Looks good! I haven't played Blitz since I got my VR headset so I'm holding off on Tobruk for now, but great to see you guys are still putting in work and improving the sim where it needs it. Looking forward to joining you guys in the sky one day!
Does not work at all for me. I did everthing as shown in the video however it does not seem to save anything to the game files at all. Still have to set up controls the "old" way ingame.
It would be more useful if it also manages the different contol id. For example if i change the usb port Windows change the contol id and i loose all mappings. I have to go to a notepad editor and create a copy replacing the id with the new one.
I want to play with my joystick, I need to play with my joystick, I go to "joystick wizard"(in this case, a true oxymoron) and it says that I can play with my joystick, it accepts all inputs, recognizes every input from my joystick. I close the "joystick wizard" and start the sim. It tells me to select a single/multi/quick/etc etc. I do this. The mission starts, anticipation of joy is palpable, you start to trim it out and realize it's not trimming out... no joy. You think oh well I'll fix that in a few minutes so you do a gun check... no joy. And in the minutes that follow...no joy no joy no joy on essentially everything. There is no joy in mudville, the mighty Sturmovik has struck out. Effing ridiculous.
Reading a few comments about issues with the Wizard. I had a few too but was able to work around/fix these. I have Windows 11 too and the game works fine. I’m using a X52 Pro HOTAS, and the drivers not been updated since 2017! Game worked fine on windows 10, reinstalled since windows 11 update and didn’t it didn’t work. Did a brief Google search and sorted the issue(s). Folk experiencing issues may benefit from doing the same depending on your own controller. Ultimately to fix my issue (yours may be different), I reinstalled the latest driver but prior to this right clicked on the driver .exe file and clicked properties. I went to Compatability and selected the option to run in a previous version of windows. It didn’t offer windows 10 so I selected windows 8. I then reinstalled the driver. Following this I had no issues running the Wizard or setting up controls in game. If this helps anyone then great, if not may be google work around for your own controller.
Greetings. Although I follow the recipe in your video, it is not successful. The choices I make with the Logitech G940 Flight System are not saved when the procedure is complete. If there are other things I need to do, please specify them. Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello, tell me please, well, I'm already tortured - how to do what I would do on external views with a mouse and not TrackIr ?! It's so annoying that when you turn on the appearance, inspection, TrackIr works, and I'm used to it, as in many other projects - with the mouse !!! You are welcome! Translation I apologize via google
I don't know if this is just me or its a known issue Everytime I try and open the profiler it opens towards the bottom of my monitor cutting off the bottom of the ui so I can't select next ... I've tried moving it and changing to windowrd in compatibility settings But it just snaps to the same view Ive all but given and the in game axis calibration is hopeless Any help would be appreciated.
Why is it not possible to create a Setup for Hotas etc. like in War Thunder and DCS? I do the Joystick Wizard, and it show that is all complete and than i go to play and start a Single Mission nothing works.. absolutly nothing, and i use Warthunder Sim Mode and DCS, there its all ok, but my X52pro can only use some options, configured in the ingame setup mode, and the rest from Keyboard? thats really poor, IL2 looks good but the Navigation for the Input is horrible. :/
The joystick wizard no longer works after i updated to windows 11 which means the game is no longer working..they should have a warning about not being able to use a joystick before buying!
Look into the thrustmaster T.16000M together with the throttle - the throttle will add lot of functionality and buttons which come really handy, has also handy lever for rudder input.
If you have win 11 forget it, i've got a Logitech 3D Extreme Pro which worked fine with win 10 and joystick wizard but i upgraded to win 11 and it dont work no more
I'm curious whether you're open to feedback about the design of this tool. It's very useful, but could be even better given a little more functionality.
That's great! could you add zoom axis? If all this work I will finaly start playing! I love what I see from the game, I'm a real ww2 aviation nerd and fingers crossed this will do the trick! :)
I tried for ages to get the zoom to work like it does in IL2 Great Battles. In the end the solution was to edit the Configuration ini file. There's a section called CORE, and you add a line at the bottom ZoomSpeed=1 then define zoom in/out keys in the game. The biggest problem was finding the right cong file. The one in the game directory did nothing! In the end the one that worked for me was in Documents/1C Softclub. Works perfect now for me. There's also bits of info on this on forum, but finding the configuration file was biggest problem as it wasn't clear at first. Hope this helps you out.
@William Burns Hello William, thank you for your reply. From sounds of it I loved some of the projects you were connected with, so thanks for your efforts and work there. With respect, I think you may of jumped the gun with regard to my comment previously though. I was just explaining a method I had found to work to get the zoom function within the game as close as possible to how I have it in the later and in my opinion better title for what I want - Battle of Stalingrad, so that the guy could get it to work for him if he wishes. I have no connection to the game otherwise except for owning a copy. It was not to be taken as a whole hearted endorsement of CoD Blitz a sim i've deleted from my drive because try as I might no matter how many guides I tried, I could not use the majority of my Hotas to any satisfactory degree either. What was equally frustrating in a way was you could see shades of what it could of been if the issues could of been resolved, which is why I persevered numerous times. Something I commented on in my Steam review. The new joystick set up wizard too doesn't address the issues I have with my Hotas sadly. To be balanced though. The game does seem to have a passionate hardcore following and numerous people enjoy the multiplayer aspect of the Tobruk expansion. The Team Fusion guys from what i've seen are trying to provide the best they can for this subset of players and seem talented at doing so. Whether they can do so on the framework you'd know better than I i'd guess. Best Wishes Ryan S W
@@kisschicken once the wizard is done it creates a file called confuser in the same location as the wizard. You then need to go to options, controls and click on load and select the confuser file.
@@farkasmaganyos Hey im gald it worked for you. One more thing you can do is rename the confuser file to something else and once you have set it up how u want it, right click the confuser file, properties and then check the box read only. It stops the file from being written over so you can only view it but not change it. When i binded my joystick and then exited the game and came back to play later my confuser was reset. This will stop that and keep ur binds permanently, now every time you load up your game just reload the confuser in the control settings of the game. If u wanna remap be sure to change back to read and write and repeat process. hope this helps, I spent hours figuring out how to get it working.
So why does my joystick work with no issues in CloD, but not in Blitz? This utility didn't help either. I'm sorry but the fact that it can't even see a controller in the program that you can pick is nothing but lazy coding. Even if win 10 reorders the usb ports, the game should still be able to scan the ports and allow you to pick the controller. Instead, nothing shows up. And yeah, I've seen all the recommended BS you have to go through on the forum topics . You guys explain it away with "well other people have that controller and it works" instead of fixing the problem. Or you try to lay the blame on the end user for not trying all the different methods THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE. Did it ever occur to you that you are losing sales by taking this attitude? I know that even once I get my joystick working, this has killed an interest in spending money on the Tobruk expansion. I guess that doesn't matter to you guys either. Funny how this is the ONLY game that has this problem, including my other flight sims. Yet you blame it all on Win10 or the end user. Way to develop good customer relationship there. I even have a couple old flight sims from the XP era that have been patched to work under Win 10, and they don't have this problem.
Thanks for your very helpful video. What is the name of the file that the joystick settings are saved. I assume it is saved in the main game file. Do you have to load this profile once you start the game?
If you're having the same problem I had there's a fix under a pinned Cliffs of Dover steam discussion called "JOYSTICK PROBLEM FIXED" by user amylander. I would bind controls in the wizard and then once in game it was as if the joystick wasn't plugged in. Turns out the game only looks at a limited number of USB devices, so if you're like me and have many peripherals plugged in it may pickup useless things like microphones, webcams, etc and miss out on the joystick. That steam discussion post explains a patch you can download that allows you to specify the order the game checks devices. I was able to set my joystick, throttle, and rudder peddles as the first 3 and they're all working now.
yup.. this is why i like arcade games. up, down, left right, throttle up, throttle down, aim, shoot guess i'll have to watch other people playing these games
I like this game a lot, and Team Fusion .. i believe make a good Job, its not so easy to fix all but in the Future i hope i can better understand how to use the commands with a Hotas.. we will see ;)
REALLY hope this works. I'll try it for Cliffs and if it does i'll finally purchase Tobruk. I'd rather rub cat-shit in my hair then map another HOTAS for an IL2 sim.
@William Burns whilst everyone has the right to their own opinion, to say the sim doesn't work for any hotas is clearly not correct, unless thousands of players have become incredibly proficient using a keyboard and mouse, including our team and community testers. And have decided not to inform us of same... We are constantly working on the sim and committed to improving the customer experience. Multiple patches since release attest to that commitment. Given your stated history with bug checking, and that you are clearly not happy with the product, I am confident your would have made your mind up well within the 2 hour mark that the sim wasn't a good fit for you, and that's ok. Wish your all the best.
Hey are you listening to me friend? Once again, this wizard does not create one or more "confuser.ini.wizard_backup files" with the Logitech G940 Flight System, although I have selected all the controls one by one. Please consider this issue and solve it in next update. I wish you good work. Best regards.
Hi Isaac. Depends if you have auto update selected in Steam. If not then you manually do it. On loading if you see version 5.011 on the bottom right, you are good to go.
Sorry young man. My generation may have made the computer, but none of us really understand it or how it works. why is ir not simply plug and play? I dont know where the wizard exists or how to find it. Regards frustrated old guy.
Hi Sir Hugh, the Joystick Wizard is in you game folder. your drive\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz. Sitting right about your launcher64.exe. Hope that helps.
@@TeamFusionMod write that in the description of the video please.(location of the wizard) and I still have problems with my titanwolf stick. The stick get recognized by the wizard but not the game. A user tried to help me(he had maybe the same problem) but my Il2Tobruk dont recognize the stick. Although its a modern and expensive high end stick. Please solve the problem.
Waste of money. Its a damn shame. Game is beautiful and the action is good. Good Ai fights..... But it will not program. The Wizard is a disaster. Too bad
So the games a waste of money because the wizard doesn’t work? Can you just program the controls in game? I was able to do this, but also fixed the set-up wizard issue when I realised there was a driver issue with windows 11 and the saitek x52 pro HOTAS. When I fixed this it all worked well for me. Not sure if we had the same problem(s) though.
