I've got a great wife who puts up with my non-sense & usually posts my bail without complaint. She's my heart & soul. I promise the good Lord above that when she goes, I'm right behind her! I like Koeler engines. Much better than B&S engines. I too use non-ethanol gasoline in all my 2 and 4 stroke engines. Also as you did, I shut the gasoline shut-off valve off and allow the engine to use all the gasoline in the lines which ensures there's no gas in the lines and the carb is emptied. Hope you're finally getting some comfortably warmer weather. It's finally been getting in the 60's here. I'm down in NC but it does get quite cold. It's been in the 40's and 30's but the 60's is where it needs to be (smile). Enjoyed a full-watch. Thanks for the video. Stay safe and will see you on the next one. 👍🏽🙂

Hey there Houndsman! Good to hear from you again!....I too have been spending quite a bit of time lately in North Carolina. Looks like we're going to move down there in the next year. Yeah, something funny about that Kohler. Emptying the lines seems to be the key with this one. I'm disappointed that there's no priming bulb. Thanks for watching, commenting and supporting!!

Problem with those knobs on sub compacts, (Regardless of make and model) is that they have internal leaks in hydraulic fluid, meaning if you install your wheel spinner at 5 oclock when wheels are straight, after a while you may notice it is now at 11 oclock when wheels are straight, they are better on electric power steering rather than hydraulic.

I sent comments 8 months ago. On May 16, 2020, I ordered both the “Pat’s” and Mark’s stabilizers. The “Pat’s” showed up immediately whereas, as you warned, The stabilizers arrived this past Monday 02/22/21. They were worth the wait. You may have mentioned this in your video. One of the things I did not realize or taken into consideration is the fact that “Pat’s” devices extend your lift bars some 4”. I had a Ford 1220 previously (small sub compact, 13 hp @ PTO) I had to cut down a couple driveshafts for the brush hog and 4’ rototiller. These drive shafts were then too short when I went to the L3301 Kubota. I ended up selling both those implements. The extra 4” turned out to be a good excuse to move up to larger implements. Also, the stabilizers cost $250, not a game changer.

Question John. Do the bolts into the uni-strut have to be stainless or is that your choice?

I got 90s for my valve. The hoses going straight up was a recipe for disaster and looks ridiculous. The other issue with that kit is the crappy joystick. Hey buddy I appreciate the shout out! I have been thinking about getting the hero 8 black as a second camera either that or a second hero 7 black. The 8 has some features I really like tho but it’s a bit more money as of right now. I love your camera setup with the external battery holder it looks like a professial rig for sure! You should see the junk I’m working with 😂 lol. My tri-pod is all bent to hell, camera is all beat up too but I have an external power brick like you have that I got from Walmart and it’s really helped a lot with making my videos longer. One question I do have tho is what amperage are your USB outputs in your external charger? I got the high output when I charged mine I wanna say it’s 3amp and the issue I have is when it’s a warmer day and my hero 7 is connected to it the camera will easily overheat as I think the charger is just charging it way too fast while it’s recording in 4k.. if I recorded in 1440p this prolly wouldn’t be an issue tho but I like to do all my videos in 4k and have had a real tough time finding a camera that can do 4k consistently with out overheating by getting over worked.. the hero 8 I hear is a lot better tho.. be curious to hear what you say.
@BotaTrac
@BotaTrac 3 года назад
Ha, ha, ha, ha.......there isn't a tractor content maker out there who hasn't run over a couple of tripods 😝 from time-to-time....wait until after Xmas - the price will drop on the Hero 8 Black now that the 9 is out. Also, you are completely correct. The power banks use 2.1amp outputs and I only use OEM batteries in the camera's. (They get pretty warm but no shut-down's yet). I cheaped out and got the low output bricks and that probably worked to my advantage. I only record in 4K and when I turn on the camera, I don't turn it off until I'm done so it's not unusual (for me anyway) to have 90 minutes of footage for 15 minutes of video. The whole reason I sprung for the 8's was because my gear was dying and when I looked online - everyone was raving about how much better they were over the previous models. Hope this helps. As always, thanks A LOT for the comment and the support!

Great video I just installed 3 Rd function value on my mx4800. Have grappler coming in tomorrow. Was thinking of adding hydraulic top link in the back. I don't have any rear remote. Here's my idea to utilize the 3rd function value. Change hose ends that goes to the front with quick connectors. build a quick connect bracket in the rear. Have top link cylinder plumbed to bracket, with quick connectors. So I can simply disconnect hoses from front to rear and use function value as you demonstrated. Your thoughts much appreciated. Thanks Darryl

Absolutely YES! That works too and saves on some $$. Hydraulics can be intimidating and confusing to some. They were to me when I first thought about installing rear remotes and a 3rd function kit. Just note Teflon tape and paste is not a sealant it is a tread Lubricant, and you do not use it on flare fittings. Its for use on tapered pipe threads and Lubricants the threads allowing the male / female metal fittings to fully tighten with out galling. Possibly the Teflon paste you used actually Lubricanted the nut threads on the flare fitting which may have been already over tighten and galled, this could have allow a higher flare compression force thus stopping the leakage. Just my opinion 36 year instrument mechanic.
@BotaTrac
@BotaTrac 3 года назад
I'm sure that you're 10,000% right. I'm not a mechanic. I am a plumbers son. We do use Teflon paste on black iron pipe carrying natural gas so I had it on hand. The situation I have is that I have 2 Kubota tractors. for the longest time - I would develop leaks at the flare fittings. I thought that because they were already tighter than I was comfortable with, maybe they were just Chinese quality crap (???). Of all the thread paste I had on hand - the teflon paste was successful in stopping the leaks without over tightening them. I do use it sparingly and you have offered the best explanation so far, (.....And I have received my fair share of criticism for using teflon on those flare fittings) the paste lubricates the threads and prevents distortion to the thread surfaces due to excessive heat or friction during the tightening process. Very informative! Much appreciated. Couple questions: How do you find the correct wire from the ignition that gets hot (12v +) when turned on? And when you find it, do you just strip it back a bit and solder your wire that goes to the switch onto that one? (And then of course tape it up and protect it.) Thanks again!
@BotaTrac
@BotaTrac 3 года назад
Hi Matt and thanks for watching and your comment! I don't know what your working on or what you're looking to do. You have to be very careful when cutting into the wire harness....you may void your warranty, or worse. My neighbor was replacing his car stereo and speakers on his Audi and he (accidentally) cut into a fiber optic wire - $960.00 to get his car fixed. I saw the fiber optic cable. it was brown and orange just like the speaker wire was supposed to be. I probably would have made the same mistake if I didn't know. That said, if you're sure about what your doing, I would start with a 12V electrical tester with a fine point on the end and try to find a wire that isn't "hot" when the ignition is off and is "hot" when the key is in the "on" position. I would also take the time to look over your fuse block for an "accessory" circuit with a 5-10amp fuse. Hope this helps. Good luck and if your not sure - try to find some help at the dealer or accessory store.

I used one of my loader tractors to lift the back end of my GR2120 this summer when I ran the belt off. Took a couple tries to get the right height. I will try this next time. I bet that will work very well. Never thought of that. I learn something from every one of your videos.

WOW! Thanks! That means a lot to me. I'm too beat up to crawl around on the ground - seems I'm always expanding my collection of metallic body joints (shoulders, knees, a hip). I can remember my father saying "work smarter, not harder." now I know why. Thanks for your comment and for watching my video! You're continued support means a lot to me!

Hey Both Trac, how did that feel the 1st time that you backed of that trailer? Those are the kind of moments that give you pucker power. Bummer about the plow. Love the out takes. That never happens to me,Lol. Your video quality is amazing. You have a great camera. I use a Go Pro Hero 7 Black and Barb's I phone for my channel. Advantages and disadvantages to each, but it's nice to have options.

Yessir! It'll wake you up if you're not paying attention - that's for sure. After you do it a couple of times it's no big deal. The key is to be on level ground and have the tractor square to the trailer when you begin to climb. It could go to shit real quick it I tried to crab it on the trailer or the truck/trailer started to roll. Also, thanks about the videos. I have upgraded to the GoPro Hero 8 Black also. If I don't use that - I'll a 4K DSLR camera. Check out Biff's Equipment at ru-vid.com/show-UCOp1iElsFqVnWKVZc_A04rw. He got me into the GoPro. The out takes were my wife's idea. She could care less about tractors, but when she sees the raw videos and the out takes - she suggested that I add them in. They make her laugh! Thanks for your comment and for watching my video! Stay well!!

@@BotaTrac , you are like me. I just do the channel for a hobby and really enjoy it. I love watching other channels and have had a lot of fun with it. My channel is growing. I get a lot of views but not so many subscribers. The ones that I do get are pretty loyal to the channel. Thanks for the response and stay warm and well, not to mention safe. On a side note, you must be prior military as well. It would sure appear so.

I like to condition my work boots too. I usually don't wear boots over my shoes as I like to travel light. One of the videos that I have done for my channel is "Tractor Talk With Gary's Best Buys". I show a pair of boots that I got from Cabellas. They have a unique fastening system that uses wire instead of laces. They fasten with a ratcheting system where you simply push in on the knob and turn to tighten and pull out to release. I got them when I was a volunteer firefighter for the speed and ease. Cabellas no longer carries these but Red Wing makes a shoe that has nearly the same fastening apparatus but it is a much heavier shoe and nearly double the price. Thanks for sharing Both Trac. Shoes are a very important part of the garb and a very poor place to be cutting corners.

I've been looking for exactly this comparison. I wonder if I should buy the grapple first, then my wife will say I HAVE to get the tractor for it, right? :)
