This. I don't care about cruising 20 mph on a self-balancing board that wasn't designed to reach those speeds. I'm so considering selling my XR for a Pint X TBH. Since I ditched the Pint for the XR I hate so much the lack of proper pushback (already nose dived once due to that, didn't feel any pushback)

@@LBS-33-33 If that ends up being the case, it would quite literally kill the racing scene for it I'd imagine. No pro rider is gonna wanna be captain morganing and tail dragging everywhere just to push the limits, and everyone would flock back to XR. And despite that, it still wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Only time will tell.

It's not the bumper that adds space for more batteries, it's the expanded battery box, which can't just be purchased separately.

Teh problem is there really aren't any fixable issues with that size sensor as a 2-zone. They need to make it a 1-zone sensor aka posi for it to work well.

Bluetooth seems strong on the Pint X

But for real, I don’t know if you or any of the one wheel riders you know have this issue where the sensor light blink at all speeds and can cause the motor to kick off and on causing dangerous riding conditions. Has anyone you know experienced this on the pint or your pint x at higher speeds?

@@steve31785 Not at high speeds, but at low speeds, yeah.

An extra 2 mph in speed isn't worth the $1400 price point IMO. I think for current Pint owners a simple R3D/Chi/VnR battery upgrade is a cheaper and better option.

Guys, cmon lol i recently bought my pint for 800, wanted to do the battery upgrade but i CANT with my current firmware, so for most of the people with new firmware, you cant do the battery upgrade so you're forced into the X if you want more range. Battery upgrade is like 400 so that would put me at 1200 into the board, might as well spend 200 more to get more top speed and a genuine OEM range increase IMO what if they update the board and i have a modified battery that doesnt work with it? Bottom line, yes its worth the upgrade considering you can sell your pint for 800? Not like your paying the full 1400.....

Well there is another option. There's a whole slew of people selling off their XR's to buy a GT, so if you hunt around a bit you may find a good pre-owned deal. Ideally you'd want to aim for hardware version 4210 (with firmware 4150) or below, those ones you can drop an extended battery into without need for BMS modification. Hardware 4210 and above, or any board with firmware version 4155 will require the JW batteries FFM chip. Currently the CBXR and JW XR batteries can give an XR greater range than the GT.

Just get a used XR! They are cheap right now with people selling at a discount trying to scrape $$$ for a GT.

@@steve31785 I had a pint that had frequent sensor issues. Either in trying to get it started like Jeff is doing in the video, or I would be riding along and it would throw the error "You've had one sensor deactivated for X number of seconds". Sometimes I'd be going at slow speeds and it would just dump me. I ended up peeling off the grip tape, and discovered that instead of one layer of protective plastic the pint had two layers. There was no adhesive between the two layers, so I think rather than being intentional it accidentally had two layers of plastic. After discarding the second piece of plastic and re-gripping the pint I didn't have any more sensor issues. I made the decision to get rid of the pint after I had the infinite Captain Morgan, also known as the simple stop bug. So I was riding the pint on an asphalt surface when I hit a bump with enough speed that I caught some air. Without the resistance from the ground the one wheels motor will spin at maximum speed duration of time you are in the air. When I touched down the pint went into maximum pushback and accelerated forward at maximum speed. I tried to slow down, but unfortunately my tail was in contact with the ground so I couldn't tilt the board back to decelerate. After several seconds of grinding the tail against the ground to no avail, I took my front foot off the sensor pad. Per the app screen I hit 25 mph. I've never been great at quick stops so trying to do one at 25 miles per hour I ate it pretty hard. I have spoken with numerous other pint owners who have had similar issues, I have spoken with several of the stoke life service members, and I saw a video by the float life demonstrating this bug several years ago. This bug has been attributed to simple stop, because across all instances simple stop being active seems to be the common denominator. At the time the only modification this pint had was the aforementioned sensor fix, and a flight fin system. At the time of the infinite Captain Morgan I had about 1400 miles on my XR, 300ish on a plus that I had previously rented, and about 300 miles on that pint. So this was by no means and error of inexperience.

@@steve31785 I started a customer service ticket, but they blamed the issue on me being an inexperienced rider. I brought up the previous experience I had with an XR and Plus, their response was that the pint has a different riding profile with improved pushback for safety reasons. Basically they refuse to acknowledge that there was a problem, and would not start an authorized repair ticket for my lack of problem. The simple fix turned out to be turn off simple stop. I just find it rather ridiculous from a customer service perspective that you have multiple people reporting an issue to you, but instead of addressing and resolving the issue you just blame the customer. Look man I have a history of not getting along with future motions customer service. 2 months into owning my XR the battery stopped working. I sent it in, they did their inspection, and tried to charge me $500 to fix it. They said this was not a warranty related issue, that it had been caused by wear and tear. I refuse to pay for the repairs, so they sent my onewheel back to me in pieces. I decided to try and fix it myself. When I opened the battery compartment (how they did their inspection without breaking the seal on the battery compartment is beyond me) I discovered that the XT60 that connects the BMS to the power harness was not plugged in all the way. The retention clip was still intact so what that tells me is the person who initially assembled the one wheel didn't plug it in all the way and then over time the vibration from riding it just caused the connector to back itself out. No replacement parts no resoldering, just click the XT60 together and they tried to charge me $500 for that. I mean future motion wonders why stoke life service has taken off as such a successful business. Simple, SLS has very fair prices, they exercised full transparency of what they're actually doing to your one wheel (both the SLS shops I've been to let me sit there and watch what they were doing to my wheel), and the option to buy repair parts from the shop so that you can do repairs yourself if you want to. TLDR: future motion's customer services awful.

I think it will have hard pushback at 20, but with alot of power left in the tank to stop nosedives. Not a bad move imo.

@@BlitzDG yes, I agree for 70ish percent of the onewheel community this will be a great feature. Also FM has more ability to dodge liability claims with this pushback. TLDR: push back on the pint is so intense it is unrideable for long stretches. Push back is a great safety feature, but it can limit many riders who push the board to its extreme limit. the push back on the pint makes riding past the set speed so uncomfortable that it’s unbearable. Great feature for mass majority of community, but for the people that like to truly shred (which btw is who the onewheel GT board is directly advertised at lol) it would be a deal breaker if this board had similar push back to the pint (even at 20 mph.) The issue is what has been stated above. Some us cruise around 20 mph because we know how far we can push the board. With the pint pushback (idk if you’ve felt it or experienced it, and they also still have it on the pint x) it makes cruising at push back unbearable unlike the XR. My top speed on my XR is 27.8 and I hit that with out really trying. I know I’m very close to a nose dive at that speed, but the comfort at riding at 22/25 mph was not much different then at 16-17 which is NOT the case with the pint.

Hot take: Ultra aggressive pushback at high speeds is extremely dangerous. Imagine whipping 20+ mph on sketchy trails when all of the sudden the nose of the board fires up in the air and your tail starts dragging out of control. Sounds terrifying.

@@TheFloatLife 100% I have a feeling it will be cool but the XR Will remain the board for hard riding if that push back is too gnarly. They need to make a pro mode with tons of warnings and shit that let you use it to its full potential or give themselves plausible deniability like Suron with the oops don’t cut this wire or it’ll go faster..

@@RediJedi702 For the GT it appears that the Motor is the same just with a larger rim to accommodate a tire exclusive to the GT, wont fit XR tires.

No, that means it’s not functioning correctly. Pushback has nothing to do with weight.

@@aaronkelley3865 weight has to do with how hard the motor works to get the top speed. More weight means more amps. Ive seen ppl get 19-20mph going downhill

@@imabeast7397 Ultimately it depends on how they’ve programmed the board. They could program it to activate based on speed which the board knows. Or they could program it to activate based on other parameters such as amperage like you suggested. However, everything points to the former (speed). FM states in their advertising and specifications that pushback happens at a certain speed (14mph I believe). It’s unlikely they would state this if it’s design properties would allow that to vary. If pushback was triggered by something such as amperage, you be getting it at all kinds of weird times such as going up steep inclines on an off-road trail; even at slow speeds. This doesn’t happen. I’ve ridden my wife’s Pint in many different scenarios like this and it performs fine. I weigh 50 lbs. more than my wife and we get pushback on her Pint at the same speed (right about 14 mph). I also don’t weigh much more than you. It sounds like your board is just working differently for some reason.
