My 98 hatch basically did that. You would still have to push down the gas and touch the steering wheel a tad to the left every once in a while but it basically drove itself!
Honda's newer lane sensing technology is ahead of most other manufacturers. I've not had any issues with it on busy streets. It helps me stay in line with everyone else.
Only time it’ll cause a crash is if it detects older painted lines than the new ones. Other than that depending on lane assist 24/7 with no caution isn’t the best move
I have a ‘24 si and I can attest to the fact that it operates by making micro corrections to keep you centred in the lane, but sometimes it’ll make a correction than randomly turn off for no apparent reason which will steer you into oncoming or put you off the road, thankfully I was paying attention or I would’ve ended up in a ditch because of it. I only use it in highways now
Does it have to be spring water or can you use purified water? Also, will it affect the handling if I use flavored water? What happens if I use Gatorade or powerade? And what about an energy drink mix like mio.... Will that add horsepower?
On my 2024 Civic EX-L I have this future but with the newer civics, you can only do this feature for about 8-10 seconds otherwise the car starts beeping at you to make sure your hands are still on the wheel. But make sure you aren’t using this in the city or at sharp turns because it will NOT work
Yea, it's why he has a water bottle on the steering wheel, so it thinks you have your hands on the wheel. I would not recommend it, though, you should always have your hands on the wheel
it'll slow down for cars in front of it and it'll also do slight turns, but it's not made to be fully autonomous so i wouldn't try it like the guy in the video in those situations

It does take curves but it is a Driving Assist not an autonomous robot. If you read the manual it states clearly they will not be responsible in case of accident. Also, the system doesn't allow you to rest your hands on yourself, in a time interval the system alerts you to put the hands on the wheel or it will disengage.
@@goxyeagle8446it makes it an easier drive, especially for long trips. Yes, you have to hold the steering wheel and help it with sharp turns but it's great on slight turns and when going straight.
I have a 2022 sport touring please when using this pay attention and dont think you're driving a Tesla. It'll do slight curves on the freeway but going higher speeds it will not hold in the lane and will start going into the lane over unless you control it.
I got the 2020 fit and tried a lot of brands but bmw and tesla are the clear winners. Tesla is the best at lane keeping (steering wheel torque is the best) but it's not as user firendly as blw or volkswagen
Bro that water bottle hack is genius. Only problem is that most roads have faded lines and are all jacked up because of current or previous construction. Or the road is just rough and it sucks 😂
There's a few highways in Texas where the speed limit is 80. Not to mention most Texas go 8 over the speed limits since a lot of tx dps troopers won't pull you over for that.
Mine wont do this, it makes me physically move the wheel every once in a while to register that im doing anything. Why does this waterbottle trick work ?
I think its tricking the computer that there is steering wheel input by the driver but it's the water bottle causing the input I believe not 100% just guessing for why the waterbottle is there
Im going to the dealership to see if my buddy that works there can get a good deal together to trade in My '23 VW Taos for '24 Civic Hatchback! Im excited! Ive never had a Honda before and the one I want is in Smokey Mauve Pearl! Such an amazing color and its purple! Who doesn't want a purple car??
As a Honda employee please don’t do this. This is a really good way to get pulled over for veering in your lane and crashing because the car is not fully autonomous.
My girlfriends corolla does this too but you have to hold the steering wheel, ill try the bottle trick but it only seems to work if you actually move the wheel
I have a 2024 civic sport I just bought. I was driving on the interstate where they were doing construction and had a lane shift and the lines were just all over the place because you could still see the old lines and the car was trying to drive me the wrong direction I thought I was gonna crash.
Works better if you put the water bottle in the lower right hole. It does not fall out as easily. I use it on the highway on straight aways and it keeps in between the painted lines. I love it!
Yes, it does the work perfectly at the max limit specified by the highway, but it is not for autonomous driving but to keep you on lane, obviously people will use it as a robot.
