Crazy. A 13-year-old car - wind up windows (!) and little squeaky stalks for the mirrors (squeak squeak). Save R100 000 (!!!!) and get a Baleno (electric windows all round, electric mirrors, cruise control ...).
And 6 airbags 😅 way better warranty and service plan included in the car price. Overall the Baleno is a better car. The advantages of this vivo is the powerful engine and superior ride quality to its competitors
Lol you guys haven't peeped game yet😭Vw will only change the vivo once they replace the normal Polo range and I'm not talking about facelifts🤧anything beyond that just forget about about getting a all new Vw Polo Vivo😂Hade SOSA and to all those who were expecting something different.
I’m so glad somebody else said it! Like it’s been scratching my nerves that people weren’t seeing this😭😭😭. Like they LITERALLY DID THE SAME with the previous gen Polo Vivo.
I’m saying this again. Those side shortcut icons (also for CarPlay) on the infotainment have not been calibrated for right hand drive 🤦🏾♂️they’re on the left hand side. VW does this most of the time.
VW tax in SA is real… I would get a second hand Audi A4 for the same price. Way more car for your money plus it wont be taken appart or stolen in the 1st month of ownership
I think you should have a talk with my brother for next year. He is driving the 2010 polo comfortline. Its a car running hand to hand through the family that was bought about a month after launch brand new. It is now sitting at 283 000 kms and still running strong. The interior is still in pristine condition. It would be nice to check the old and new side by side.
I don’t think the Vivo will ever get a sunroof. It will defeat the purpose of it being an “entry level” car into the VW range. This is the same with Apple for example. The iPhone SE will never get 3 cameras, probably not even 2 😂
@@ThatoTlhaku I get you, my issue is that something more is needed at that price, service plan, rearview camera, something nyana,...Street cred alone will not cut it anymore. I think they are shooting themselves in the foot with the lack of innovation on the vivo, the competition has so much to offer, but then again I suppose I am no longer the target market since I feel this way.
@@bongamav I totally agree. Rear parking sensors should be standard. Along with electric windows in the front and back. And arm rest too. Still can’t believe you have to pay extra for that.
But you always remember that there's a Polo TSI bigger sister sibling which still needs to sell. So I think the GT Vivo is meant to be a high on the Vivo range yet it still needs to be below the base Polo TSI. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to buy a base Polo TSI. It's just a matter of balance.
This car was launched when I was 26 years old, now I am just a few months from my early retirement age. Strange that it's still being launched for the 700 drillionth time.
Knowing VW's tendencies, I wasn't surprised when I saw the leaks and the official reveal😂VW is like Toyota they hardly change the look of their cars but they will increase the price because they know regardless of it South Africans will buy it🤞
Sm1 already bought 1 out there already, i nvr entertained polo vivo, it was expensive and yet has lot of optional extras than competitors, then renault clio expression won my heart
Problem with VW is that you might be hijacked after leaving the dealership but the engine and gearbox are super strong and the resale value is strong as well provided you can keep the car long enough problem with Renault is that when that engine gives problems you're screwed and when you try to resell the car you will lose a lot of money otherwise it's a great car it has all the bells and whistles but it has timing chain issues wiper motor issues and high oil consumption on the 4 cylinder versions so when you get your first job you don't want problems hence why you get the vivo
@SASA084 renault 3 cylinder turbo is the strong engine i ever had, i doesn't have high oil consumption, timing chain i changed once at 160000km, nvr had wiper motor issues, wt kind of engine problem will that be, i am on 260000km and only O ring needs attention and gasket needs replacement, other than that i don't see any need for vw to me honestly, that one you can't even drive in flooded roads it will just choke and die there, renault is reliable and durable boss
I don't blame the VW group, they have have more serious things to do (BUGATTI, LAMBORGHINI, AUDI, BENTLEY & PORSCHE)...VW, SEAT, SKODA & CUPRA are just volume based companies, they are more of a safety net especially VW because its very consistent and people will always buy their cars, and as for this polo vivo people will still buy it IF YOU DON'T GET IT, FORGET ABOUT IT
R356k? I added R20k to get a Demo T-Cross R-Line with 7K mileage, and almost all the options included. That Vivo is not worth the price. Miss me with that.
As promised u did deliver the car review even though u did mentioned you're not happy, just coming from Kumbi RU-vid channel, I'm glad they keep their price but also worried about their optional extras prices
Even a KIA Picanto X-line previous generation, give you reverse camera, park distance control, electric folding and adjusting side mirrors, full leatherette seats, 60/40 split for rear seats, full electric windows back and front and lastly you can get it with a sunroof aswell. And it's nowhere near 300k mark. This Polo beats the KIA Picanto on boot space
Finally someone said it, the infotainment screen is giving aftermarket , you'd find a similar one in a Toyota Quantum. As for the real view winding windows is just a disgrace. Basically every update in this vivo can be found aftermaket, the front bumper etc.
There's too many of us that like this '6' shape that's why VW will keep it in production and too many of us are happy with it. Though my personal favorite is "14 to "18 TSi Highline
You can't have same model Polo & Vivo. So unless there's a new model (not a mid-life/ facelift) this will remain. The only disappointing thing for me is the intentional use of "low end" features like the solid rear bench instead of a 60/40 split; window winders instead of electric. If there was just one version of the vivo in base trim, then it would make a lot more sense to me... maybe also extra savings in assembly line 🤷♂ I had a 2010 polo 6R, 1.4 CLine with PDC & Cruise control... I regret selling it, but I look at the vivo and feels like a meh in the drivers seat
Funny 😂😂😂today I saw this but I didn't know what it was😂😂😂I was like "look at these stance guys , he probably imported those lights. Good thing I saw them for the first time"😂😂😂😂not knowing is this Volo. It's not what I expected because I was waiting for it 😂😂😂😮but got surprised when it remained the same. These are the rare polos that will be a collector's item in 2076.
It just looks like a Vivo with the black style package, with some black fog lights inserts, and a new infotainment screen, all which can be added after market... Update, regarding the infotainment screen "Yes, it's sourced from a company in Argentina called Mirgor." -Ryan_Bubear
Aaaah ntwana mo ba dladile ka rena thwii 🤞😩... the only good thing about this facelift is the price that hasn't changed, albeit it being high already because of the options
I thought they will just re-brand the Brazilian VW Polo Track as the new Polo Vivo😅🤣brand loyalty is keeping VW SA afloat! that is the only thing that makes sense. 😂🤣
Making the current Polo a Vivo will take it out of the budget category especially size wise, price also, the base would cost around R310k and that’s way out of the under R300k budget cars category.
Polos are meant to be affordable,if they changed the design, the prices would've increased too. Imagine paying more than 300k for a 1.4 5speed manual polo vivo. Im sure the 1.6 auto life would range around 500k. Are you willing to pay that much for a polo vivo my friend?
You don't get the question. Im saying 2018&19 Trendlines do not give you the fuel range. Does this one gives you the average fuel consumption nd the range that is left on the tank?
It's not too bad it's comfy but I didn't expect it to cost R300K I thought maybe R250-80Kmaybe they will upgrade it and give it a facelift and change few features on the interior in the coming 7 years
Why I love it is not a problem because it still looks the same buying everything is cheaper🎉🎉🎉 than to other market Cars 2010 light for polo tsi wiil work why change it😊 but power and technology to a engine that what we enyoj if you own vw not a bank vw 😅😅😅
you could buy the current polo vivo and add of these “new extras” all yourself for less. the digital display looks like an aftermarket one and the fact that the windows at the back still aren’t electric is honestly very lazy from vwsa
What the vivo gt needed. Rear electric windows... electronic mirror adjusters And Optional sunroof. Its 2024 ! Quickly moving to 2025🙆🏾 What they gave us Larger infotainment system New tachometer style New badging style New front bumper design and color spoiler. They gave us what we did not need. Bored.
Yes n they will continue doing so. It is the cheapest car they can afford frm the vw offering. One thing I want to promise u, the driving experience is awesome. No starlet or i20 will match the vw vivo
The drive is ok, with terrible turbo lag. but it's not enough to offset the rest of package and validate that price tag. It sounds as if you signed some contract to ONLY buy VWs 😂.
They have completely lost the plot. I just bought the top of the range Toyot scarlet cross for this same price with 4 year service plan, Automatic, 360 cameras etc. i can’t even imagine how these two cars cost the same. 😮🤷♂️😂
That starlet cross looks crap under the bonnet, interior finishing is worse. Plz come back n tell us if u enjoying it after 3/4 yrs. Toyota had their own flaws on the starlet cross, 4 speed suv is not make sure. The tyre's also, are too thin for a car like that...
@@remandlo I love it. The gearbox and engine has been around for years so no issue there and the most power in its class. Extras is amazing, drives good and the only thing I don’t like is the purple interior. But I had a urban cruiser before this for 2 years also with zero issues. And compared to this vivo it’s on a different planet of value for money. But each to their own. There is a reason the Fronx and cross now has a waiting list if 4 to 6 months.
@@PeterCorigionale waiting 4-6 months, that is too long to wait. I wold have made up my mind. I actually like the normal startlet compared to the cross. I must say the cross looks great from a distance until u get inside and the Bordeaux colour is an eyesore enough for me to walk away..
356k for this kak. No panoramic roof even😂 . Even no reverse camera. No service plan. Roll up windows in the back 😂. 2012 I had the same shape polo 1.6 comfortline with panoramic roof and cruise control and full auto electric windows. Price was R192k brand new
