Lol we literally were just talking about the historical ratings problems and then I saw that in the newsletter this morning! I can’t wait to see what they’ve done for it, cuz I’ve started really enjoying doing historical sims, but it feels more like a self-moderated RPG than an extension of franchise mode at this point
I'm gonna disagree with you, and I nearly responded to your comment on the video because it isn't true. There were some new details in that interview that really help us understand what we can expect in the game that didn't come out in the trailer. I especially appreciated his elaboration on some of the more intricate details like the simulation engine. I don't think they've done a good job communicating, but I still can't agree that the interview was a waste of time. (Although I was rather bothered by how much Scott Braun kept talking about himself)
Thanks for the info. For the first time in over 20 years I don't plan to buy. I'm pretty sad since I usually can't wait until release day and playing for hours trying the new game. The in game sim engine upgrade could be huge and if it is a big upgrade I would buy. I like but could certainly live without 3d faces, alt uniforms and the rest of the features only playing fictional and not playing out that many games a season.
Unfortunately, this seems to be how a lot of veterans feel. The changes this year were targeted largely at new players and perfect team players, which is good for expanding the franchise, but honestly they didn't offer new features that make the game worth buying for returning, experienced base game players. Obviously the year to year changes are awesome, especially with a reworked simulation engine this season, but they don't have any flashy changes that make you want to buy the game, and that's really a shame.
@@michaelmontelongo8739 There are going to be big changes to the way the game is played that's the big ticket for me. The shop a player is definitely the only really big ADDITION for vets, and even then that's still a quality of life thing that's much more targeted at helping newer players get over the learning curve and make better trades more easily.
Ootp 22 was my first game and I have a fictional league going which I want to play for like 100 years and I was wondering if you can import your league and history in the new versions with each new game or you have to start over each time?
Yes, the communication of this year’s new features has been horrible. And, I stopped watching the interview with Markus cuz it was a big nothing burger. I don’t plan to buy until May once there are a lot of reviews out. Or maybe I’ll just stay with OOTP 22. I mostly play historical anyway. I’ve been playing since v6.5
I think that's smart. I'll make it a priority to make a proper review for the game a week or so after release and talk about the new features within days (if that long) so people can actually get an idea of what's going on before buying the game. I'm hoping the historical gameplay is better next year. It is really a shame how badly they've communicated about new stuff this year.
