£73k base price. Audi taking the piss. Current RS4 is £80k in carbon spec with options, this will cost almost the same. There will reach a point where people will stop buying them and all that when quality is falling. Clear to see that from this cars interior.

If this came to the US I would be customer #1!! Sick of SUVs and miss a car and the wagon is the perfect blend that gives you some hauling space and height that a car trunk doesn't.

This is NOT a new A5. So many confused soles in the comments. This is the new A4, which Audi are now calling the A5. Odd numbers for ICE and even for EVs. Why they've done this, I have no clue, but suspect they'll use it as ploy to up prices. A lot of you have been fooled, asking why there's now an A5 Evant or where the frameless windows have gone. This is the new A4 folks, just it's now an A5 by name only. Get it...
A/S5 and 4 are same vehicles, just different design. This is a sportback so it would align closer with the 5s. I don’t think its a bad business move to just make sportback 4 doors since they are most popular, but everything about the looks, length, weight, and even lack of manual mode, means this isnt a true Audi and is just trying to appeal to a basic market
Outside - stunning, inside - ugly, scratchy, shiny plastic everywhere. Bazillion of screens that will always stay dirty, and no physical knobs or MMI wheel. Who needs a passenger screen, who will use it?! IMHO, the last gen A4 (before restyling) has the most beautiful and practical interior.
That shifter is gonna feel so cheap even a dial shifter is better then that. This car is chasing trends. Big screens and rear light bar with 3 lights like every kia. B9.5 rear end is million times better then this. Seats are an upgrade finally cooled and heated. Volvo sun roof is nice could have been more artistic then straight lines. Front is nice, screens do look clean, engine is still there lol. Not bad but ehh
Nice, understated design but unfortunately the frontal overhang is way too long ! 11:16 The car could have been more harmonic and better in proportions, if the nose could have been 5cm shorter.
Fire the new VW and Audi designers and whoever approved things. Their sales are going to plummet with these fugly models. The MK7 designer was great with classic style.
Current model RS4 Avant starts at £73k and the new S5 Avant is £71k starting price. So the new S version is more or less the same price as the outgoing RS. Audi lowers quality and ups the price... one way to increase profits I guess and then lose customers like me to Merc or BMW. I'm done with Audi, even their finance rates are double the competition.

Audi has been steadily increasing the cost of their cars and at the same time using cheaper materials and cost cutting on quality. It's a formula that doesn't escape customer like me. I think I've said this before, but a BMW M340i Touring is ten grand cheaper than this new S5 Avant, has a better interior, is faster, looks better (in my opinion) and comes with a lot of standard kit that's extra on the Audi. Even if you tick every option, bar the satin paint, it is still less than an S5 Avant with no options added, the finance is 5% APR with BMW, Audi is 10-12% APR. Audi have lost their way.
Can't figure out why they got rid of the subtle S badging on the front and sides. Meanwhile bmw puts M allover everything, even when it's not an M car.

Don't get me wrong, but why the hell is Audi now bringing out a Touring model of the S5?? The S5 was always the coupe of the A4 and I also didn't understand the Sportback, but an Avant now?? Seriously?
You don't understand. Audi have renamed their line up, so odd numbers are ICE and even are EV. Hence, the A4 becomes the A5. Get it? The new A5, if they choose to put ICE in them, will be the A7.
They would be missing, as the A4 range has never had them. They've amended the A4 range to be A5. The A5 will be the new A7 and that'll be coupe and sportback.
You don't need a shift stick, use the paddles on the wheel if you want to change gear yourself. One good thing car makers have finally got rid of silly stick shifters in automatic cars. The TTRS I had, a 2021 model, the stick shift in it looked so stupid and out of place.
@@luciussander8217 I just said it has no paddles. Yes the paddles are better than stick, but not having either is crazy, especially for passing, or fast driving with turns, or even to keep in low gear on hilly roads
86,500 euro for the new S5 base model. That's not far off what the current RS4 costs, taking the piss or what. Who's going spend that much on an S version, not me.

It’s nonsensical that they do crap like this. The C8 RS6 was nothing short of a success here. This Avant would be no different.
