We are a family of 5 living life in North Pole, Alaska! Where Santa Claus House is right down the street! We love spending time together as a family, having fun, learning through homeschooling, growing in our faith, and building our forever home! Congrats on the new puppy! As someone from a family of vets and vet techs, i'd recommend getting him groomed REGULARLY. It will make sure that theres no allergy flare ups, or at least reduce them a lot! Also once he's of age, fully vaccinated, and if ever in fairbanks, come join us at the dog park on 2nd! Lots of good dogs and good people.

I was going to comment the same thing. My daughter does grooming and she recommends regular grooming for those exact reasons. It’s so important.

Totally agree. The groomers I am friends with all complain that the poodle mixes that come in are a mess. They require daily to several times a week combing down to the skin to make sure they aren't matted. They are being mixed with so many double coated breeds now (which totally defeats the attempt at a hypoallergenic coat) and they just mat so badly. It's sad more people just don't get a purebred poodle that has the coat type they are looking for.

Long time dog breeder here. Your puppy is going to be very mellow! You got a really good one. His whimpering is because he’s missing his pack and he’s a bit frightened. With lots of love and attention he will quickly settle in!

My granddaughter got a mini Bernie Doodle about 1 1/2 years ago. HER name is Charlie because when my granddaughter was younger, she loved to watch a cute show named “ What’s up Charlie?”. Charlie is so sweet and she has the whole family trained😂😂 Their hair is perfect for colder climates even though we live in Texas. They do not shed and that is most of the problem for people with allergies. I have had at least one dog since I was 4 years old. Currently have two. Enjoy your new cutie pie 🥰🥰🥰

Aww what a cutie, congrats! Just a little tip for naming him, dogs respond *much* better to two syllable names as opposed to one. Makes training a bit easier as they won't confuse one syllable commands like "sit", "stay", "heel", "come" and "down" with their own name. Anyways you're in for an exciting adventure with a dog in the family and will get unconditional love in return. ❤️

It wasn’t a surprise for the kids. More of a wifey and I always wanted one. But for doggo number two we wanted a Brittany. So after searching for a good reputable breeder. We found one and had to reserve a puppy 6 months in advance. The day finally came and we drove 5 hours each way to get him. He’s now truly the wifeys baby.

Congratulations! Doodles are the best! We have allergies in our home as well some pretty severe but last February my husband and I decided to get our puppy she's an f1b goldendoodle. We have an air purifier that we bought from Costco and they are awesome. But we have had absolutely zero allergy problems! Our doodle, Journey, turned one on 1/1/22 and she is the sweetest and the best addition to our family, after our kids, that we could have hoped for! Enjoy ❣️

Congratulations Sommers family! What a cutie! I hope he did well on the flight to his new home. I'm sure the kids went totally bonkers when they saw him! I would have to be around him to get a feel for his personality to suggest a name. All our animals have always been given a human first and middle name. And they all know when they've been bad because we use their middle name, such as in Madeline Mae. I personally don't like rover, spot etc. I must admit, I was waiting to see the kids reaction in this video. You guys are a big tease on this one and it's killing me!!!!! Lol

Aww doodles are so cute. I work for a pet grooming business. I will tell you the key thing to owning a doodle is brushing your dog daily. This will keep their fur from matting up. Then you will not have to always have a very short haircut. Find a groomer and get on their schedule for every 4 to 6 weeks.

This dog will need a lot of grooming. Every six weeks at the groomer and good brushing from you EVERY day. You should watch "Rover's dog grooming" here on RU-vid and learn what you need to groom him. But he is absulutely adorable. Congratulations to the family! Good luck! Hugs from Norway.

Oh my he is so adorable. This makes me want to get another dog. I have had 2 of them. First a Golden Retriever who lived to be 12. Then we rescued a mixed breed from the local shelter. She had marking like a rotweiller but was not muscular and much smaller (around 40 pounds). She lived to be 14. I still miss them both.

For some reason the name Buster Brown came to mind when I saw him! He is so cute! My little girl I have is Nakita Blue, she will be 11 years old this summer. She is the best the most gentle dog I ever had. My sisters dog was named Dakota. What ever you name him he seems very loving and gentle. The people who had him did a good job with him before you got him. Just use lots of praise with him.

I am so excited for y’all! I am allergic to dogs as well, don’t know about cats, haven’t been around them. I have a shihtzu, had him a year and a half and I’ve been fine!!! Never had any problems. My friends have a poodle and whenever I go around never had an issue. Even dog sat a few days and no reaction, you’ll be fine Bert! Congratulations

Ohhh what a beautiful boy!! The kids will be sooo happy!! I love the names "Piper" or "Riley". He is just such a calm puppy! I have so many puppy names going thru my head right now and he fits them all! Hector, Stormy, Skylar, Dominic, Reggie, Hershel, Briggs, Guss, Scruffy, Pokey, Jagger. I could go on and on! Lol! Wearing those boots, shorts, and his jacket, Bert is looking like Randy Quaid in Christmas Vacation. 🎄 I love it! Congratulations on the new puppy. Like kids, puppies are not disposable. There is no epic fail with puppies or kids. I sound serious here because I've taken in so many puppies who others disposed of. It wasn't always easy for us, but we worked hard to make it work. I know you can do this!

I knew it!! I knew it!!! Soooo cute! I cannot believe we have to wait till the next video for the kids to meet! We have a friend that has a Labradoodle. Kind of cream colored. Soooo sweet! Her name is Ruthie. When she was a few months old they got a "sister" that looked just like her. They named her Sallie. They love Paul ....the husband.....and want in his lap. They each look like a......... Was trying to think of what. Anyway they are huge. But the cutest!!!! Can't wait to see the kiddos reaction. His little whimpers are probably because he is being separated from all he knows. Bert, hope you continue to do well! Many happy times with your new baby! ❤️🐹❤️

the kids will love him to pieces. My wife and I just lost our cat of 13 years.. he was 14 years old. We had two both were brothers one passed away last May and his brother passed way this past Wednesday morning :-( They were Manx cats no tails. they were our kids. I can't wait to see the kids reaction to the adorable puppy

I remember that video during a Vlogmas where you visited the Fairbanks Animal Shelter and mentioned how Bert being allergic to pet hair somewhat prevented you from getting a dog or cat. The kids will love him and the puppy is so cute. This bring back a lot of memories for me when I brought my first puppy home back in 2002 I've had dogs my whole life but this was my own first puppy ever and boy just seeing this video all the memories of getting him and everything came flooding back. The puppy will whine for a few days or so I remember mine doing it when I got him. Sadly I had to put him down in 2014 due to old age and in november of 2021 I had to put down my mom's dog that inherited after she passed away in 2013
