NEW Curlsmith Strength Recipe VS. Olaplex! REPAIR DAMAGED HAIR 

FYI- This is a bond treatment comparison. No product is being bashed here! :) Product ingredients are always going to be different i.e. Olaplex No. 3 is patented. Curlsmith contains natural protein. Product ingredients are always unique. Curlsmith is curly girl method friendly, vegan, cruelty free as is the other brand. Both products are for damaged hair / strengthening products!

I love when people say "I read the label and I don't know what most of the ingredients are" like that is a bad thing. Just because something is "natural" doesn't make it good for you and because you don't recognize the name of ingredients doesn't mean it's bad.

Yah this Curly Smith Bond is amazing words cant explain. Its literally bringing back my curls and I have only used it twice I don't straighten my hair but I do have dyed, colored bleached hair. I'm shocked!!! I will definitely keep using.

Nothing is compared to olaplex, it's about the unique technology to deeply repair the hair, its not a polishing product

Hi Kelly, first of all your hair is looking SO GORGEOUS. I. Cant. Even! 😍 This is an interesting product! My virgin hair is low porosity and doesn't like much protein. It DOES like Olaplex which is NOT a protein treatment(although it's often used or referred to as such) but relies on the patented bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate to rebuild the broken bonds. The Curlsmith main building ingredient is the Amino acid, Creatine. I haven't read much about how deep it penetrates into the hair but it does seem to have repairative properties. I like the rest of the Curlsmith ingredients far better than the rest of Olaplex's and I want to give this a try and see how my hair likes it. Thanks for the review and demo!

SO BOMB! I Need to try this new bond treatment ASAP! I too been using Olaplex numbe 3 for a long time, but I just don’t think it has enough slip for my tight 3C curls and I just don’t like the fact that they have a Methosulfate in the ingredients list. Thanks for this comparison! 😍🙌🏽

Olaplex girl here but I’m so intrigued by this curlsmith... I know Olaplex doesn’t contains protein. I just colored my curls and I used Olaplex right after and my curls were soooo defined and soft so I will be trying this as well lovely video girl always that hair !!! 😍😍

Theyre not really similar tho. Olaplex doesnt have protein its just bonding but the curlsmith is protein based and can potentially lead to protein overload if you use it with all these protein based products (but olaplex wont)

Personally.. I have used the cream and the jelly from the scalp line because everybody was raving about it and I’ve been struggling to find products that will do well with my hair. Well when it’s fully dried it just feels kind of strange on my hair.. it doesn’t feel soft or anything, almost a little tacky. Idk if I’m using them wrong or something but I’m really disappointed because they are so expensive 😭😭

Hi I’m Amor, and I was wondering if you could help me with my hair. I’ve been struggling so much and have been trying to find an influencer who has similar hair to mine :/ it’s a mix between 3a/3b at its best but 2c/3a at its worst.

I cannot use Olaplex, because it contains an ingredient which is a strong allergen for me. The whole head itches and dehydrates the hair. You say Curlsmith is a viable alternative?

I use Olaplex #3 with Olaplex #0 and get good results. I am very interested in trying Curlsmith Bond treatment since it looks like it does the same thing. You get twice the amount of Curlsmith product for the same cost of the Olaplex#3. So I guess I will be heading to Ulta soon! Lol.

Question: Is the Curlsmith Bond Curl Rehab Slave scientifically proven to reconnect the di-sulfide bonds in the hair like the Olaplex products? Or is it just a protein treatment unlike Olaplex....which is not a protein treatment at all. It is very easy to just go off of how a product makes your hair look and feel without knowing what it is really doing scientifically. If you think this is important, please research and reply. Just reading comments. There are apparently a lot of experts commenting with no idea of what they are talking about. I suggest you refer to someone that can explain Olaplex treatments. In this case #3. So if there is a #3, there must be a #1and #2…also #4 and #5…and more! #1&#2, are the stars of the show, 3 is for at home use until your next Salon treatment. I’m new to the Curlsmith products and love them, but Olaplex is a whole different ballgame!!! I guess no one noticed that she use all curlsmith products together which are formulated to work together…Lol!!! Maybe next she should use the Olaplex line, since they are formulated to work together also!!!!

You can check your porosity easier. Put few hair in a glass of water, so it is covered with water, for 5 minutes check if the hair sunk on the bottom than it is high, middle or top it is low.

Both look great. I like olaplex a tiny more. But, I would prefer curlsmith because the ingredients are clean!!

You are wonderful and I only watched this because of you. Unfortunately after one use of curl smith (shampoo condition and styler) I had an allergic reaction. Natural isn’t necessarily good. BTW-underneath your hair was more curly with the olaplex. I know it’s a sponsored video but Curl Smith has become the new DevaCurl....

Olaplex is better for me because I have low porosity and my hair is protein sensitive but I used other curl smith products and they’re the bomb

with all the products after both bonds we can really see the results !!! all the female RU-vidrs do the same mistake . just let your hair dry naturally after rinsing the product and you'll see the real results !!

I don't think these 2 products could be compared. Curl Smith is protein based. Olaplex is protein free.

I think the curlsmith side is more defined because of the added oils in the curlsmith product. Olaplex works more on the inside of the hair so frizz isn't really the target issue. For natural curlies I think the curlsmith would work great but for people who color or heat style their hair i'd be more comfortable with the Olaplex just because they put a lot of R&D in their patent.

Nothing is similar to Olaplex unless they say there is a molecule there able to bridged the disulfide bond of our hair, which Olaplex does. All of these copy cat treatments are strong protein, nutrition and/or repair for the hair, but no different from a hair mask. It is superficial.

*Sigh* this review is disappointing for several reasons. 1. Olaplex 3 has a patented ingredient that actually repairs the physical bond in hair. It is not a conditioning or protein treatment, though it does have some conditioning ingredients in it. 2. The Curlsmith product is not an actual bond repair. Its at its heart just a conditioning protein treatment. The ingredients in the curlsmith product CANNOT repair actual bonds that have been damaged by bleaching, coloring, or styling. Period. There is no SCIENCE behind this claim. Feel free to use it as a deep conditioner and protein treatment, but its not going to repair bonds like Olaplex does.
