New Kubota L2501 And Transitioning From The Kubota BX25D 

Hey Both Trac, I bought my L2501 new last year. I opted for the ag tires and had them filled with fluid. I had wheel spacers installed. I had the wheels set at their widest point. If you haven't guessed, the tractor spends most of its time on steep hills. I opted for the ssqa with the loader and the Land Pride quick hitch for the 3 point. I bought a used 5 ft heavy duty Land pride box blade. I am very pleased with my tractor and I feel that it does every thing that I wanted when I ordered it. Very pleased with my dealer too. I went with the gear drive transmission as I grew up grinding gears and I figured that for the extra $1000 for the hydro trans, I would just keep grinding gears. Gary Fox Iowa

Hey Both Trac, We bought our L2501 back in Dec. of '17. I now have 85 hours on it as of June in '19. Absolutely love it. Our farm is 224 acres with 118 tillable, the rest being pasture for the beef cow herd. The pasture is divided into two sections with the eastern part being a very beautiful hardwood timber with a big spring originating on our property. The spring has 7 tributaries, if you will, that make it into the powerful stream that it is. We bought the Kubota to help with working in the big timber cleaning up storm damage and dead or downed trees. I have several other tractors, most being too big to maneuver in the tight places between trees that I need to get into and out of. I thought that the 25 hp might be a bit lacking but I find myself going for the Kubota instead of one of the other tractors all the time. It is an easy started, very easy on fuel, and a lot of fun to operate. It does ride rougher than the other tractors, but I have the rear tires weighted with fluid and that does take away from the smoothness of the ride but a huge safety issue for me. Worth the tradeoff, in my opinion. I now own 3 Kubota. I have a RTV900 diesel side by side, a GR2120 diesel lawn mower ( it will mow circles around my Deere 345, and I have always been a Deere guy so that is saying something), and of course the L2501. The L2501 is a gear drive with the fel. I have a 72 in. bucket on the front with the skid steer style quick attach and the bucket level indicator. It has the ag tires with the factory installed wheel spacers and the wheel dish set to the widest spacing and again, the fluid in the tires for ballast. I got the Land Pride quick hitch and a used heavy duty 5 ft box blade. Also Land Pride. Very happy with our Kubota. I hope yours is as trouble free as ours has been and that you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. It has been a very nice addition to my operation and stands out nicely in the sea of green around here. Good purchase. I prefer the Kubota L2501. I wish I had more information on how people are increasing the RPM and getting close to 30hp. I have the same concern with the cable setup for the PTO.

I have the same tractor and have been happy with it , but if you load anything heavy with the loader be sure to attach an implement on the rear haha but I'm sure you already know . All around very good tractor

Did you have this posted, yesterday? Not sure but thought I saw this (smile). I must have not hit the comment button or something. Nice tractor and looks nice and beefy. Did you get any different implements since you have a larger tractor? You mentioned you had a bad right knee and I too have a knee that does not like to be bent for long periods of time without letting you feel its pain (smile). I literally had to add a cushion to lift me a bit higher that allows me to stretch the leg a bit more. I look forward to your modifications to this tractor. Congrats on your acquisition of 20 acres. Why would anybody give this a thumbs down?! You explained this machine very well. Nice job. I'm deciding between the B2650 and the L2501, putting in food plots and clearing out paths in my Woods. what are your thoughts?

Hi, What replacement seat did you buy? I'm taking delivery of a 2501 in the next few weeks and haven't been able to find a aftermarket seat with armrests that will bolt right on. I definitely want armrests though. Thanks, Tim

I like the L series but I don't like the brakes above the shuttle puddle. There is no way you can use the brakes for turning because you can't press both the shuttle puddle and the brake at the same time. Brakes on the right are good if you have a gear drive. Kubota should move the brakes to the left side when the tractor is hydro stat. I have hills and I use the brakes to help keep the front end up the hill and with both brake and hydro stat peddle on the same side both can not be used. For this reason I have not purchased a Kubota and I think the L2501 would be an excellent tractor if they would move the brakes to the left side with a hydro stat.

My nephew has the l2501 he said the same thing you need to push the clutch in to start it just curious as to why? I have the l3301 and there is no need for that

Hey Both Trac, Gary from Iowa. I have my channel up and running now. Stop on over some time and check it out. Only been up for 2 days. I have the L2501 with the ag tires and gear drive. I had my dealer, Gary's Tractors (no relation or connection otherwise) in Waukon,Iowa, set the wheels to their widest spacing and add the factory wheel spacers and then fill the tires with fluid. We then had to go to the 72 in bucket as the rear wheels were now wider than the standard 66 in bucket that comes with the LA 525 loader. Love my set up. Does a really great job for me. As always, love your videos. You do a really good job with them. Thanks for sharing.

How can you use the individual brake pedals for turning when that would take your foot off the hydrostatic control so the tractor would stop moving and no turning would take place?

I bought the LP QH15 for my 2501 and to be honest I cannot believe I waited so long...... I have all one brand implements(11 of them) so I switch ALOT the quick hitch makes it really easy and fast... sadly if your using anything PTO your still getting off machine....

If you don’t mind me asking? What did you pay for the L2501 with the loader? I’m in Texas and just went to my kubota dealership. I got quoted $22,183
