This is a deeper demonstration of the wave crossfade/splice technique I showed in an earlier video, including using a wavetable oscillator near the end to get even more complex harmonics. The presentation was done live at a New Mexico Control Voltage online meetup in September 2020, with light editing at the end.

i see a couple of potential other possibilities that arise: a) the crossfading modulation wave is another crossfaded modulated wave b) potential feedback options in a i.e. the second crossfader uses a mult of the first splice output as one of its crossfaded waves c) potential fm options as crossfading modulators or crossfaded waves

The original Horstronic Waveslicer (cheap on used market and can be DIY’d) is a cool way to do this, and you can do twice or stereo🙀

I think the point about window transforms sounding very buzzy was well put, and the crossfading seems much more manageable.

I was exchanging emails with Jon Sonnenberg about that, and he said he tends to follow the switch/mix with a non-resonant low pass filter to take the edge off.

Yes - you can use its waveform mixer to combine one of its own waveforms with an external oscillator (using one of the Mother's VCO waves to do the mix, or an second external VCO), or is free-agent VC Mix.

I'm afraid I don't have a 4ms VCA Matrix. I've talked a bit about how I use Marbles over on my Patreon channel (patreon.com/learningmodular); I'm sorry to say no dedicated videos are currently planned for it.

Can you not Convolve the two signals together by taking the FFT of both signals and use complex multiplication to create the data for input into the IFFT to create the wanted signal.

Yes - but not easily. That's a lot of computing power, and a lot of bands to get an accurate result.
