Nothing wrong with that fella, like you said they have a lot extra from a normal VXR Astra! I had a ASTRA VXR Nurburgring and really enjoyed it to be honest.
Dead impressed with it mate honestly. Had a couple before SXI and SRI (both diesel), this is a different ball game in comparison. Got to admit... I've got a soft spot for a VXR too 😄
If you run an extra half a litre of gearbox oil and use good oil like Fuchs or Millers the gear boxes don't have to many issues, the recaro have been retro fitted as the only 888 that had them had the 888 logo in as an option and the stealth 888 had them. These are hold more value than astra vxr's now and tuning options have come along way with help from Adam at enhance performance and Warren at wg motorworks
Thanks for the information mate. Will take that on board, tempted to have the box off and uprate the bearings just to be safe. Spot on with the seats, they're out of another Astra... GSI I think. Cheers mate 💙
@@GEARED_MrLucas if your gearbox isn't making any noise or feeling notchy I wouldn't worry to much tbh Just regular flushing it should be fine. Astra gsi didn't come with treadlines bud. But either way better than the old sport seats that came in the astra H Sri spec cars. A white line adjustable rear anti roll bar are good for these, but if you go decent level coilovers take the rarb off
Cheers bud. Will get the box oil done and go from there, just don't want it going pop when I'm blasting it round Cadwell/Donington! Haha. Previous owner stripped them out of another 888 that's no longer about... So not where they were sourced from initially. Already got a RARB on it mate, it's desperate for a good geo setup though, so we'll see how it goes after that's done :)
Yes they're the Mk4, abit more sought after and rocketing up in price! Unfortunately I sold this the other day, got a few things going on so it had to make way 😞
fantastic cars, not the optional seats though are they as they had 888 on them so maybe out of an evo? Tyres are terrible so glad i binned mine off but mega mega cars. Whiteline arb on the back is a must they handle so planted with them but fantastic capable cars.
Spot on mate, They're not the original ones it came with the Standard SRI initially. Think they're out of an Astra GSI... Definirely going to invest in some more tyres after I've seen these off. It's already got a RARB but it's in need of a good geo setup. Glad you like them mate 💙
@@GEARED_MrLucas I remember the review on top gear they raced a 888 against the petrol VXR. Performance wise they where identical. But the 888 looked so much better in the handling department. Brilliant choice i can't wait for more videos 😀
