Well, I like the design a lot. It looks really good. I never thought I would buy a Ford, but their Ford Kuga PHEV Vignale convinced us at once. Well done. It is ordered as our second car.
Really we don't need to talk about the interior, but exterior wise I prefer the old one. The old front looked beefier and in general the old one looks sharper. This one, especially the front, looks like "yet another modern ford".
Although it's not the best looking car ever released, I do like the soft design. It's a welcome change from the typical new car design that always overdo it with big grille, small headlight, hard body line, creases, fake vents, sloping roof, angles, etc.
@@deramon1000 Yes. Want a ford SUV which is also quick and you live in the US, get an Edge ST when they come out. This however will please most of the crossover market in Europe
Ford should fire the guy who designed that front. It is an SUV for god's sake. Interior and back design is average. Tiguan looks classy, means business and will age well. Peageot is electrifying.
@@boskoskender8112 kuga is a fat hatchback now....the 2010 escape/kuga looked far better...i like it when cars have that boxy look it makes it look more powerful and striking...this legit looks like a kia sportage had sex with a ford ecosport
I just gotten a 2020 Ford Escape SE. My old 2015 Ford Escape broke down 3 days ago in the late morning. My sister did helped me in getting the newer Ford Escape. There was a 2019 White One with less miles on it. That one I will compare it towards the 2015 one. I loved the body style on the Newer one a lot better. It is the same age when I got the 2015 one almost 5 years ago. The 2015 Ford Escape has been good with me for those years of driving it.
Just because it is not out yet does not mean it cannot be current compared to other modern vehicles. This does not feel fresh. To me the styling of the exterior does not suit the larger scale, I really like the current MK8 Fiesta ST (chiseled looks) which shares similar details to this but works better with a compact small hatch. :)
I have the 2016 Kuga TiT X and its a superb car. Great handling, great suspension, good use of space, great comfort, great to drive, tons of torque. Got a spacesaver spare, 4WD, sunroof, 370NM at approx 1700rpm. IF I wanted sportier I would buy a BMW. IF I wanted more space I would probably buy a Skoda Kodiaq or similar size car.. at a push maybe a Ford Escape. The Mk2 has best pretty much best rear seat/ boot space in its class and best headroom. I would be VERY surprised if the MK3 or any rival to MK2 has better suspension or comfort! Good advice to mid SUV buyers though. AVOID QASHQAIS for VERY POOR rear seat legroom and POOR boot space.. go for at least an XTRAIL or a Kuga sized car.. you wont regret it!
My first thoughts: big improvement over the old models - I really don't mind that some say it looks like a Cayenne because it actually is a Focus design that finally works in SUV proportions, opposed to the hatchback which looks a bit odd, mainly because of the long wheelbase and endless nose...
How can you say 'hell no' when you don't even know the standard kit the car comes with? Considering how non-generous VW are with the standard kit on their base models, comparing starting prices makes VW look good only on paper.
The Tiguan is crap. The 2.0 diesel is a ticking time bomb, they eat wheel bearings and front end bushings like there is no tomorrow, the Haldex system is notorious for breaking on all VAG-products and the rear LED clusters are terrible, they don't usually even last until the end of the warranty and cost an arm and a leg to replace.
One important advantage over forthcoming X1 and Volvo XC40 PHEV's. This has an over 2.0L (2.5L) engine, those other don't. Why does that matter? If its a company car and your getting approved fuel rates (AFR) paid for your business mileage, the X1 and XC40 you will only get 14p per mile. The Kuga (like the Outlander) you get 21p per mile. Enough to run it on petrol even on long trips and still make a small profit!
I literally commented on a release video of this SUV and said that it would look better with body color cladding and better wheels, i basically described the Kuga ST Line that I didnt even know existed till now
I hope we get a version with the lower body trim painted to the cars color here in North America instead of black plastic around the wheel wells, rear bumper, lower part of doors. It’s one of the reasons I bought my escape in black...to try and hide it...
@A real bisexual petrol-head I can agree! Certainly, the VW Group have fantastically well laid out interiors. They're very logical, clean and well built nowadays however, deeply dull in design. I've got a 2006 Accord Tourer and, I find that it's a very much attractive interior that's quite timeless and even today, modern. Besides the dated infotainment which still works wonders, minus the touchscreen controlled climate control.
That front end is still a little off, but looks better than the ones shown on the Escapes for America so far. Hopefully we get an ST version with that front end.
so im on the fence about getting the new one over the 2017 kuga. how do you get the 200+ mpg? im looking at that model but the 200mpg confuses me. would that be on a long run or round town?
How the hell does this: cdn.motor1.com/images/mgl/YKBwe/s3/2019-ford-kuga.jpg Look like this: st.motortrend.com/uploads/sites/10/2015/09/2016-Hyundai-Tucson-front-three-quarter-022.jpg Some of you are getting out of control with this 'everyone is copying Hyundai' rubbish.
I have a '68 plate Kuga Vignale and I think it looks a lot better than the new 2020 version The new version with the standard Ford 'look', same as Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo, C Max does away with 'individuality'. Who wants a car, that from the front, looks like all Ford's. The '68 model has a new moulded plastic grill, the rear looks large and powerful and with a 180 BHP diesel engine who need anything more.
Very interesting how this car is called the Kuga in Europe, where as here in the USA, it’s called the Escape. I’m pretty sure some of the older models were called Escape over in Europe as well, and I don’t know why Ford decided to rename it the Kuga over there. 😅 I drive a 2016 Ford Escape and it’s a great car. 👍
If it's anything like the new Focus it will be a joy to drive. Ford has done some successful hybrids in the past and it has Apple Carplay. Could be a winner.
Noise cancelling systems can be bad for your hearing. Current Kuga looks better imho and why lower this car vs old Kuga when existing ST Line drivers complain about harsh ride.
I have a suggestion: the ford trucks on the states looks amazing, if the headlights & some of the design were simliar, maybe it would look better overall? Not sure about this lol, the current design looks nice for the price range
The Peugeot 3008 should be the most coolest looking suv NOT Vw tiguan. Don't get me wrong the Tiguan looks good but certainly not cooler than the Peugeot 3008!!
So the hybrid diesel gets the same mpg as the non hybrid diesel 😂 I’d believe 200+ mpg when I see it 😂 only vehicle to do over 100mpg has gotta be a motorbike...
They show you some well-to-do model in an isolated multi-million pound home with a handy car port and proper wall charger when reality is some owner, in debt up to the eyeballs living in a semi-detatched house with an extension cable trailed across a pavement (which by the way is illegal). Gotta love these advertising guys...
Old Kuga is definately a better car..lowering ride height is a bad idea. New Kuga should aim to match all rivals with rear seat up boot space. Noise cancelling is the wrong way to solve noise problems as they never work perfectly.
I have a Kuga PHEV ( Vignale with full options) which I received late June. I was very satisfied until a call back action (20s44) which was released early August by Ford, telling me there’s a problem for all these PHEV with the battery, which causes this car can take fire. This apparently van even happen when simply parked. The modification could only be implemented after August 24 in the garage. Meaning for most of July and August, I had to drive on Fuel only, as it got forbidden by Ford to charge the battery. On August 25, the Ford dealer mode some kind of modification and told menI could drive again on electricity. However, soon after, I learned from Ford that there’s going to be a second recall since the car can still take fire. Very worrysome. They told me I should stop charging electricity. Apparently, every Ford Kuga PHEV received this message. It was followed by a letter of Ford to the Kuga PHEV owners on Sep 15th , confirming this second recall with the same number : 20s44. The customer servixe has been non responsive on my demands when the problem is now going to be fixed. The Ford dealer 5ells le the sales and delivery of this PHEV modell is even halted now, because the problem is quite important. Ford has no date announced yet on when the cars will be adjusted so we can use it again what we bought it for : driving on electricity. Once the fix is available ( date unknown so far ) There is a delay of 6 weeks at the Ford dealer to get an appointment they told me. This means , I will at earliest be able to use the electricity again in late November. A horror story. We feel very screwed by the imcompetence of Ford, who brought a car on the market without being ready to be released. And they don’t offer any compensation. Shame on you, FORD
I wonder why it is called different names in different markets 🤔 Like in the U.S (where I live) it's called the Ford Escape But in Europe it's the Kuga...?
Alex G The first Kuga was a german made one only for europe. They imported the escape for the second and third Generation to cut costs and go for the "one ford-philosophy" but kept the Name
. . . . . . . It's been years since ford dropped mazda , volvo , land rover etc. etc Despite that , its vehicles STILL resemble A LOT to those previous brands i just mention.
How does the boot space compare to the Outlander PHEV? On paper the Kuga is supposed to be bigger which I find hard to believe since the Outlander essentially is a 7 seater. Judging from my field research the Outlander appears to be a much bigger car with much bigger boot space than the (old) Kuga? I highly doubt the new Kuga has grown that much?!
