looked at these rods yesterday cause I was looking for a spinning rod I ended up getting the expride way better feel

jack frost well, the poison Adrena doesn’t have the options like the expride, but it is a better rod in every aspect I find. Definitely worthy the upgrade over the expride. I think it’s because of the price being so odd plus the limited line up of rods. I wish they brought over the 7’6” medium posion Adrena spinning, although it is a 2 piece, it only weighs 107 grams. You have to understand fishing the rod is different then by looks and impressions in the store, as the nrx does not at all look like a 500+ dollar rod although it sure fishes like one. Shimano is probably saving the new zodias rod for ICast becuase of its carbon monocoque grip, so it has to something special about the carbon grip.

Good review. I have the Bantam and this is a step up. I was at the Fishing Pro Tech shop 15-20 years ago. They were one of the few shops that had Megabass baits.

Are you able to back the drag off completely so the spool doesn’t spin with the handle? Both of mine are unable to do this and even with the star drag backed all the way off (as far as possible anyways) there is still a lot of drag tension.

Hello fisherman, even though your articles are from Brazil too short, you are to be congratulated for the content posted, especially when it comes to SHIMANO. I don't know how to speak or read English, but on RU-vid there is a setting where we can put the subtitles in the language we want, but only you can make this content available in the videos. My question is: COULD YOU MAKE PORTUGUESE SUBTITLES AVAILABLE IN YOUR VIDEOS? Fisherman I have science that will satisfy many people in Brazil .... strong hug !!!!

I didn't hear about any specs and it ought to be casted beforehand. Sure color and size has changed, but that's not performance. Do another review after using the reel, please.

Thanks for watching and this was just the unboxing and discussing the 3 main features of this new reel. I’m in the process of taking it out to do some casting to see how it performs. @@FishhookTerry if you are into high-end Rod's I suggest trying a Kistler Zbone.. I have a 7 foot 3 latest version 4 power that is amazing.I am going to try to pick up one of the New metanium mgl at some point when they come on sale. I really like the MGl spool in the metaniums I have now.

Shimano should of done something with the color on that thing. What happened to the creative color schemes? The current metanium, chronarch and bantum are all 1 solid color. Spice it up shimano, at least get away from solid grey.

Its sad, it feels like they took the Bantham and slapped a metanium logo on it.. they could atleast have gone with the old color... I prefer the new daiwa morethan over the metanium though

kulsprutepappa I’ll try and show them side by side, it’s similar but not the same. A little smaller, lighter, and more high end features. However the bantam is a badass reel which I really love. Definitely hard to beat it
