ACARS was used extensively on 09-11-2001 when the FAA ordered a ground stop of all civilian aircraft. All of the aircraft controllers on the ground despite the most trying circumstances, landed close to 5,000 aircraft in just under five hours.

Thanks indeed, I only cannot see how exact to install such a plug in.... further : since a short while there is SDRConnect, to work sdrplay with other-then-windows systems! Chapeau!

This is a really cool find, Matt. You can bet I'll try it out ASAP. Additional ACARS messages can be anything the pilots wish to share with their company, so almost like an airline's (very expensive) instant messaging app ;) Out of curiousity, what antenna did you use for receiving? I suspect any good, vertically polarized 2m antenna would be more than adequate. PS: I sent an email to your ds comms address regarding spectrum analysers. Consider this "Thanks" a contribution toward test kit :)

Working fine here on my Windows 10. Rsp1a is connected to a homemade flowerpot antenna. Do any companies have their own frequencies for ACARS?
