The bellows (expandable metal straw) is actually very handy when starting campfires. With proper use you don't have to get your face right down by the fire to coax it to life. Also in an extreme situation or a bushcrafting exercise you can use it to burn out wood to form bowls or cups, as well as a few other creative uses.

I appreciate the feedback. I’ve always just got down in there but this could be helpful. I do like the ability to burn out wood for making some extreme bushcrafting items. Thanks for sharing and please consider liking and subscribing for future videos! 👍🏻

For the price I think it would be handy to just put it in your car. Because you never know what could happen. Thanks for showing this

If you are interested in prepping, you probably already have most if not all of these things. I would be nervous if my survival depended on some of these tools. I can see gifting something like this to someone who isn't prepared for anything, in which case, they probably don't know how to use any of these things either. Hopefully the instructions would be helpful.

Yea I don’t think this is meant to be a fully inclusive kit. Like you said it would be better for a starter kit or a compact kit that could fit in your vehicle. Thanks for commenting 👍🏻

Got same kit, from wife… I have absolutely no idea what that ancill circle is for on that saber card… :/… figure it has to do with mapping… but not sure of the point

Yea in reality it pretty much useless. A real compass with dial would be much more useful. Thanks for commenting. 👍🏻

First thing I'd toss out is the card. No bottles to open in the woods, nor bolts to loosen or tighten. The knife, blanket, fishing gear(I'd add more hooks and more sinkers). The saw would be next to toss, as it will be easily broken. The ferro rod(which you call flint and steel, which it is not) is a keeper. I'm not big on sporks, probably toss. Put in a couple of real forks and spoons.Toss the bracelet. I like the water bottle holder and would keep(I always keep water in the car going to work to drink. The best is the "straw" to start fires and I'd keep it. The knife is fair and I'd probably keep it(though I do carry in the car a paring knife made by Old Hickory which will be easier to sharpen being 1095 HC steel in a sheath from Smoky Mountain Knife Works). The flashlight is okay, but I got one that is solar charged in the car. I already have a fire kit in the car, which includes tender, and multiple means of ignition. Would I buy this? Yes, it has some items I don't currently carry.

Thanks for commenting. Always interesting to see what everyone likes and prefers in their bag. You bring up some fair points but it appears we would pack ours a bit differently. Thanks again for commenting. Please consider sticking around and liking and subscribing 👍🏻

@@thingsmen Subbed. You gave a decent review. Again, a lot of these items are worthless in the woods. You'd be better off to carry a small ax or machete (which I do) in the trunk of the car for any wood processing chores. I have a "get home bag" with two days worth of food in the car, though my work place is just 18 miles away. As John Wayne said in Big Jake: "It pays to be careful."

@@gregzeigler3850 I agree. A nice hatchet would go further than most. I also carry a bunch of extra rags, small set of tools and flares in my rigs. Thanks again for commenting and being a part of the dialogue. 👍🏻
