Happy New Year Fren!!! My curls needed a little TLC after a some protective styles and straightening it, so I tried a hair bond for the first time. I used Curlsmith's new Bond Curl Rehab Salve on one side and Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector on the other. And my curls are back and better than ever y'all! Have you tried a hair bond on your hair before? Let me know in the Comments below.
This is a bond treatment comparison.
Product ingredients are always going to be different i.e. Olaplex No. 3 is patented. Curlsmith contains natural protein. Product ingredients are always unique.
Curlsmith is curly girl method friendly, vegan, cruelty free as is the other brand.
Both products are for damaged hair / strengthening products.

How Often Should You Use The Bond Curl Rehab Salve? This will depend on your hair's porosity. To find this out, spray some water on a strand of dry, clean, product-free hair. High Porosity: The water will instantly absorb inside the hair. Use every 2-3 wash days for at least 30 minutes Medium Porosity: The water will form droplets on the surface of the hair and then absorb inside. Use every 3-4 wash days for at least 20 minutes Low Porosity: The water will form droplets on the surface of the hair, without absorbing. Use every 4-5 wash days for at least 15 minutes

Calling all low porosity girls, these are two totally different products one has protein and the other doesn’t. Our hair can’t handle too much protein so I’d definitely recommend olaplex No.3 for a weekly treatment and the curlsmith bond as a monthly treatment

Curlsmith is a protein treatment + conditioner while olaplex is a bonding treatment not meant to condition the hair (look at the ingredients). Curlsmith will have effects you can see and feel because it’s a conditioner and olaplex makes changes on a molecular level that you wouldn’t be able to see without a microscope - you definitely can’t see the hair bonding, which is totally different from clumping. Comparing the two as equals doesn’t really make sense so hopefully people consider this too and not just the info presented in this video!

I feel this is a misleading comparison because the two products do not purport to do the same thing. No shade, as someone with an audience, I think it’s important for you to specify the difference; as your fans will see you as an expert.
@ericawatson352
@ericawatson352 3 года назад
Agreed that this one feels a bit misleading to me. I also feel skeptical about the bangs comparison since her hair clips are in different spots and the part isn't centered. The ends of her hair look the same length to me - that bang is the only thing that looks different. I don't mean to nitpick, but that plus the influx of other youtubers all doing the same exact thing, doesn't sit well with me.

@leoskiss3390
@leoskiss3390 3 года назад
I’m happy for her honestly but it would have been nice to see the curlsmith used over the course of maybe 3 wash days to see the improvement of the hair not simply comparing it to a totally different product which will always have a different result, I’ve used Olaplex many times and I just used the Curlsmith last night, Totally different results and honestly you could probably use the products together since one is a bond multiplier and one is a protein treatment

@@KimberlyCherrell yea no need to be so rude. I’m happy you can get paid for this but it was a misleading review. you didn’t even use the whole Olaplex line so I can’t even properly trust this review in comparison to Curlsmith. You can’t fully review Olaplex if you’re not using the products the way they are intended and yet compare it to a product that isn’t the same. It is misleading unfortunately.

Olaplex 3 works better paired with 0! My shedding decreased dramatically with the Olaplex so I’d defo recommend it especially if you are looking for more strength. I’ll give curl smith a try for the definition

@shannonmorris8384 2 года назад
Curlsmith actually replenishes protein so shouldn't be used often just for styling. Too much protein will wreck a low porosity head of hair if you do it too often. However that first protein treatment should be super helpful. Olaplex would be a good weekly or bi-weekly treatment (while Curlsmith would be more of once every 6 weeks to 2 months.

I love olaplex. I first tried 0, 3,4,5,8. I wasn't sure at first if I noticed a difference after the first treatment. 2nd use, I noticed more of a difference. I decided to have a cosmetologist to purchase no. 1& 2 for me. I noticed a big difference but u should only use 1&2 once a month. I use the rest of olaplex once a week. It definitely bonds the hair and strengthens it. I heard good things about curlsmith but I doubt if I will try it because I'm to in love with olaplex.
