New Brighton had the new promenade built in the 1930s. One reason for building it was to create work in the depression. It altered the tidal flow and caused the sand from the beach to be stripped. Liverpool University took part in a two year study in the 1970s. The result was to design those groynes and other sea defences which brought the sand back That is why they are there.
YEAHHH a wire fan, me to, lived in Warrington for 10 years, love the Wire but thank god we've got a new manager now. I started following Wire when Alfie Langer played for us.
