New Lincoln Corsair Review // Heading in the right direction

The all-new Lincoln Corsair replaces the Lincoln MKC compact crossover. This new Lincoln Corsair compact utility shares the same platform as the Ford Escape. this new Lincoln Corsair small SUV is powered by the same 2.0L Ecoboost engine used in the Ford Escape with 250hp. The Optional 2.3L engine has 280hp but the base engine is adequate for most buyers. Both use an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD in Canada. Lincoln is an iconic American luxury brand and by returning to proper names for its vehicles, brings back a romantic era of American motoring. The Lincoln Corsair compact utility has room for 5-passengers over two rows and is a larger vehicle than the MKC it replaces. The interior of the Lincoln Corsair is a major departure from the Ford cousin and has a level of materials and design that suites the rest of the Lincoln SUV family. The Infotainment system is the same as used by Ford, called the Sync3 system that is quick and seamless but lacks any differentiation from the Ford sibling. The dashboard is a 12.3-inch digital unit. The Lincoln Corsair small utility uses a passive spring suspension design but has active dampers for a smooth drive or sporty one depending on the driver's desire. The Corsair compact utility has the most engaging drive of the new Lincoln SUVs and is sporty and fun when asked.

I think car mfgs. make the lower door panels hard plastic for durability because they are basically kick-panels...if they were soft-touch, they would be damaged very quickly and easily by drivers feet during egress.

Mrs. Joy Falotico’s timing to become Lincoln’s head honcho appears to have been perfect. I’m certain that Cadillac’s R&D departments are losing sleep these days. They thought (Cadillac) that their competition was coming from Japan or German. They never would have expected a comeback from either Lincoln ....let alone the Korean’s! I think it is a brilliant product, at that price point. Thanks another well shot and edited (effects) video.

I bought a 2023 loaded Reserve (Collection III) and agree with many points in this older review. This is my first Lincoln and it's fantastic. Love the interior quality as well as exterior design - very attractive. Enjoyable to drive with the AWD, 2.0 Turbo, and 19 inch Michelins. Lincoln improved the Corsair starting in 2023 and this vehicle can hold its own against the rest of the class. The Revel sound system is excellent. Totally comfortable American luxury SUV and very well executed by Ford.

I am seeing a lot of comments about the interior color so thought I may take a guess as to what Lincoln is doing here. First off, this blue is weird looking, but its different - which I think is what Lincoln is trying to do. The blue in the Navigator looks much better, this looks like some bright, old-time blue. That said, they still offer black, white and tan interior colors, but the blue I think is supposed to be a selling point when it comes to customization. Some people may like it, car taste is subjective.

Kevin Wright this is so not true. GM is building great quality products with great build materials and Cadillac interiors certainly has minimalistic cost cutting in comparison to Acura, Lincoln, and Infiniti. The interior of the Cadillac XT4 is covered in luxurious feeling materials and there are no hard touch plastic spots like at the top of the rear doors which is what’s found in the Lincoln Corsair. What’s mind blowing is the fact the Corsair is even more expensive than the Cadillac. You can’t generalize the big 3 to be one in the same especially when it’s really only 2 that occupy the segment and only 1 (Lincoln) that’s guilty as charged.
@kevinW826
@kevinW826 4 года назад
mybro727 as I said, the big 3 could build a reliable car, but they don’t. GM, Ford, FCA. I’m not picking a specific brand and say it’s good. It’s ALL crap! I don’t care if Cadillac builds a luxurious interior, it’s still built to a budget and it will break down a day after the 3 year warranty expires. I don’t care if it has soft touch materials. My 2015 Mazda3 hatchback has soft touch materials that are probably from the same company as Cadillac. The XT4 is an over priced, underpowered 80% parts from China, assembled by some guy who is being overpaid to put a screw into the car in the states, and doesn’t care about pried in build quality, only when is happy hour, versus a Japanese company that is proud of their work and is known for build quality and reliability. The CX5 is the better quality product, plus you get the navigation included in the trims, versus Cadillac nickel and diving you to death just to get the navigation. $2000 just for navigation? Screw that.

@@gregghanson6095 All I am saying is a 4 cylinder isn't as refined or smooth for any car that costs over 30k.

To say Lincoln is "trying" is a ridiculous statement. They are now competitive with everybody in their categories. Your review is very slanted towards your own personal preferences with an obvious distain for Ford in general. What is "old America Luxury" compared to old/new German luxury and Toyota cheap to Lexus luxury? They all use plastic everywhere they can. and on and on....
