I totally agree with you: I hate the transparent plastic packaging, I have already broken one travelling, it is not difficult. And as a blue lover, I can say the comparison with blue moon is enough for us, the tones are quite similar and we can perfectly see the difference quality. Thank you so much!
And this is why I wait for what you have to say about ColourPop releases before I buy anything. Thank you for talking me down from buying Deja Brew and Fresh Greens! It's too bad that the neutral and green palettes are some of the weakest performers.
I´m from Mexico and I was not throwing my popcorn at the screen but IT IS very dissapointing that we don't have Target here ): Thank you so much Amanda for all the effort and these comparisons and swatches!
They are selling their products through a retailer called Bellisima here in Mexico but honestly it's not worth it. They only have their Bambi, Barbie and Animal Crossing collections availalble and they are woth twice the original price from their website. It's better to save up for free shipping and you get to buy more stuff for the same money
@@AnnMay927 I'm from Peru and it's the same here. There are a couple websites that sell CP but it's double the price and they don't even have a good variety of products. I'd much rather save up for free shipping
Thanks for the swatches. I had my eye on the Gone Metal palette, but thanks to you I realized that the Of Quartz one is so similar, that I can skip getting it. I appreciate all the comparisons, helps see what I have in my collection that has these colors already.
Thank you for all the comparisons. My heart broke a little when I saw the swatches for Plum Szn. That was the only one I was really interested in. However I appreciate that I didn’t have to buy it to find out the quality just isn’t there. Perhaps instead of an all purple palette I might have to buy a half purple palette from Oden’s Eye tomorrow.
I was really curious about the Target palettes and was glad to see this video. I appreciate the way you do swatches and comparisons, thank you. This was super helpful.
Thank you for your honest opinion about these palettes at target. Also, thank you so much for taking the time to do so many swatch comparisons! They really help!
You, dear are worth every dime (and inch of space) you've saved me! I love and will always shop Colourpop, but the info you provide helps me prevent waste. Thank you much!
Even though it would 100℅ be nothing but a huge dupe, I kinda wish ColourpPop would put out a mega pastel palette. I just like the simplicity of having all the shades in one place, you know.
I just checked and believe all of these palettes are available on the target app, I haven’t seen them in my store yet. Love the deja brew and feelin’ toasty palettes
YES! As an Australian viewer it's hard to know your correct shade especially in the colourpop complexion products. Your comparisons and swatch videos are so helpful for a consumer who can not go into a store to test products. Let's hope colourpop makes it way to overseas retailers
I bought two of these palettes at Target...Plum Szn & Fresh Greens. I think Colourpop chose a thinner formula for both mattes & shimmers, though the Fresh Greens performed better for me (I'll probably return the purples). I have a large collection of Colourpop eyeshadow palettes (Good Sport is still going strong!) & I've definitely noticed that the shimmers are less emollient & less shiny than in older palettes for the last few years. Such a bummer that this review didn't come out a week or two ago. Now I know why...Oden's Eye...so happy for you!
Amanda! Your swatch arm is a total hero! 😁Thank you for all the comparisons. Its sad that these don't seem to be colourpop's best quality since it will be many people's introduction into the brand 😥. They should have released the already available similar palettes with good formula at Target in the clear plastic packaging for visibility sake. Like just send Going Coconuts with a clear lid, Blue Moon etc.
THANK YOU for all the work you put into these review and comparison videos!!! I live in a county with no access to Colourpop but can get them posted to a friend and will collect them next year when I go on holidays. I have no opportunity to see the products before ordering and it will be a one and done order to avoid the hefty postage rates. I know some of your videos are older now, but are still great to watch (I may have binged watched 'quite a few')!! Both the reviews and the comparisons are sooooo helpful and its brilliant to get a feel for the products and decide what items are best for me. ❤❤😊😊
Your videos help me save money, because it shows me that I don't need these new pallets. I have stone cold fox, bare necessitys, thata Taupe, going coconuts, Nude mood. This helps me EXPONENTIALLY with my goal of spending less money on repeated makeup I don't need! Thank you thank you thank you for your hard work.
Colourpop's inconsistent quality is so frustrating. They have some excellent formulas that perform really well. But they keep releasing palettes that have either a few, or a lot of patchy, dry, poor performers. I ordered the Gone Metal palette because I LOVE my Trouble Maker palette. The quality and color story are fantastic. I wanted a small cool-toned palette I could travel with. Thanks for the heads up that it's a little lack luster in performance. I'm glad it's not as bad as the purple.
Thank you so much for this! I hate their plastic packaging and even moreso the packaging of these target ones so that was already a deterrent enough. But the quality of these means that they’re no longer on my wishlist. Thank you for saving me money, as always!
I’ve been trying to get my hands on a super shock shadow called rooftop cocktails, but it’s always sold out online. To my delight, I found it at target! When I finally got it on my lids the color was everything I hoped for for about 10 minutes. Then it started fading and glitter fell out all over my cheeks and into my eyes. My eyes were so irritated from the glitter fallout that I had to go home in the middle of the day to wash everything off and remove my contacts. I couldn’t wear contacts for a few days after and I haven’t touched that super shock shadow since. 😢
Came here for the comparison between Deja Brew and Cold Stone Fox, and my suspicions were confirmed. I can pretty much (85%) dupe if I get Stone Cold Fox. Thanks Amanda!! 😁 And I didn’t realize the pans were magnetic! Or maybe I did, and just forgot. Wouldn’t surprise me. haha
i think the green is the only with a new and fresh proposal cuz in colourpop dont really exist too much options to greens ( all are more like mints and chalky green apple colors only )
I prefer mega palettes over the smaller ones. With them I feel like an artist. And I feel less restricted in what I can create, often using combinations I wouldn’t have tried had I not had so many options available.
I actually like both I like big palettes to feel like an artist to have multiple options and get inspired again to create unique and creative color stories put together that necessary don’t go together but make them look wearable and that they do go together & I like small palettes to create simple eye looks and that are one and done looks so I don’t have to think a lot when I’m uninspired to create beautiful and unique eye looks but yes having both type of palettes is amazing regardless 🥰
Don’t worry Amanda, I’m not throwing my popcorn at my phone 😂 But I would LOVE to see Colourpop at Shopper’s Drug Mart (I think they’re like the equivalent of CVS but carry some higher end stuff in their beauty section), they’re everywhere in Canada ☺️ Especially since buying stuff from Colourpop rn isn’t the best option for me bc shipping is like $14 now 😬 (inflation is such a pain in the butt)
Great video and the swatches were awesome! Your poor arm..... 😪 I got the Making Mauves pallet a while back and was not impressed at all! Shadow was chalky on the mattes with no color payoff. The foiled colors weren't bad. I recently purchased the Mauvin Up at Target and it is a MUCH better formula! I will be using this a lot, it's so beautiful! And that lightest matte color is a weird shade, as it lays down way different than how it looks in the pallet. Love it!
I know I won't be buying any of these when I have so many of the comparison palettes anyway. Between those and some monochromatic palettes from other brands as well, I can pull two of pretty much anything and get a matching eye look with better formulas. Although I was a little bummed about the green palette anyway as it does have that more grungy look that takes a little bit more hunting through my collection. For looks I like to do more often, I'll get a separate palette if it would take more than two others to make it.
Ah dang haha. I’m not a makeup person and just bought Deja Brew as my first palette in like. Ten years. I went with it because it was a good palette size and had enough cool tone mattes too. That and being in Canada I only had so many choices as per the colourpop website! Thanks for sharing though- this was very thorough and insightful for future potential purchases.
The Clarksville, Indiana Target has all of them in store. It also has the Spring line. I can’t remember what they’re called, but the green, the purple and the peachy/pinky nine pans, along with the other things in the line.
I'm sure that the clear packaging is only for target. In ulta they do have the cardboard, because it can be displayed open there. But that's not possible at target. Also, thank you so much for this in depth video!! You rock!!
I got Deja Brew at Target and I really enjoy it. It's basic of course but has become my everyday go to for a quick eye look. However, I also picked up the purple spring palette and I was very disappointed. Little pigment and lackluster shimmers
You said the palettes are magnetic. I wanna get the gone metal palette and replace two shadows with two others from the cloud spun palette to travel. would that work? can i pop them out and pop them back in as i please?
I bought the green one and the blue palette one and teal green one from the collection that was on Ulta and I loved those the first ones were ok and I noticed I really had to work to get them to shine I got the green one cause it looked similar to the one that was Ulta my colourpop section in my target stores hardly have anything I think I love the eyeshadow sticks more than the palettes to be quite honest I just hate that you have to work hard to create a look with these 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢I love your honest reviews cause nobody said that about them I think cause they didn’t wanna hurt Colourpop’s feelings the flora palettes are really pigmented I got the mint one and I’m glad I finally picked it up
The only question I had answered: Is the formulation same? Cool beans. I will stick to the website. I don't like the plastic at all and the only ones I will buy is because I want a mirror sometimes.
Amanda, you are my go to for ColourPop and I just noticed something about the brand today and was confused. I thought you might be able to clear it up for me. I live in the U.K. and we can’t get ColourPop here. I happened to be on AmazonUK and stumbled across ColourPop palettes. I immediately thought these must be knockoffs. Why? The spelling of the brand. It was my understanding ColourPop is an American brand, yeah? Well I’m originally from Iowa and there is no ‘u’ when spelling colour in the US, while there is here (probably Canada & Australia, too, among others). So now I’m wondering if these are genuine (I know your can’t verify that). Until now, and I have looked longingly at a lot of ColourPop and never noticed the spelling. No doubt because I am so familiar with the ‘u’ So my interest is piqued on these palettes I’ve seen and the spelling. I know it probably sounds silly, but I thought you might know why, or could find out. Maybe one of the ‘owners’ is British (or etc.). If you’ve read until here 🍭thanks for your time. Now I’m going to watch this video.
Are these the smaller pans? I’m looking to replace some of the pressed glitters in some of my other colourpop palettes Like the ones in the mega palettes
I would be gutted if these were cardboard and exclusive to Target, as an overseas customer. I fall pretty easily for their 9-pans in cardboard cases. As it is, I'm relieved 😂
I genuinely feel CP released these to make nine-pan, monochromatic palettes for the Target customer. These are not for us. Thank you for all the comparisons!!
I will not be buying any of these. If CP made a statement of some kind regarding why their quality has declined so much, I would be more forgiving and loyal. But this is not acceptable. I’m not going to buy make up I’m not fully happy with. And at some point I will just stop paying any attention to the brand. Having said that, I love you Amanda and will support because you are honest and sincere. Love your OE palette.
The In A Daze Palette IS SO DISAPPOINTING. I picked it up at Target and the swatches are so dry and chalky. The purple shade in there is so bad, I've never had that experience with a CP shadow before.
This is such a great video. It's so comprehensive. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and for your honesty. 💜🤎💜🧡💚 I want to take the plunge and rearrange my mega palettes into curated smaller palettes but I am stuck on whether to label all of the shadows first. I need to just do it one way or the other because I will get so much more use that way. Everyone use code AMANDA ♡
I would say it would depend on if you would want to put the original palette back together at any point or if you find it important to have the color name to remember which shadow you want when arranging another color story. If you want to move stuff around a lot, or have a bigger collection, it may help a lot in finding that ONE perfect shade you want. You can get white dot stickers and most any department or office store, and I prefer to use a fast drying ultra fine tip pen (not gel) so they are less likely to get smudged and you can write small enough to see it when you're done.
