The fact that states think they can just keep passing laws/bans on things that have already been ruled as unconstitutional by SCOTUS is a huge huge problem. They need to be held accountable.

As a citizen in Albuquerque, this worries me. The crime and gang violence here is extremely high, and with this, it's only going to get worse.

30 Rounds isn't "high capacity." 30 Rounds is STANDARD capacity.

I live in Albuquerque, NM and this is absolutely ridiculous. The crime here is at an extremely high rate but we will never make laws to go after criminals. Only laws to go after people who already follow the law. Many sheriffs in the state have announced they don’t support this and will not enforce this if passed.

These magazine capacity limitations were first proposed in the initial drafts of the Jim Crow Era National Firearms Act of 1934. This is not about stopping crime, this is about the government ensuring that citizens are not capable of opposing the government imposing a monopoly on the use of force.

Colion, I was there (zoom) yesterday. Spoke up. It passes the senate committee, but as HB 101. They combined the bill as a semi auto ban and 9 mag limit. So basically, all guns. We *think* it’ll die in the judicial committee. But who knows. Scary times here in NM. Thank you so much for the video and the awareness. If this does pass, maybe we can take this to SCOTUS and stop these mag limits everywhere.

I live here, and I am worried. I am worried that this bill will make me a criminal, while those that are actually criminals wont obey this at all.

Once they started giving all the Illegals ID cards and then "forgetting" who were citizens and not citizens, the state turned from purpleish red to solid blue. Always still remember my 16th birthday when I *couldn't* get my drivers license because the DMV had closed down to "serve the immigrants"...

But the political climate there has become so terrible that I just cannot see subjecting myself to it.

He asked me yesterday why I believed it was so much nicer here, I simply replied "In California, you can't realistically buy a gun in any reasonable amount of time. In Ohio, you're encouraged to shoot the bad guys."

Everyone I know here in NM has already written their state representative and state senator telling them to oppose this incredibly stupid bill. On top of the magazine round limitation, the bill would give $1.5 million to law enforcement for costs associated with enforcing the law. So, the bill demands citizens pay for the state to infringe on Second Amendment rights.

I met a couple from New Mexico who are moving to the Gulf Coast of Alabama because New Mexico has become a horrible place to live and these two people have already moved from New York to New Mexico to get away from New York’s BS! I welcomed them to Lower Alabama and made plans to share some time with them for the future.

The best part is not only does this violate the US Constitution but also the New Mexico state constitution. NM Bill of Rights Section 2 Subsection 6 says that no law may interfere with the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, sports shooting, or any other legal application. It's incredibly broad on it's protection.

What is it going to take for the government to stop going after us regular citizens just trying to live and survive, what it is going to take for them to finally stand up and go after the criminals for once!

Tell the representative to have security carry only revolvers. She wants normal citizens to trust their safety to the police when she has armed security carrying whatever is most efficient.

As a New Mexican I'm completely against this. We are a border state with a huge crime problem. How is limiting the access of certain equipment to law abiding citizen stop criminals?

In June 28,2005 the supreme court ruled that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm. April 18,2022 police have no duty to protect the public, though often unsaid in police reform debates, numerous court precedents have established that cops aren't obligated to act in the interest of citizens ! Now's a good time to remind folks that SCOTUS has ruled in multiple cases that the police/Fed agencies have no duty to protect the public. Look at all the police cars they have written on them ( to serve and protect) while most people find those words reassuring however, those words are misleading in light of the supreme court rulings ! Though alarming, we simply have no affirmative right to police aid, even when a person, including a helpless child, faces imminent danger we are all responsible for our own personal safety whether we like it or not !! Protect our 2 Amendment right !!

As a citizen in occupied territory, most of these people who are pushing for this bill live in gated communities or have private security to protect them. Meanwhile the other 99.99% of the people from Carlsbad to Taos to Gallup to Tucumcari have and always had standard capacity magazines. To the Governor and her ilk, to hell with you and the horse that brought you.

Here in Illinois, Pritzker is already facing push-back on the unconstitutional HB 5471 from numerous counties and sheriffs that have come out and openly refused to enforce this law. Several groups are getting involved in filing a lawsuit in federal court against this unconstitutional law.

Here in Washington state a gun store sold "high capacity magazines" after the 10 round limit law was passed. Store was fined 15k by attorney general. These fools want us walking around with revolvers while the criminal who does not care about their law will carry as many rounds as they want.

I have been a a Pa. Public Shooting Range. The biggest impact was only 6 rounds were allowed in your magazine while on the shooting line.

For those that don't know,New Mexico is a gold star open carry state. 1 of only 2 in America with Alaska being the other. It is a direct violation of New Mexicos state constitution to create this law. No city or county can create a law that deprives the people of the state the right to own and open carry any firearm they chose. The variety and amount of crime in this state is out of control and is consistently getting worse. Our police departments are under staffed and overwhelmed. That means the first line of defense is the people and the second is law enforcement.

This is absolutely ridiculous. And the worst part about it, is that they don’t even talk about this at a time all of our residents aren’t able to normally watch the news. More people need to get involved in paying attention to the politics. My family has been residents of this state for 9 generations and stuff like this makes me want to leave this state. So many people here justify voting Democrat because they always have, simple as that. Or they just don't vote at all. They like guns but don't like politics, so they don't vote or see the connection. Seems like the Legislature wants to create felons of otherwise law abiding citizens. There is no grandfather provision in any of this. Thus far, the following 8 anti-gun Bills have been introduced to the NM Legislature. HB9- Making it a crime for the gun owner if a minor accesses a firearm and a felony for the gun owner if a minor harms someone with a gun. This one is particularly dangerous as there are no exceptions for sanctioned activities such as sporting events or hunting! HEARING SCHEDULED FOR 1 PM JAN 24TH - HOUSE CONSUMER & PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE HB50- Making it a felony to possess a gun with a capacity of more than 9 rounds, The number ‘9’ is very strategic rendering 99.9% of semi-automatic pistols and most semiauto rifles illegal to own. Doesn’t matter if you only have 8 rnd mags. IF the gun can accept a mag of more that 9, it is illegal. The sponsor of this bill, Rep. Patricia Roybal Caballero (D-ABQ) has publicly stated she will expect the police to ‘knock on doors’ to enforce. This is their mindest! Absolutely frightening. This would make it impossible for you to protect yourself in an urgent situation such as domestic violence or a threatening individual HB101- Making it a felony to possess a gun magazine with a capacity of more than ten rounds, classifying all semi-automatic guns as "assault weapons," and making it a felony to possess any semi-automatic guns. Did you catch that? All semiauto firearms would be ‘assault weapons’! SB 116 - SB0116.pdf - Making it a felony for an individual under 21 to purchase or possess a semi-automatic or automatic firearm. Additionally, an individual under 21 may not purchase or possess a standard capacity magazine with a capacity greater than 10. SB 44 - SB0044.pdf - Prohibiting the carrying of a firearm within 100 feet of a polling place during an election including early voting. SB 171 Prohibits the sale of automatic weapons.

New Mexico Governor's order takes effect immediately! It states “no person, other than a law enforcement officer or licensed security officer, shall possess a firearm … either openly or concealed."

Oregon already passed their magazine capacity law last year, the whole west coast is following suit unfortunately

I talked to a gun dealer, and I think this magazine ban is not about limited ammunitions. it is about stopping gun sale period. for example: if glock want to sell this gun in NM, the manufacturer have to create a new magazine to be included with this gun. all the current gun available (15 rounds, 12 rounds, 10 rounds... can no longer be sold in NM even though the gun itself is legal)

Governor Pritzker of Illinois says his legislation will save hundreds of lives,and naturally he has no way of knowing that it's just something he said to impress his staff and the media,but it's being challenged in federal court right now,so hopefully it will get struck down.

Make it make sense, cops get 30 round mags for their rifles and around 15-20 for their pistol. Make it make sense.
