SUSHI No I do enjoy the current pop punk bands and the music they produce, I just miss it when those bands that brought pop punk to where it is now, was more on radio and not having this mainstream pop everywhere I go that's all
I know man!! Time has changed and a so has music. It felt great as a young teen and having NFG blasting out of your headphones at school. Still a huge fan and always will be a 30 year old teenager
Love this lol. The early part of a decade is always still like the previous one but the 90s vibe kept going even as late as 2005 or 06 with music like this, slow internet and skateboarding
I know I'm only one voice but let's bring the 2000s back!!! Punk rock spiked hair skateboarding and road trips to beach house to party with friends like american pie 2 is that too much to ask let's bring it back!!!
Takes me back to my senior year of high school, 2000/01. I was that kid listening to AFI, The Ataris, New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, etc while living in a sea of Limp Bizkit fans.
Jamie Roberts I was a sophomore 2000/2001. I remember when this song first came on..I was HOOKED. haha. Now, here I am 30 years old...15 years later...going to see these guys in concert in October for the 4th time.
+Jamie Roberts Dude.... 2001...6th grade for me. Still some of the best years for punk/pop punk (Let's face it... we're never gonna have good bands like those again.)
I would suggest... "San Dimas High School Football Rules" by the Ataris "Responsibility" and "Punk Rawk Show" (that song is older than 2000/01 but still good) by MxPx "In Too Deep" was always my favorite Sum41 song. "Promise" by Eve 6. "Somewhere on Fullerton" by Allister. "California Girl" by Lucky 7. Just a few to start out with. :D
Bought this CD when it was first released...never thought that almost 20 years later, I would still be listening to them...and FINALLY seeing them live for the first time in June.
I'm extremely jealous. I found out a few weeks ago they were touring to two locations near where I live, but I will be out of town during both shows. Hopefully they do on tour near me again! I'd love to see them live!
If you're a pop punk lover like me, I'd really appreciate it if you could check out my bands new demo! Pop Punk from the Uk. Much love 🤘🏻💀 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lxdWngfS7XU.html
I lived in coral springs fl 95-99. Remember this kid Nick wearing a grey new found glory shirt to school everyday. Sawgrass middle school days lol. I moved back to chicago before they got really big. Proof your little local band always has a chance of getting big.
I was born in the early 2000s so I was still really young when this kind of music was popular, but I mean, pop punk is wayyyyyyy better than most of today's music.
I was 14 when it came out. Best times ever. So jealous you guys had the Warped Tour. We have Reading festival (which was amazing in 02 when I went) but has gone to crap now

Man this is my jam, thought my life was perfect. When I was trying to get back with one of my first loves from high school. She was perfect, but had a kid and just couldn't commit to actually being with me and make decisions. So I'll listen to this forever and ask have I waited to long have, have I waited to long to see you.
Everybody missing those days, here's a real way to go back to the past: remember a place that you used to go to when this song came out. I was 7 back then and for me it was my first elementary school that I had to change after 4th grade. And today I went there, actually I haven't been there for ages. And as I looked at the school building, I just started playing this song imagining it's 2000-2001 and this song came out not long ago. I did feel I went 18 years back in time. It really works!
Man the nostalgia attached to this song makes me emotional. Screw 2024 ! Can we just go back this where it was just hanging out in parking lots with friends, no smart phones, meeting new people, and pizza !? :(
Funny you say that. I loved these guys, but they were a guilty pleasure. They weren't "punk" enough. Now I don't care. Anyway, there is still good music now, but it's not usually mainstream. Listen to your college station... do some exploring online. Days N Daze is my favorite new band.
back in the day when I used to download anything and anything that was free, I randomly came across one song that would introduce me to a band that defined a big part of my life. You're listening to it now.
good thing about being African is that you always late to catch up then just when everything popular sucks....I get this....plus all other rock that popular nations feel are old stuff....I love being alive now n listening to this.....
Maybe that some of these older American bands take way longer to catch on over there? Or never got that big in the first place so tracking their music down now is more of a revelation.
