I’m excited to try it out, but it’s not as “smooth” as I was hoping. Right before every jump, he seems to have a tiny burst of speed, like the animation is sped up. I’d rather it be smooth and slower, than fast and kinda choppy.
The speed and fluidity of Basim's moves plus the map design just makes it almost addicting to move around in. It's very similar to Unity in that aspect, just parkouring for hours on end and never getting bored
I personally think it is way better than the rpg trilogy but can u make a tutorial video briefly explaining how to the Parkour in this game, I'm facing a slight difficulty while executing it like I can't drop down properly instead basim crouches for me and how to perfectly execute the wall ejects
I can make a sort of in depth tutorial video in a day or 2 but for now I recommend this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AfHFKtD-q9I.htmlfeature=shared
@@acolytestealth Thanks for help man, I really appreciate it but video u just gave is more than enough for me to understand the mechanics. Once again I really appreciate ur help😄❤️
If previous AC games didn't exist, I'd say this game's parkour is awesome. Nowadays I do think it's style is great, its just the magnetism he has that really makes it all suck.
we have to remember guys the ac graphics is improving into the right direction even is not perfect but apploud to dev team for the hardwork that they made....if they keep improving visual like this for the upcoming year i think next ac games will be masterpiece in the future.
It's sad that before with every new game there was some progress in parkour animation, now with every new game they make them at least not as terrible as they were
i enjoyed ac valhalla and i autually found out theres alot of hidden mechanics like vaulting and parkour rolling, ac valhalla parkour is probably the most advanced parkour in the RPG trilogy so seeing it improved and faster in ac mirage really makes me happy
This game by far has probably the best Parkour map design out of the whole series. Edit: I don't think you guys are getting at what I'm trying to say. I don't think Mirage is the best map overall, I think it's the best map in terms of Parkour friendliness. What I mean by that is unlike the older games, Mirage doesn't just have Parkour elements on the side of buildings, but also Parkour elements in building, on roofs, and it's all nice and tightly spaced together but also spread throughout the map at the same time unlike the older games where Parkour elements would cut short or just stop for a while, you can literally continuously Parkour for a good amount of time because of how much different Parkour elements there is.
This clip gave me vibes of the animated Aladdin movie as a child, when I became fascinated by parkour without even knowing what it was lol. Having the option to immerse myself in a more adult variant of that is a win from me as a gamer. It's definitely on my list of games to try soon, since I've recently gone back to open world RPGing, including Valhalla and both Dying Lights.
I'm glad this is the first "review" of ACM I've had a chance to view so far. It seems a bit restricted from a viewer perspective than that of the Dying Light games, or any other games with a parkour-ish system. But, in my experience playing AC games, I think those open worlds are a bit larger and less repetitive (or so much less repetitive that it feels larger) than DL which could play a huge factor in that. I really love games that break away from traditional and monotonous walk, sprint, jump, holster/swap repeat. It's a lot more immersive, imo. And these devs have come a long way since the first AC released. This is how an assassin game is meant to be played.
Remember when people thought its gonna be similar to unity's parkour? I knew it was gonna be the same old snappy parkour animations from the moment I've heard this game was supposed to be a dlc for valhalla, instead they made it into a full game with the same engine, there's so many aspects missing from the parkour on this engine and just because they gave us a new map to make it look good doesn't mean it'll be good, map doesn't matter if the animations are so forced and snappy like it snaps from point A to B and you can't really control any other direction you want him to jump
essentially yeah, the only part is missing is run wall from the ezio trilogy if u know what I mean, the thing that you run up the wall and eject after that@@acolytestealth
@@LennySummers574 The animation is different but you can do it in mirage. The difference is you have to jump at the right timing or he basim just falls off/catch
I remember getting excited when they said “the parkour will be based of ac unity” but then they gave up and said “revelations” and they didn’t even make it like revelations all they did was change the jump animation to sort of look like ezios
The only time it was stated that it would be like Unity is a dev from a different team saying it would have "fluidity" like that of Unity which it does in the map design and in the speed, they never said the system itself would be like Unity.
This better from ALL of the Assassins Creed Games, Especially better then "Valhalla" and "Odyssey". I have played them, Thats how i can tell, Hope yall AGREE with me too. :)
Tbh I just wish it didn’t look like he was sticking onto the surfaces, I was kinda hoping it to be more fluid and natural, this parkour reminds me of sly cooper games😂. Not a bad game tho
The game itself is just fun. The finishers the way he stands after a finisher. It just looks and feels alot better than valhalla and oddyssey maybe even origins. It just has a smaller budget but idc it is less detailed like the older ac games
It's def Valhalla's parkour, 1:1. (which is better than Odyssey's ) There are actually some contextual side ejects in Valhalla, hanging rope to whip around building corners, some small obstacles you can vault over with circle/B and a few contextual back ejects. The problem was, Valhalla devs didn't design the levels/towns in a way that allowed you to use these mechanics. Buildings/walls were either too close, or just barely out of reach to do what you wanted. The ejects would work 25% of the time and you could vault over waist high objects 70% of the time. But if the perpendicular platform was an inch too far or close, you would just freeze instead of ejecting. Some waist high walls would be an inch too tall, and you would just get stuck crouching (because vault is the same button as crouch). Playing Mirage, it feels like they took time to make sure all obstacles were just right, and they tweaked how often you were allowed to do these things from Valhalla.
@@FordHoardI wouldnt call them eject's I'd say they're more so a side hop, a side eject is where you EJECT out of your wall run which I'm not canceling my wall run and ejecting out of it I'm still finishing the wall run getting in a hand hold then hoping or jumping to the side.
@@acolytestealth The npcs don't even react to a crazy man jumping around the roof tops. The parkour looks nice, just disappointed at how bad everything else in this franchise has become.
the only complaint i have is that i wish the game played like the old controls. where the trigger was used to sprint instead of pushing the stick. i feel like im always fighting the stick to keep sprinting
Parkour is good aside from the very rare bugs, pauses in between each jump, and using hands for the rope. I hate it when some youtubers cherry pick ultra rare bugs or do intentional bad inputs to make the parkour seem broken.
I don't understand why is it so hard to just improve upon already amazing parkour system from Unity, like why not take advantage of that, Unity has objectively best parkour system of all AC games, Ubisoft are just a bunch of dumbasses, keeping with a tradition to not improve or add anything new in their games, real shame, Mirage would be a great game 10 years ago, it's painfully mediocre now.
I agree and disagree. Unity is a good system animation wise but it's a downgrade mechanically from AC1-ACRev, for example in AC1-ACRev you can eject out of your wall climb at any point you want to and you can go backward's to the left or to the right and in Unity you have to finish your wall climb and get into a hand hold before you can do your "side eject". Another downgrade in Unity is that there isnt a catch ledge system, I'm aware that there's a breakfall system where you can grab a ledge mid air by spamming your parkour down button but this isnt a reliable system or one that you have much freedom in, like in AC2 a good way to get across a wall diagonally is by side ejecting then using catch ledge last second to grab the ledge, then repeat until you get to where you want to go but in Unity this was removed fully. Unity hold's your hand through parkour but it make's up for it with it's fancy animation's, on the other hand the new parkour system is just fully bland in general, we need the old parkour system back but Ubisoft isnt one for charity.
It is fun, only the Unity fanboys (who didn't even like it when it was originally released..) are hating on it.. just the usual ubisoft hate, nothing else.
Parkour is fine quit crying. The biggest issue is not feeling fast due to faster frame rates then the older games, that and being on Valhallas engine is why this game is mid 😂 I loved the ending, and taking the order out, but they just need to bring back unity combat or something like ac2 or 3
@@acolytestealth I mean you have no standards, you'll eat up anything these lazy developers serve you and you'll love it. This is why the state of gaming is in such a sad place, folks don't care about quality anymore, just a bunch of mindless consumer's.
@@Kane.JimLahey. I never said this parkour is amazing I'm just saying that it isnt as bad as I thought it would be, this game has flaws along with every ubisoft game nowaday's. Ubisoft has failed to nail down what it mean's to be an Assassin since AC3, they keep messing up the philosophy of the Assassin's and Templar's and they also fail to show how Assassin's arent really good people and they're killing people just like how Templar's do but also Templar's are people who abuse power and they have Facist goal's that are awful so in reality the Assassin's are doing a good thing. See Ubisoft fail's to really nail down what it mean's and feel's like to be an Assassin, and I understand that all the new game's are pretty poor quality wise but that wont stop me from still enjoying what's there. Also, Why do you worry about what game's other people enjoy?
Looks super janky actually, there is no flow in Basims movements. I wonder why there are so many Ubisoft shills all of a sudden? This refurbished AC Valhalla DLC isnt worth its money.
Its 100% worth the money, the stealth is 10/10 in this game and the story is also pretty good, even the parkour isnt bad and it really isnt that "janky" at all, look at AC1 doesnt that have a similar snapping to objects type of movement?
lol the stealth is horrible, you can climb into brushes right in front of your enemy and they wont do anything, you can kill guards right next to each other and they just stand there dumbfounded. Stop shilling for a bad game@@acolytestealth
as aggressively mid as this game is i still think its a big step in the right direction for AC in terms of focus and scope. now what they need to do is increase the production values within that smaller scope. make new parkour animation sets that dont give off that "magnet" effect and allow for more player agency. make character models that dont look over a decade old. fully mocap your cutscenes w facial mocap from talented and well compensated actors. stop compressing the dialogue audio to absolute shit. make a combat system that isnt trash even if you have to rip off popular action games. and for the love of god just find a way to fix that clusterfuck of a modern day timeline
@syko.stealth well tell me I'm wrong . This is orgins and oddessey parkour with a slide added not even a slide cancel. And that limp jump at the end wasn't even 20 feet. Look at parkour games then look at this it hasn't advanced
@@acolytestealth *keys jangle* it was sarcasm bro cod has a slide cancel this game doesn't go to roots or do anything new and that final jump was pitiful. its the same engine as orgin oddessey and valhalla and i actually like those games i just hate they are marketing this as something new and just added stam and changed ui.
Its a marketing *MIRAGE* get the blind fold of consumerism (or content churning) off your eyes. does parkour beat past games? no theres a delay on each hop no fluidity. does the combat? no. does black flag beat it? yes. does unity?yes. case closed games 10 years old does better at roots and it cant even try to match that. its RPG Ass in Middle east. the fact its dusty and in a city is the only roots this takes
