I love this song so much cause its always been me and my mom until 3 then she meet my stepdad and been together for 15 years and my real dad was only a weekend warrior until he meet a girl then we slowly stopped talking for months and I would always try to do something fun with my dad but the chick he meet keep getting in the way of that by spending his money on herself and after he finally cut the chick off for cheating so many times he lived with my grandpa and even then we barely talked even when I would try too first and now I got a job, learned how to shave, know right and wrong and everything else because of my mom so super big ups for the single moms and big ups to L for understanding the father deal even though he got his father and not slagging moms.👍👍👍
My sons father was in prison most of his life and when he did come home he was very abusive. So we left. I feel bad my son didn't have the experiences I did with my dad. My dad died when my son had just turned 13 that man did everything a dad would do for his son. I was in tears I feel bad my son didn't get to have a good dad. Any child that dont get to have one of their parents in their life breaks my heart. This song had me in tears feeling his words and his pain in his voice. Shout out to all the single parents ifs not easy job. We have to teach our kids to do better than we did with our kids be there in their life no matter what. Every child needs a mom and dad

I can't stop crying 💔 I grew up with my father, but it still hurts to see this happen to many people 😢 My husband's father on the other hand left when he was six yrs old, and wasn't loving towards him, so I felt this so much cause I love my husband, and I know what it was like for him to grow up without him, based off the stories he and his family have told me. I'm so proud of him for being able to accomplish so much as a man, son, brother, and father without him. He loves our daughter unconditionally and it breaks my heart that he never had that with his dad, but he only focuses on being there for our daughter and not making the same mistakes his dad did
Raised by mom after parents divorced . Not easy , cause I was a Daddy's girl and the hardest thing was understanding that he doesn't want to see me anymore and he's started a new life with someone else..
Anyone else now finding that they struggle as a parent because of the absence of their own father? Seeing my boys upset by anything triggers something in me mentally. I see myself in them, and I hate it. I always told myself I’d be the father I never had, I never thought his absence would have a negative effect on how I deal with my own kids.

My dad busted his ass to take care of me working 2 jobs and the weekends, I barely saw him when I was little because of that but I understood. My mom on the other hand was abusive in every way, she literally hated me and I was her only child my siblings were miscarriages or stillbirths and I’m the oldest. She made sure I knew I killed all my siblings just by being born alive! So shout out to my daddy, I’m 43 now and he’s got a terminal illness and I live with him because I’m disabled myself. My mom lives on the other side of the house because my dad’s heart too big to kick her out, me and him live on the other end and we take care of each other. My daddy taught me things my mom never could and never cared to. I love you daddy!❤️

It's true tho. Growing up as a boy is hard with no male role model. My brother was the only one I had to look up to my whole childhood and even now. Having a father figure is just different than what a mom can do.

Yeah, I never had a dad, nor a mom. I grew up alone. I had siblings but I was pushed away. That was all after my grandmother died. I can relate only to my gm. She was our anchor.
I mean I had my Dad growing up but I feel like I didn't have a good relationship with him at all because of certain things going on in his life while I was growing up that caused him to not show any love or care and only strict discipline...... Is it bad that I actually look forward to the day when he's jealous of my success?? I just want him to one day realize I ain't a total screw up and that it is possible to get somewhere in life without following his path. 🤷♂️

That was deep and it's a shame that a lot of kids have to grow up like that and the kids that grow up without their dad that don't come around but every now and then they have a right to feel the way they feel about themand it is true that the ones that grow up without their dad that end up becoming successful either a ball player or a musician or some kind then all of a sudden the dad wants back into their life but yet the only reason is because of the money you didn't want to have nothing to do with them when they were young and if the person didn't have money the father wouldn't have nothing to do with him when they got older and you're right it is a cycle and it's because of nine times out of ten his father was raised the same way
I disagree with you to certain point single parents (moms wise) have strength but not the strength that will make a man outta they son..... Joyner’s words hit me hard as fuck bkuz my pops was a drug addict and I watched the drugs kill him slowly ... I was better off without him but I still love him bkuz he help create me ... I was with my pops for six years and he was in and out jail and he let the drugs control him more then help me become better but watching him battle that monster, made me wanna be better then him....
I’m 16 and a couple months ago was the first time I actually lived with my dad and I barely saw him and I have really bad anger issues from things that happened in the past with him and I still don’t have a good relationship with him 🤷🏽♀️
