New Job Update! Plastic Surgery Nurse |Q&A
Thanks for all the love and support! Here is the much requested video updating you guys on my new job as a plastic surgery nurse. Sorry for how long it is but there was a lot to cover. I'm really enjoying my new job and getting to learn a whole new specialty. Like I mentioned in the video, I'm definitely planning on making a day in the life video in my new job. One for surgery day and one for clinic day because they are totally different days! Let me know which one you guys would be interested in seeing first.

Your job sounds amazing & you look very happy talking about it. Ive always wondered how surgical center nursing is...I plan to experience that one day. Something to note is to make sure you have individual liability insurance, especially in an outpatient surgical setting, if you dont already have it as extra protection. Congrats again on the job, seems like a great fit:)

I just want to say how happy I am for you! I’m coming up on my 2 years as a critical care nurse and I can’t wait to go to a surgery center! That’s my GOAL! And to do plastic surgery!

Thank you for posting this video! I have two semesters left of nursing school and you are doing my dream job! It sounds like exactly what i want to do and i enjoyed hearing all the little details. Ive always been interested in surgery, mostly plastic surgery. I look forward to watching more videos

Thank you for this informative video :)! And congratulations on the new job! I would suggest you do a week in the life video-and that way we can see sort of all aspects instead of having two separate videos I am currently waiting to hear back from the school i want to go to, to get my nursing degree so your videos have been very inspirational and motivating

You reminded me of my job when I used to work for the President of the Plastic Surgeon Association of Middle East..I kind of worked through all of the areas from being a pre op nurse to OR and a couple times worked as a Post op nurse too. My job was not confined there..I had been a Laser tech too and operated various aesthetic machines ..It really is never ending learning..

This is so cool 😫 I got accepted to a great RN program but had to turn it down due to, well, life. I was bummed but then I figured out I could get into the LVN/LPN program that same semester so I did! But I’ve just had a bad experience starting off as a new LVN, doesn’t help that I’m super shy, and now feel unmotivated to pursue my RN. I’ve always heard that RNs don’t make much unless you work at a hospital. But it’s great to know that’s not exactly the case! I too love dermatology but been hesitant to apply to one since it says “3-5 years LVN experience.” 🤦🏻‍♀️ great video! Gives me some motivation to think to perhaps keep pursuing nursing or change field, idk!

I'm happy you got some motivation! keep working toward those goals and you will see the fruit of all your hard work. You're young and sound passionate about the field. Don't stand in your own way and look in different derm offices, reach out to them, do some digging. You never know!! best wishes!

You’re so stunning!!! Also i wanted to ask , was it hard getting into nursing school for you ? It probably depended on your hs GPA but I’ve heard that it’s extremely competitive to get in and many times you need at least a 3.8

Aw thank you!! I guess it depends on the school you're applying to. There were some schools I looked into that were more competitive and you had to have pristine GPA and there were some that didn't focus so much on GPA but are still awesome programs. I didn't have a perfect GPA and I went to nursing school in a private university with smaller classes. They wanted to see mainly my college GPA from my pre reqs at community college. Tuition there cost more but it was better quality.

I kinda talk about it in my nursing Q&A video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-210HS4JQ0wM.html I basically studied using the current to the year ATI book that the school suggested I used and went through the chapters but also did the two practice tests and timed myself in each section

I’m in nursing school and everyone says they want to work in OB/Peds. I don’t,I want to work in Plastic surgery or Orthopedics. I think it’s so cool.

You are going to assist in surgery as a RN? what state are you in? I am a Family Nurse Practitioner student, I worked as a circulating/scrub RN for 5 years. I am a year way from becoming a FNP and am seriously interested in plastic/procedures, what would you advise for me to start getting familiar with this new career?
