This game you can rly see when LS meants all those times when he said 'theme of the comp'. I doubt he would ever draft Jhin except that they had Karthus on top. And you can clearly see how it works. They press Karthus ult and Jhin ult... push them out take free baron [sadly then mechanically c9 missplayed and thrown their chance but you get the idea]

There was honestly just a lot of miscommunication this game. You could see that Summit was on a different page from the rest of the team in a lot of these fights, like at TL's soul point or the second Baron. Slight mechanical misplays from the bot as well, just a sign of a team that needs more practice than they currently have.

I don't like the karthus or rakan pick. But if they must have karthus then we need a bigger front line for the Irella and aatrox. I think Leona support would be way better than the rakan.

@@bane4743 True, outside of Leona being banned. I think Karthus worked well this game, especially considering Karthus isn't exactly a Blaber champ (that clear speed was good tho). Rakan and Jhin is a great lane pair, and they needed engage/CC, so I can understand why they leaned towards that pick. And, in all honesty, if they didn't int bot early for no particular reason or threw the 2nd Baron it would've been fine, but I'll still agree Rakan isn't perfect. I just can't think of a pick that was up for C9 that they could've taken over Rakan that would've worked in their comp's favor.. Nautilus maybe?

Karthus and Rakan can't play the game into Jinx/Thresh (Rakan can't engage without getting blocked and murdered, Karthus can't ever reach the backline), Aatrox was random as fuck as well. Also Liandrys for Karthus, when your task is to shit on the backline alongside Jhin? Just go fucking Ludens or NH.

@@reve_x44 Locket and lifesteal (jinx, corki, gragas passive, and veigo) mitigates the impact of karthus/jhin. I recall seeing multiple times that game where karthus ult wasn't that impactful due to locket. Also, rakan is not the pick into thresh imo, can get his engage cancelled, maybe Naut is better?

8:12 Fudge missed the ulti flash, if he hits that i think c9 wins the game with baron buff But this is just the most crucial mistake that c9 made throughout the game, c9 played the game so terribly and they still managed to keep the game close

C9 has had so much less practice time than the other teams in the league yet they are able to push the team that was pretty much universally called the best team to the limit. C9 is no joke and they're only at the lowest level of their power. They're only gonna get stronger and stronger

There are two ways the team might go with regard to Blabber after this game. Either LS says no more champs like that FOR BLABBER again, and drafts in a way that either prioritizes his champ pool or accounting for Blabber more, OR, Blabber gotta improve on these non-going all in champs so he’s doesn’t become the weakest link on the team. Praying that LS goes with the second strat. I want Blabber to be good at more champs.

@@vonwaq yeah for sure! Part of me wants LS to draft (and Blabber to play) these non going in champs against supposedly “weaker” opponents to let him practice and get comfy ON STAGE. Pulling it out against TL is super risky. I like their confidence though.

That mistake from berserker that cost them the soul was unfortunate, however overall a great game. I also wonder if seraphine (maybe also renata in the future) instead of rakan could have improved the draft

@@xBox360BENUTZER I think the point of the draft is long range/non comittal engage. Jhin and karthus ult from 3 screens away to take enemies low then do objectives since enemy cant run in or aatrox and irelioa clean up. Seraphine would play with that as she can engage from long range with R and if it misses then it doesnt matter because shes not next to them liek rakan. It also means that if they get a good flank with aatrox or irelia than seraphine can extend ult range using them to hit backline and keep the carries topped up on HP.

Spectator bug, thresh is in the wrong place during the flay animation, but you can see the particle effect moving on the floor for where his flay actually is.

Stick with the Seraphine and GP that LS wanted and it would have been way better. Maybe the players didn't feel comfortable so they went with Rakan and Atrox. But LS def wanted Seraphine and GP with those hovers. Try funneling into an objective with Karthus ult layered with Jhin/GP and a Seraphine ult coming over top.

Both picks make sense here, either you lay even more artillery onto this, or you get something to lock people even harder in place, and C9 went with the latter here Now if we had a Xerath in the game, that would have been hilarious to see, be it support or mid, and then pick a toplaner like sion that can literally stand in 5 ppl and still not die, i think it would be the ultimate version of this draft

I think at that point, it just depends on what summit is currently more comfortable with. Both picks have merit, but change how you play the game drastically. I think Grag hard countered c9s comp, so maybe GP would have been better and just let GP/Irelia side lane. You can easily hold with 4v5 with GP while Irelia splits. Still, they had a few chances to win. When they pick Eyla after baron, they just go dragon and have a higher chance of winning. After they forced into a bad angle like they did, it felt doomed.

They were doing a style where they focus on playing through the top half of the map. Irelia and Aatrox dive in with Karthus ult and Jhin backing them up. It's not an ADC focus draft like the last 2 games.
