I had to Google this album because your timeline did not sound right but gah dang.... I was a Junior in high school when this song came out. What the hell. Saw them with good Charlotte when I was 18 in San Diego
@Ry Guy my buddy was in a band back then and the singer of rufio thought he was funny took my friends bass and hid it before he went on. So my friend decked him in the face hahaha
It's amazing how much influence this band has had. It influenced ATL to get their name, it was what Fall Out Boy wanted their first record to sound like, and it's influenced Paramore with some of their lyrics. I don't know many bands that have had that large of an influence without being legendary.
The butthole surfers imo. Their name made them popular when they were released but I feel like it distracts people from how influential they were these days. Not just another quirky attention seeking band name. Their first album was literally credited for inventing the grunge genre. One of Kurt's favorite bands. Imo they were to grunge what newfoundland glory was to pop punk.
Never met him personally but I saw his big ass yacht years ago and his giant fishing boat this year at the Big Rock tournament. Was really hoping he'd come into my job and I'd have a cool celebrity tipped everyone $1k story but no dice.
I just graduated High School. I used to listen to this at the Bus Stop on my way to work. This song got me through some rough days. God Bless NFG !!!!!!! Just turned 37.
Bew Found Glory was always a step above the other Pop-Punk bands of the era. Every single song and lyric is genuine and filled with so much passion and feeling and it comes out in their music. You can feel it strongly in all their songs, the raw emotion is just so real! Thats why NFG is one of the greatest Pop Punk bands of all time.
Of all the bands to make it in the late 90's and early 2000's This band, New Found Glory had and still has to this day one of the best sounds any band has ever created. The tones of the guitars, Jordans vocals (which have only gotten better over the years. Listen to coming home for proof of that). Lyrics are simple, but any kid who wore dickie shorts and had spikey hair could relate. Its a damn shame these guys don't get the credit they deserve. I hope that other people can agree to that.
35 years old now but still feel like highschool was yesterday.... we need our music to make a comeback to start drowning out this mumble crap that is so popular now... next on my list NOFX
Lyrics I've been waiting for a good day I've been holding back long enough I've been hurting to tell you some things It's not the falling of the temperature That's making all our bones run cold It's the breeze you make The presence felt when you're around me And it feels like I'm at an all-time low Slightly bruised and broken From our head on collision I've never seen this side of you Another tragic case of feeling Bruised and broken From our head on collision I've never seen this side of you Another tragic case And I'm still Waiting for a good day I think I've held this long enough I think it's safe to tell you some things It's not just what you say to people And it's not the way you look at me It's the way you present yourself For all your worst critics to see And it feels like I'm at an all-time low Slightly bruised and broken From our head on collision I've never seen this side of you Another tragic case of feeling Bruised and broken From our head on collision I've never seen this side of you Another tragic case Then you were gone (You were gone) All this time You just didn't know it yet (You were gone) All this time You just didn't know it yet You were gone And it feels like (Feels like) I'm at an all-time low Slightly bruised and broken From our head on collision I've never seen this side of you Another tragic case of feeling Bruised and broken From our head on collision I've never seen this side of you Another tragic case Another tragic case of feeling (Bruised and broken) Another tragic case and I've been (Still waiting for a good day) Still waiting for a good day
God 2009 was one of the best years of my life. My dad and I would just sit in the car and listen to these types of songs and wouldn't go anywhere. Just sit in the car, at the computer, or just in the garage and listen to this kind of stuff. The smallest memories like that make this song and many others one of the best things I've ever listened to.
I miss this days!!! The great colour of the world, playing bmx, great sunset, playimg skateboard, i feel like i was living in usa back then even im asian :)
Kids, I remember when this song came out. I was 15 years old when MTV played music! Time passed by and I got married, had kids, and eventually they grew up and got married and had kids of their own. I'm here reminiscing the good ole days. Life goes too fast! Enjoy your youth!
Wow, it's 4 in the morning and I'm just getting the notification that i got a Reply. Thanks NFG for the perfect timing to help me distract me from my thoughts
Barbara C right? My high school was 2000-2004. These guys, Good Charlotte, Finch, Simple Plan and all those bands. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, pizza, khakis, lip rings/tattoos and good times. Such nostalgia
Thank you MTV2 Greatest Hits for giving me this song to like. Early 2000s were the best ever. All my current favorite bands came from that time. Including NFG!! I didn't even know it was humanely possible for instruments to make such an amazing instrumental as represented in this song.
I noticed one of the things I like about this band is the fact that always able to tell what words they're singing. That shit is crisp as hell. Is that a pop punk thing, or is it just balanced for good singing because they put a lot of emphasis on harmony?
we should listen to what we like and please us. We do not have to label things we like! We just like! So let yourself live and be happy! :) Listen to the songs you like no matter the genre :)
I was 4 when this Song Released in 2002. I'm 24 now. I can't believe this Song is 20 Years Old and I still remember watching Music Videos on MTV every Night while sitting on my Family's Living Room Couch in my Mom's and Older Sister's Old OLD Apartment having a good time and enjoying myself WAY before I Started School. We all know that if you want to Watch Music Videos now: We have RU-vid to Search them up. I'm so glad I can Watch these Music Videos from the 90's and 2000's anytime I want ever since I Started watching RU-vid During the Summer of 2009. I'm Proud to be a 2000's Kid. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh good times good times.
Don’t you folks think that this song has a blink 182’s self-titled album vibe? Like in 2004 the whole genre went for a more “mature” style with blink-182’s s-t, sum 41’s Chuck, this guys Catalyst and even Green Day’s American Idiot. Man that felt like the sunset of pop punk, so freakin nostalgic
Don't forget Yellowcard's "Ocean Avenue", Brand New's "Deja Entendu", The Used's self-titled and Taking Back Sunday's "Tell All Your Friends", just to name a few
@@dillon1058 God I just went back listen to Ocean avenue and teared up some. For some reason there are a few songs from back that that when I listen to them I tear up a little bit of miss times gone by
Real awesome pop-punk like this is still being made today!!!! You just need to know where to find it... Search up 'Keep Me Hiding' by HeadAche... it rocks, you won't regret it!!!!!
I have always loved this song. However, I admit that, as a kid, I didn't entirely understand what this song was about despite the lyrics being pretty straight forward. Surprisingly, this song means more to me now than it did when it was first released. I really wanna see NFG live.
