Timelapses instead of cuts is really good for viewing. Especially for someone like me that stumbles in here by random "you may like this" and like the concept, but jumps forward as the cutting makes that anyway. And then maybe a voice-over during those timelapses to show what's happening, like "the digging was a pain but needed and get sure no curves are less radius than xx".
The O gauge stuff thats available today is fabulous, and a garden railway is the perfect way to enjoy it, except in the Autumn, as I have found out with my G Scale and 16mm railway !
Great‼️👏👏👏 To start with your dog is the 🌟 star. I always dreamt of a garden railway as a kid, & seeing this has made me wonder.....what if???? Really looking forward to the next instalment Richard. Stay safe. Cheers John B
"not made of money" *looks at garden* hmmmm Love garden railways though I'm more a 16mm man. There's something so appealing about seeing a little live steam narrow gauge engine winding round a garden with a rake of slate wagons rattling behind
Beautifully done! Be prepared for a constant battle with the plants, animals and the influence of the weather. My layout lasted 15 years, I finally gave in being tired of getting the trains going again after winter. And those trees dripping resin or whatever it is called. I had several in my garden, it made the trains stop after short while. Even the track cleaning loco wasn't able to tackle that problem. So it takes some careful planning and there are plants and trees that definately will spoil the fun! Kind regards, Willem from Holland.
At last ! a garden railway video which shows exactly how to go about building a garden layout. a really excellent, informative, entertaining and well produced video, thank you . I can't wait for the next instalment - Paul
New Junction made me want a OO gauge layout (which I now have) because everything was explained so well and suddenly didn’t seem daunting. Here we go again!
That's a great video Richard, to me you have captured the idea of a garden railway, ie that's going around the established trees and shrubs instead of cutting them down and keeping the line straight, it's also good to build tunnels to go through high ground just like the real thing. It is certainly a railway as a part of the garden instead of just an outdoor layout, thank you for sharing this and I look forward to seeing your progress, take care, Paul.
Evening Richard. Hope your well and safe 😃 Love the dog lol 😂 Absolutely fantastic 👍🏻 So glad that your doing this from scratch with your RU-vid family 😆 I just didn't want this one to end 🤣 Can't wait for my bell 🔔 too ring for the next exciting episode 😆 Cheers Stevie 😎
I think that’s your best video! Really great viewing - can’t wait to watch the next instalment. I’m also incredibly jealous of your garden and the view you have!!! 👍👍👍
WOW!!! Richard you are going to have a lot of enjoyment from this railway, it is amazing and your new garden is fantastic, a great setting. All the best, Stephen
Hi Richard another great video mate the garden railway is looking great mate I look forward to see trains runing on it it is a big engineering job mate you could get lulu to dig the holes for you 😉😉 only kidding mate keep up the great work mate clive
Must admit I wasn't sure on your idea of building a garden railway to start with, but you've convinced me now this is going to be absolutely epic. I love it and its got some good length and a great a garden to run through. Keep up the good work Richard! Sean.
Great video Richard, thanks for sharing. I’ve heard the smart money is on you knocking gardeners world off the Friday night spot with that opening sequence! On a more serious note brilliant video, looks like a great project and interesting to see how you have to build the railway around the current landscape, just like the real thing! All the best and looking forward to your next update, Paul
Very well presented as always Richard. You show it as it is, which gives confidence to beginners - as you are a beginner at this gauge and outside location. Really looking forward to the progress.
Glad you got a four legged helper, ...I had a Westie helping me with some exterior paintwork last week she helped by laying under the ladder catching any paint that I dripped 🌈😷🇬🇧
Ok 31 seconds in and the ground force music is ruddy amazing. The rest of this video could be black screen and I'd still like it. Perfect just perfect 😂🤣😂
Nice trim garden! How frustrating not being able to get your kit to get a wiggle on! I think a lot of us out in lock down land want to get to the shops when they open again. Mail order, yeah but I like to see what I am buying! May your permanent way continue soonest. Great video! ; )
So happy its finally happening. Great video. You almost had me with the tender if the A4 I kept thinking it's the br green flying scotsman with smoke deflectors
A lot of work and some real skill demonstrated - will watch progress with interest (and envy!), particularly when we get to the wiring. Hope you can get some more track for next time. Thanks for sharing.
@@NewJunction she sure is! I bet she'll be fascinated by the trains for a while and follow them around until she gets used to this new moving thing in her domain...haha! :-)
Been tempted to do an O Gauge layout in my garden as well (and possible radio/battery modding the locos as well), though I keep looking at 5" live steam locos and seeing if I could squeeze one of those in. Very good video and will be watching more for ideas for whatever I end up putting in my garden! ~James
Brilliant video as ever richard. Richard Titchmarsh is that you 😉😂. Its really coming along well, look forward to seeing the finished product Stay safe James
