Honestly the sooner Panik gets new cards the sooner they can fix the mistake they did with Castle of Dark Illusions by separating it from Bonz, Bonz cards would be pretty cool too now that I think about it
This is a really easy engine you can slot into any fiend or dragon deck going first. Run 3 of the ROTA, 3 of the boss of your choice, 1 of the trap. You can trade an extra level 5 fiend or dragon leftover on your board into an Omni-negate or a double pop that are semi-towers. You know people are gonna lose to this at locals.
Why only 1 trap but 3 of the boss monsters? Just want to see the other cards more? I didn’t any things that set enhanced from GY Also also, good idea though. Definitely could be used as just another engine to add
Honestly you I could see people using this in like Blue Eyes or something just to get Blue Eyes to the graveyard and help get their Jet Dragon moving or other stuff
@@kingofgrim4761 Probably for more chances to set the trap, though after using the trap they're dead draws unless you're also running the Archetype Reborn. It's something that needs experimentation which is always the most fun part
@@kingofgrim4761Approaching machine can add the trap from the Deck or GY. I would say 3 Approach, 1 Enhanced Metalmorph, and 2 Summon targets would be the best for a smaller engine.
That Copycat becomes either Dragon or Fiend monster, and it's level 5 on the opponent turn. So you just tributed it on the opponent turn, and summon either Dragon or Fiend monster.
Keith: “Alright Pegasus you’ve got took the count off three to hand over that prize money” Pegasus: 👀…*I am literally about to end this man’s whole career* “Fine. One. Two. Three.” *steps on tiny ass button and drops keiths ass into the abyss* And the butler conveniently being far enough away at the end 😂
The spell searches the Trap(s)-- you read it wrong. It's a monster that mentions Enhanced Metalmorph OR straight up one of the Metalmorph Traps. I personally can see a world where you can build this as a Maindeck-only deck to utilize some broken consistency boosters. Earthbound package gets you a level 5 Fiend and synergizes with Soul Resonator/Resonator Call. Tongue Twister maybe for draw 2 before becoming Zoa? There's definitely something here.
FINALLY more red-eyes support. Which BURNS AND SUPPORTS EQUIPS. Ultimately I feel like this card will replace savage dragon in the tcg for dlink. Now BMD has a ton more power as you get darkness metal, black meteor, and full metal off it. I mean it's basically an omni negate semi tower (that can come back later via revival cards be them red-eyes ones or generics) Anyway ultimately this support feels more joey theme'd since keith didnt really play many fiends besides zoa. Meanwhile joey side we got red-eyes(in 2 arts) we got axe raider(in art) and we got copycat
I really want a Red-Eyes and Flame Swordsman fusion now, it be so sick to properly bridge those two archetypes together especially cause that new Swordsman archetype is so good.
@@Grimsly3736 actually fun thing the fullmetal works in flame swordsman as the fusion dragon is level 5+ and it doesnt even mind being in GY. But yeah I agree I would like a REBD flame swordsman fusion that's fire so both decks can use it
@@Grimsly3736 might just have to settle for gearfried for now until eventually we get naked gearfried in red-eyes too (or red-eyes flame swordsman in a later wave when ocg gets it)
Don't forget that there is the field spell Heavy Metal Raiders, I know it's not amazing, but it's there. I'll definitely be making this deck, this looks fun. I couldn't care less if they're "bad", because for all we know, the format will be entirely different come early November. I also have no doubt the support these card will get next year will be good.
@@Grimsly3736Copycat can change types, so you declare Dragon. Otherwise, you can splash this in any deck with high level dragons. Like Red-Eyes, which CAN search Full Metal to start the process.
I just teched 1 copy of red-eyes and metalmorph into my tachyon deck as an additional option. Deck is full of lv 8 dragons that spam themselves so there's no shortage of targets. Also red-eyes being lv 8 helps me unbrick with trade in.
Pretty cool that we finally get a Zoa and MetalZoa retrain, I had a feeling that Konami would get to them eventually. The effects of the bigger monsters aren't too bad if you can get both on the field at the same time. Definitely not a meta archetype but its not a bad one either. At least its better than the latest Rex Raptor support.
Its cute, not gonna move the needle on the meta, but its a nice addition to this series of anime decks we've been getting recently. This is a great intro deck, a shit simple strategy that doesn't have too many moving parts, cares about the main deck, and references the show. Youre gonna be seeing this at your locals for the next 5 years
I mean maybe I'm bias as a red-eyes player but I absolutely believe fullmetal will be in dlink as a replacement for savages omni negate. 1 BMD can basically lead to borrelend, fullmetal, level 8 synchro
I can at least see running the 2nd boss monster and enhanced metamorphosis as a 2 card pickup for labrynth. It gives them more offensive field control which is the main struggle they can have once they get going. They can tribute off butler or either lady for it and then just revive with a welcome card, and they suddenly have offensive board pressure.
Keep in mind that bandit Keith had a lot of cards so there's a lot of potential and potential for a lot of support. Barrel dragon, machine king, slot machine, launcher spider (would be really cool to see), Zera the Mant, mechanical chaser, and much more.
Time Engine is meant to work in conjunction with Enhanced Metalmorph limiting what effects the opponent can use, combined with the once per turn negate from the Red-Eyes, Time Engine is nasty
Unfortunately though we have to worry about how to protect Enhanced Metalmorph from Spell/Trap removal which can be a bait from our opponent if we choose to negate it with Red-Eyes Fullmetal.
@@sentasuS049 Well, as the the support currently isn't done yet, I'm not gonna give my final judgement, but for this first set of cards in this wave to stick, Enhanced Metalmorph does need protection through a consistent setup board. Otherwise, the monster it'll bring out will become vulnerable to all sorts of removal. Spell/Trap removal. mostly in the form of Spells/Traps will hurt this strategy bad. Of course, negation of the Trap would be even worse but that goes for most Traps decks in YuGiOh. What Konami doesn't ever give much to Spell and/or Trap reliant archetypes is in-archetype Spell/Trap protection to things like non-targeting banish or bounce effects, again, mostly in the form of Spells/Traps, or some way they punish players for using Spell/Trap removal like how the recent Sinful Spoils card did. This game is still going after 25 years, and through all of the power-creep in new sets and readjustments to card and game design Konami still don't provide top-notch Spell/Trap protection to Spell and/or Trap reliant decks that need it in order to keep up with the power of the game? This is why I think the Advanced Format became nothing more than a joke.
Zoa holds abit of a special spot in my memory, I had my chaos deck stolen as a kid, walked into locals with my remaining deck made from bulk didnt, I didnt even have spare sleeves, tribute summoned a Zoa my opp looked very confused to see a 2 tribute and for a card he never seen before, I set some traps and won game 1 and won game 2 with prime material dragon.
This sort of goes crazy with Chimera. But mainly the Metazoa, Enhanced and maybe copy. You can tribute Berfomet summon the Metazoa, get up to 2 pop, then use it for a fusion meterial for Guardian Chimera or something.
Regular metalmorph isn't bad if you can get/draw it for free which unfortunately isn't the case here. One thing to remember is this can be played as a beatstick engine or burn support rather than as a complete archetype. You can easily just have something like 1 of every card minus the last one.
The Devilzoa X card.... that's also not a hard twice per turn, which means having two gets you 4 interrupts.:3 It's fun, not that strong. Low-key, wished they did it like assault mode.
Unexpectedly this could be interesting on White Woods. They can search Metal Copycat which gets you a boss monster by itself (and those monsters are not bricks thanks to their hand effects) and also has the utility of giving you access to different levels for Synchro plays, something like a Black Rose Dragon on the opponent's turn by using Formula Synchro is the first thing that comes to my mind. Idk if is actually worth the effort, but the Red-Eyes does give you an omni, and making Baronne on the opponent's turn was an integral part of their strategy for what I've seen. They would need to do this without using their Normal Summon tho, since from what I remember they can only search non-Tuner LIGHT Spellcaster, not Special Summon them
There's definitely potential. Just something quick I thought of. Normal summon black metal dragon. Link into striker dragon. Eff of black metal search darkness metal. Banish striker summon darkness metal. Special black metal back. Link black metal into pisty. Black metal search red eyes full metal. Reveal it to set enhanced metal morph. Now you have your omni set up. There's potential to splash the red eyes into a dragon link based deck with bystials and other dragons.
It’s not nothing for sure I’m just not sure that’s better than the other things that d-link can do already and also this package pretty weak going second
Well, they did not straight up replace Metalmorph, but the OG Metal counterparts were. Also, hope we could somehow get more Metal counterparts, besides Heavy Metal King..
I like Idea of using this in lair of darkness because if you can get the it up. You also can tribute your opponents dragon and fiends. With these cards also a bystial package works well in this. This can also play the yubel and fiendsmith or even some of the lab cards.
This could dodge certain negates or other destruction on the monster you tribute to activate it, then you get another disruption AND protection. That seems like good value.
well, these cards are betterer than I would've expected. It has quite a nice engine without any garnets but a good amount of searchers, it's made to be splashed in other decks or archetypes, but I don't know if this would push any new theme in the meta. For example I could see this engine being decent in a Bystial deck, turning Magnamhut or Druidswurm into an omni with 3800 atk and hard to remove with an upside but I don't know if it pushes it into meta relevancy (I can't think of other pure dragon or fiend deck that could play this cards and benefit from them). What I like here, is that if Konami wants, they can just improve the deck whenever they want, they didn't make the cards revolve around ONE specific card, just "Metalmorph" cards, so they can just print more cards with this name to give more toolbox for the engine.
@@JustNutzProdWell, it itself is, yes, there isn’t really much of a plan. However, in existing strategies, the boss monsters and one copy of the trap could see play. For instance, you could play the new Metalzoa in Yubel, as you already summon plenty of Level 5+ fiends. As well, in Tachyon or other high level dragon decks, the new Red Eyes can act as yet another omni negate. Though as an individual deck, it is quite ass.
@@JustNutzProd I don't think it's great but it's a decent engine for any dragon/fiend strategy. You can put 3 copies of the dragon and 1 metalmorph if you play bystial to create an omni-negate without a normal summon. I don't know, there's tons of ideas behind this deck that you could've put 2 seconds of thought into and all you got was "this is poo" come on now.
For the record, regular MetalMorph gave you +300 stats, and then if you specifically were initiating the battle, you’d take half of that monsters ATK and add it to the equipped monster. Basically guaranteeing if your monster has at least half the opponents ATK it can beat over it. cool cards! interestiny
I haven't really played a "pure" Red-eyes deck, just variants of Dragonlink and Red-eyes Fusion. From what I know they don't tend to normal summon a lot so would it be worth running the new Metalmorph set in a Red-eyes deck?
They also need to make a better clear world field spell like one that can’t be removed from the board when the card is activated it can’t be negated for an updated clear world field spell would make way more sense in the modern era of yugioh
Any idea if this is being treated as a new archetype for this set or legacy support, just curious to see what additional support we may get if the former. Also is it just me or does this kinda have assault mode vibes just with the monsters able to search the trap plus put themselves back into the deck
I scooped sets of the super rare red eyes metal dragon, zoa and mz secret and og metalmorphs the week before this his cuz I've been building modern boosted DK/Battle City alt timeline character decks. Man i can't wait to build MZ and FMRE!!!! Legacy fans are eating great.
Love that between MZ, Zera the Mant, Red Eyes Metal and both new Metal monsters we have 15 trade discards XD. Splash a light (thunder dragons?) Windmill BLS/CED. Go lol.
Those cards are great support for Lair of Darkness! You can Tribute an opponents Monster to activate Enhanced Metalmorph. Also since it's a normal Trap it's easily searchable in the current Lair of Darkness Deck. And funnily, you also play Fiends and Dragons in that Deck :p I'm gonna try this!
Great seems like a stretch to me, cause if your opponent doesn’t have a level 5 or higher dragon or fiend this card is pretty useless. Certain matchups can go crazy, but not consistently in an open format🤔
@@JustNutzProd You do play Bystials in Lair of Darkness, so those can be used aswell if the opponent plays no dragons, or a Blue-Eyes with Successor Soul also works in Lair of Darkness. So you would have Methods do tribute your own dragon, but it needs some testing. Otherwise this could be played in a Side Deck against certain matchups
I mean DLink can very easily run 3 of the rota 2-3 of the boss monster and 1 trap, they just tribute a body on the opponent's turn and summon the omni negate guy with decent protection and for bystials, it also sets up their gy to get their engine started. Seems good on paper but definitely not it's own deck yet, seems more like an engine.
Yeah my dude that red eyes card is from when he went against joey, but to me of all people bandit Keith should've been had a legendary deck especially since he was a rival of pegasus but yeah it definitely needs barrel dragon in it or they're coming out with cards for it in that set,and not only I been wanted Keith's deck but I'm definitely buying them when it drops in stores and ps the way you do your vid about the new cards dropping is the best I seem yet
Free Omni negate that can’t be target or destroy (by mo/spell) even better if you play lv 5 or higher dragons of fiends non of these cards are bricks while you only need 8 main deck doesn’t seem bad
Well its not supposed to be a full in archetype. Its clearly designed to be an engine. I think itll do better in a Trap Deck or some kind of set up Strategy that needs an omni-negate
Copycat leads into an untargetable, indestructable omni negate with a 3800 body, it has its own searcher and can also be special summoned with one for one. Pretty decent
I do like that it's generic for fiends or a dragon deck. The only real gripe is that it's a bit slow, with the Enhanced Metal Morph being a trap so you have to set it up and if you are going second, it's not going to help you win the game that turn. It would have been nice to have like a continuous spell card that would have let you play metal morph the turn you set it on field along with some other effect that if metal morph is face-up on the field, you get a once per turn, targeted destroy effect. That would help the deck going second with all these cards.
A new archetype that bans special summoning and only allows tributing will be a big meta shifter, esp if the archetype allows multiple tributes per turn to summon big monsters as if it were special summons
Oh my god they really did it. I was just doing some custom csrds about them and they created real supports. Edit after watchign the video: i hate so much that they have nothing of the og cards. Konamy WHYYY
Kinda wish we had a Red Eyes retrain for the new Metalmorph support. Maybe we’ll get one later? Also I like how the support is pretty open ended so they could potentially add more Metalmorph monsters in the future.
Yeah maybe we’ll see other iconic cards get mechanized, summoned skull be a cool one imo, we could also get a Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Retrain that’s more of a true boss monster like how it was in the anime.
Seems like this isn’t good based on the fact Enhanced has no protection for itself. Protect the monster sure, but it’s like why do I care if I can remove it
What ypu are missing is these work in any Fiend or Dragon deck and thanks to the Spell are a self contained destruction or negate engine. Stealth Yubel support
I’m not missing it, it’s just not that good to me. It’s real slow, all the cards are redundant and do the same thing and you if you don’t have the spellcaster you need to get the right kind of body from another engine or the engine does nothing
