Sadly, neutered males are a “unicorn” in my area! I search for a year after rescuing my 4 girls. Rescues & shelters actually chuckled when I inquired if they had any neutered males! I was actually considering getting a young rescue male & then getting him neutered. Then, mindlessly scrolling through FB, I found Podrick!!!!! A male who had been dumped at a chain pet store & taken in by a gp lover. She had him neutered & had introduced him into her herd. Life got in the way & she was looking to re-home him. I was ecstatic!!!! She required a pic of my cage set up & a small (much less than a neutering cost) fee. We chatted through messenger for a bit & I was hopeful that she would choose me & my girls to be his home. I waited anxiously & got a YES!!! I was going to slowly introduce them……but, my excitement got the better of me! I set up the floor of my piggie room & introduced them straight away. My dominant female submitted instantly & there was 5 mins of chasing & mounting. All was calm & everyone went about there business, as if he had been with them forever! It’ll be 2 years next month & I have to say, adding him made them all so zen. He squashes any girl squabbles immediately, in a kind & gentle way & has brought so much joy to the girls & myself. Hoping your intro goes just as smoothly & that they all enjoy their new friend!
Nacho looks ready to be the boss pig of his herd of ladies. I think Cali will be quick to friend him. The other two might take a little convincing, but I see him being the head Nacho pretty quickly.
Introduced a neutered boar (Pumpkin) from where they board at my local rescue, took the two girls along for a play date and popped them all together for an hour or so. The two girls, sisters who don't get along were around 3 and Pumpkin just under a year. Thankfully no issues whatsoever and they all settled in very well together at home, it also helped reduce the bickering between the sisters - excellent result and they've been living together for over a year now.
Wow! We got a male as a gift near 2 months ago. We kept them in separate cages. Now we put them in the same cage setup but with a divider over 3 inches apart. That way they get used to living near each other without any "horseplay". I can't wait to get him neutered and we can have a super cage setup.

I was surprised to see Callie so confident and curious with Nacho. Roxy was herself and it will be interesting once they have actual space together. Phoebe was doing well also. I still think Nacho's facial outline is like an upside down heart...it's so adorable!
I had this issue when I introduced my first Guinea Pig Half N Half to our new baby Guinea Pig Cinnamon. They are both females and thought it would be easy going….I was wrong 😅 Half N Half was very aggressive and was pulling and chewing at bars between them. I ended up keeping them in separate cages and kept slowly having them meet. They are in the same cage now but they now fighting to be the boss pig lol 😅😅😅

I can't believe how confident he is now, I've had my piggies six weeks now and their getting a bit more confident but can't touch them more then 10 seconds, working harder with them everyday ❤

This brings back memories of introducing my older sow to my two new baby girls. I was so scared my older sow, Phoebe, was going to be rude to the new babies, but she was so great with them and to this day, almost 2 years later, they are still like mother and daughters and I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out!
I also got a male (Karmel) for my girls some time ago and had to neuter him first. He was recovering very well and gained a nice amount of weight (+100g/5mo old) over 2 weeks past surgery 😊 I thought, it would be smart to introduce their smells first by switching some tunnels or pads between their cages and sadly as a reaction to that the male got depressed (we believe) as he almost stopped eating and any medication from the vet would urge him to eat more (surprisingly he was pooping normally) and after a week he lost over 100g and he was lighter than before we got him 😢 We decided to risk it and introduce them to each other exactly as our vet said was needed (4weeks), although we wanted to be sure and wait 6 weeks. Our girls were ~9-10mo old at that time, so an accidental pregnancy shouldn't be as risky as their pelvic bones were still flexible. Thankfully (or sadly) there are no mini Karmels squeaking around, but I would recommend either separating them completely or having their cages near each other permanently. We must not forget, that piggies are herd animals and can be very sensible to this type of stimulation 😔

To some extent may I say - he is quite smaller than the girls, but also confident and wanted to 'take charge'. The girls didn't let him and it wasn't a smooth introduction. He is also from another country and we have a feeling, that they don't quite speak the same language? (Girls are purring when angry, he does it when he's content, they are chirping when relaxed) But as time goes on, the dynamics change and we have the feeling, that when he reaches the same weight he will transition to a leader smoothly.
Your videos always tend to put a smile on my face. I’m really looking forward for when it is safe for Nacho to be able to be with the girls. It might be a tad interesting when Phoebe and Nacho get to truly try to bond, but I really do think things will work themselves out. ❤️

Nacho is adorable ! I love the way he zooms around with his hair flying through the air. Yes, I agree with you, he does seem very confident. Cali and Phebe are very intrigued by this bachelor. Poor Roxi seems shy and alittle fearful. All so adorable, I think this was a great idea for you to do this soft introduction. Maybe you can try this inside once in a while before the real thing . Why do they bite on the bars? My Teddy use to bite on the bars so frequently. He would stand up as I walked by and bite away. In any case, maybe the frequent soft introductions will help with the real introduction, I hope and pray all goes well. Your doing a wonderful job with him Sarah, keep up your great work. We also have a boy Olaf (formally Snuffle Snout the 2nd of west wiskerton) who is also from Nevilles and his six weeks end soon.They may even have been cage mates !

Hello Sarah I just had to give my new baby back he is four months old and I've got two boys 2yrs old they just wouldnt bond with him it got pretty violent I tried for three days. But it was just stressing them all out one of my piggys bit down so hard his teeth was stuck in the wicker basket so the best thing was to give the baby back I'm devastated I feel like I failed him but boys arnt so easy to bond I've learnt ❤. Hello, I've been lurking and watching many of your videos and decided to comment :) Nacho is such a character! And he really is so floofy! Callie is definitely interested in him, that'll be interesting to play out! Shame Nacho got a little stressed by it all, but I really look forward to their real introduction! Just wondering how old was Nacho when he got neutered and did the vets go more on weight than how old he was. We have just got a new male guinea pig and have got three girls two of which are lunkarya piggies and we would like him to live with them. We also have an old male piggy he lost he brother last year he will be eight this year. We wasn't sure wether to but both boys together but think the old one is to old to be bothered with a young male. Me and my daughter enjoy watching your videos.
I'm very interested to watch the next intros! I've just adopted two males who are challenging each other for dominance (i didn't realize that's what it was until I saw your videos!), and I've wondered if it would help to introduce a third, perhaps a female? Is that a bad idea? I really want to avoid separating them.
I'd advise to give them much neutral space and time for the introducion. A place where they can run freely with good grip on the ground so they can sort it out :) Don't give them many hideys and only ones with two or more entrances so no-one gets stuck. Some food can help for stress relieve 😊 And even if it's hard sometimes don't intervene, only if theres blood or something different really dangerous for them. Good luck 🍀❤
Could Phones remain the boss lady? Mares often reign supreme over geldings in the horse herd. I've noticed similarities in behavior between my two favorite herbivores. I am interested to see what happens and wish them the best in the bonding process.

Make sure you have a large cage, lots of hay, plenty of hideys, some kind of bedding, and veggies! Also, make sure you don’t get any unhealthy treats for your Guinea pigs! (Also, Guinea pigs can be a bit messy, so you will have to clean a lot!) 💕✨
Hello sarah I'm a new piggy mammy ive got a two year old and I have one who is just over a year old. I've just had a baby piggy his name is crumble and hes four months old I've been crying all night because the baby is showing lots of stress chewing the bars and pulling on them. He wont come near me he used to live only in hay so he doesn't know what a nice bed is or a hidy he has gone into the skipper bed he seemed to prefer that but I'm so stressed and dont know how to introduce him to the others and when I'd really appreciate some help please. ❤❤❤❤❤
